Maybe they will have battery charging times and days passed from first charge as Milwaukee have.

Not sure what you mean with that? 🙂
Do you mean like a life meter/odometer of the battery? I don’t think Makita is adding any electronics capable of that to these new batteries.
No chance. They’ve somehow managed to make even the LED indicator batteries look … homebrand.
Hahahaha Dwain. Funny stuff dude. Still, four bars is pretty sweet. Gives you a more accurate look at what’s left.
I am glad they they went with 4 LEDs.
Any sign of these selling yet. I’ve new tools that need batteries
The American Makita website had just added a new small compact brushes drill with compact batteries with indicator. And a new brushes impact with the compact batteries with indicator.

I’m waiting on these to hit the European market. Was operating three tools on two batteries all last weekM80 wrote:

Just done an eBay search and it seems bishoptools now stock these. So they are starting to hit the market. I’m desperate now, any European update anyone?
My new batteries came in the mail today. Two 5.0ah batteries with LED indicators. They came out of the package charged with 2 out of four bars.

Not familiar with Makita cordless, I have Dewalt and Milwaukee which either have battery or tool indicators, does Makita have anything on the tool or is this the first Makita battery to have indicators?

A lot of the newer tools have indicators on the tool. The batteries with the indicators on them are new and are just starting to hit the marketplace.

That would be nice to have them on the tool and the battery, I Kiel the Dewalt set up because the fuel gauge lets me check the battery level before I throw it in the tool. I wonder if Makita will try to develop something Bluetooth next like Dewalt and Milwaukee have.

At the Makita 100th anniversary event, the director of Makita indicated that they will.
States or Europe?M80 wrote:

States. Not available in europe yet
Now I just need some batteries to die so I can get new ones. I’ve got a mix of 15. 3 and 4ah so not much need for more. One of my oldest packs is from ’09 or ’10 and still going strong so I don’t imagine they will all start dying anytime soon.. Rats!
I’d like to say mine have gotten a ton of use but I have 3 4.0s and they power my Makita chainsaw, jigsaw and grinder like absolutely champs. I don’t see buying these things to replace mine right away. I simply can justify it 🙁
A bucket of water could fix that for you Ner ! 😀

In light of the drill test tia did, that probably wouldnt help.
Luckily I’m in need of a couple new batteries.

Seriously. Haha. Running them over with my truck isn’t gonna cut it either.. I guess I’ll have to accidently drop them in a fire… Errr maybe on second thought that’s not such a good idea either!!!! Can anyone say BOOM

Be sure to film it when you do put em in the fire. I’d like to see the results =D
Remember to charge the batteries first so there’s more energy to release. Discharged batteries just smoke and smell terrible.
Or even better, finish the normal charging with a deluxe overcharge. 😀
how about NOT killing yourselves! 😉 That’s freaking dangerous….

18V LXT® Lithium-Ion 6.0Ah Battery with L.E.D. Charge Level Indicator (BL1860)
The less time a battery sits on the charger, the more time it’s powering the tool. Makita offers the industry’s most efficient 18V Lithium-Ion batteries with the fastest charge times in their categories. The new 6.0Ah battery reaches a full charge in only 55 minutes, provides 100% more run time than the Makita 3.0Ah battery, and has an on-board L.E.D. charge level indicator. (available February 2016)

I’m with you. It’s been painful watching tool after brushless tool when, for one of my favorite tools, I’m stuck with a cord or a painfully outdated cordless tool.
At least I’m not invested in Dewalt waiting for anything to go brushless.

Hahaha. Those poor dewalt guys!
You hit the nail on the head to exactly my fustrations.. so many times it would be the only corded tool I would have to setup on site. I have the old cordless but it’s a first model bjr181 and is so underpowered it isn’t even funny..
Any update on European release for fuel gauge batteries. Desperate now
I already have them in belgium ? Maybe contact your dealer and check if they can get them ? 🙂
I’m in ireland where most dealers aren’t worth your time, I’ve been just regularly checking ebay to see if there shown up there but seem to be only U.S at the momentkornomaniac wrote:
