There goes 50 grand if not more. That doesn’t include the tools inside either

Poisonfangs85Member since Feb 2015

I could easily live in that!

BigmikezMember since Jun 2013

Wow I cant even imagine what they spent on that….

madman_usMember since Sep 2014

i would rather buy a brand new truck for that 😀

BigmikezMember since Jun 2013

Wow that’s a nice set up

DR99Member since Nov 2012

Don’t get me wrong the Snap on boxes looks really really nice, but you will finally pay off those boxes the day you retire!.

MikeyBMember since Dec 2014

Snap on Festool style. Hey Chris this ones for u.

Bryanp292Member since Aug 2014

I see a Wally trophy inside the tool box. It’s a NHRA drag racing trophy. This has to be custom made for one of those race teams.

DPSEliasMember since Mar 2014

That’s not a tool box, its a storage wall!!!!

madman_usMember since Sep 2014

even chrome wheels – wow

As someone who appreciates a well made tool, I can’t ever justify the cost of anything Strap-On, and I’m not sure how anyone who isn’t an aircraft mechanic could. I make $40/hr and I won’t even consider it.

My approach is to buy three sets of something 1/10th of the cost and take advantage of the warranties while moving on to the next set. I keep the reliability through redundancy and save thousands in the process, and I don’t worry about abusing cheap tools.

I know some people game the system and hunt down deals for used or broken Snap-On and then bust them up and exchange it for new. If I had to I’d go that route but I’m not interested in screwing anyone, even Snap-On.

Nice box, but you can bet it don’t belong to Joe the Service Tech down at the dealership.

I’d say $50K is probably on the mark or pretty damn close to it

Bill RyanMember since Jun 2015

UPS would love delivering that box. They wouldn’t be tossing that over the fence!

Charles HarrisMember since Apr 2015

Dang that would seriously have to be a $25-30k box. I couldn’t imagine buying one of those new. I have two snap on boxes now. One is a little one that I bought a deal on used. I paid about the same as you could go buy a craftsman or kobalt for. The other one is a KRL series like in the pics, but just a 12 drawer base. I traded for it and don’t have a lot invested. I really like both of them but I wouldn’t even consider buying one new. Way too much money.

Some mechanics have a car payment just in a tool box that’s not including the tools. Man, If you could do the marketing and run a really slick site like Amazon for tools and quick warranty turn around you could change the tool truck business upside down.

jrsalasMember since Jun 2015

The sad part of it is that’s it’s probably mostly empty. Lol looks nice though.

I’ll have to admit it’s pretty sharp.

Judging from what appears to be a trophy featuring a guy holding a tire, I’d say that box likely belongs to a pro pit crew of some type and probably wasn’t bought at all

WeldfabNeilMember since May 2015

I think the mega toolboxes are just a waste of money for your individual average mecnhic. Chances are it’s a race team or aviation shop with foam fitted drawers to control fod or some other commercial or industrial application.

Either way it’s one expensive box. If your spending 50k on a box just imigane what your paying for the tools inside.

WigWagWorkshopMember since May 2015

I am guessing some sort of Pro race team, and Snap-On probably is a sponsor of some sorts.

RickyMcGrathMember since Oct 2014

Check out their Level 5 Tool Control Systems. The basic box the size of the DeWalt or Milwaukke lower parts, runs $12-15K.

Way to pricy for my taste.

Honestly I usually try to justify the extra costs for premium stuff whether its work or play, as long as it will be used often, but snap-on is so far beyond ridiculous to me. Especially when you read about guys with their finances right upside down over a couple boxes.

99_XC600Member since Jun 2015

Beautiful setup, but I would be compelled to carry insurance if anything happened to it.

NERemodelingMember since Aug 2014

All the techs in the shop I bring my motorcycle have sick looking Mac boxs… this one dude has what looks to be about a 55″ lower in black and lime green…

if I had to guess I would say that every one of them had between 5-10k invested in just their boxes. Crazy!

ankurMember since Jul 2015

how in the world can anyone justify that kind of money on storage?! even if the tools inside are worth tens of thousands, i just don’t see how this could ever make sense other than to show off. sure they give you more customization options, but do they really hold tools any better than the others? not everyone makes boxes as big as these, but seems like you could work around that given the money required to get into a setup like this. why not fabricate your own chests?! crazy, just crazy. i’m having a hard time trying to justify the $700 for the milwaukee combo…
