Well somewhere in the near future the 18V 2.0 Ampts ( BL1820 ) is going to be replaces by the BL1820B . The B meaning the battery will have an onboard capacity indicator.
Could be the stock of BL1820’s are gone in your country and that they are awaiting the newer type BL1820B with capacity indicator.
🙂
dont think us aussies ever got the 2ah battery 🙁
We have them here but noone seems to care 🙂 people here only want ‘ bigger is better’!! They want fat packs on everything. 🙂
Makita USA introduced the BL1820 last year in the new CT200RW kits. The stock of BL1820 batteries that they had for these kits were set at too low of an initial charge for long term storage and when the kits wound up in the hands of the end user the charger failed to recognize the battery as functioning and would not charge the battery. About 5-8% of the batteries were considered defective because of this and all batteries were recalled from the dealers.
Makita has reintroduced the BL1815N battery as a temporary fix until they can manufacture more BL1820 batteries. The BL1815N has about 12% more run-time over the old BL1815 battery and will fit in tools with a yellow or black battery connection plate with a star symbol.
Cummins ^^^ told you he would know what’s up!!
I wonder if now they will wait to ship the new 2.0ah with the battery gauge once those are Ready
The BL1820 2.0Ah batteries are back in stock now.
