Has anyone heard when the M12/M18 charger is coming out…. or has it already? I can’t seem to find it yet! It seems kind of ridiculous that I want to buy it (when I own 4 M12 chargers) but I think it could make things easier and less cluttered when working. Any input would be great.

Thanks,

Yep….it is online already……it is definitely pretty fast charging!  I was able to fully charge (3) M18 4.0XC & (3) M12 Compact batteries to a full charge in 1:30.

madman_usMember since Sep 2014

ya CPO gets stuff quick… was one of the first companies who had Bosch’s cordless screwgun.

but back to that main topic – def a great fast charging unit. i really like the idea, other manufacturer should go with it too

might need to think about investing in one of these with all the batteries ive been getting and with my new m12 kit on the way  I will b up to about almost 12 batteries

madman_usMember since Sep 2014

holy cow – already 12 batteries?

which kit did you order?

BigmikezMember since Jun 2013

the 3/8 m12 fuel with a free 3/8 ratchet deal they have goin right now, should be here soon

FrosBros82Member since Feb 2015

Yeah, I have heard that the charger is awesome and makes it much more convenient for the working tradesmen. I will have to go on CPO and take a look and order. Thanks for the responses.

Bigmikez, if you don’t mind, let us know how you like that 3/8 m12 fuel Impact wrench whenever you get it. I’ve been thinking about getting that one or the 3/8 m18 version.

FOR SURE MAN!!

I have the Fuel 3/8″ impact wrench. I like it a bunch. It will usually take lug nuts off my F150 and GF’s Expedition (115 ft-lbs or so) with little drama (I am a little neurotic about keeping the threads clean and lubed). It’s not a super powerhouse, but it’s not 7+ pounds, either.

good 2 know BK I seen a couple youtube reviews on it it where they were taking lug nuts off 2 that’s what made jump on it even more plus I know the ratchet is gonna come in very handy.

So my cruiser was suffering a semi flat so I was up at HQ and dropped into automotive to get a new tire. My buddy Rick, one of the mechanics was demoing a brand spanking new Mac impact gun. He was running it with Dewalt 20v batteries. He also has the DCF889 Dewalt. He hates the Dewalt. He said it’s loud and takes a while for it to actually remove the lugs. The Mac blasts em right off. I got to mess around with it and was blows away at the weight, it weighs a ton, and the unbelievable torque.

BigmikezMember since Jun 2013

That Mac was on my list Chris I’ve messed with it at the shop when the Mac guy stopped by the shop to show them off the grip felt very comfortable but did have some weight and power was nice to but was out of my price range but I’m glad I went with the fuel 1/2 not disappointed at all.

Good to know Mike. I don’t have any M18 tools currently, just an XC battery. I ALMOST bought it when HD had it for such a low price but I really didn’t want to drop the coin at that time. My IDH182 has a 1/2″ impact anvil but I don’t think it would take lugs off of my Tundra.

madman_usMember since Sep 2014

the IDH182 has some crazy torque….no clue how much you need to take off those nuts….but 1650in lbs is actually a lot

Thats 137.5 foot pounds witch is right about on the line of what you need.

It’s the backing torque you need though to loosen lug nuts up which differs from the forward torque and impact rating. Do I know what the reverse or jut busting torque is? Nope. But I’m pretty confident it MIGHT get the lugs off of my truck but not as efficiently as a impact wrench with a higher torque rating. But until I try I won’t know.

if they don’t have both torque specs they usually only show the breakaway torque because its a little higher.

You obviously need to buy three or four 18-20v impacts and do a tool fight….

ChrisKMember since Dec 2012

Screw that! Those things are expensive!!!!

madman_usMember since Sep 2014

i dont really care much about changing tires, i just go the the dealer and they rotate them for me while doing oil change 😛

truck and cars!

BigmikezMember since Jun 2013

Nice MM U lucky! I grew with my grandpa being the neighorhood mechanic so I’ve always had a love for it though I should’ve paid more attention back when he was doing it all the time I still know a good chunk of the basics. So though I paint at the shop I’ve been finding myself doing more n more of the mechanic work at the shop.

madman_usMember since Sep 2014

ya back in germany i did that myself too, changing oil and rotate tires.

but for 105 bucks – 3x oil change and 3x tire rotations + 3 car washes.

for that money i dont get my hands dirty.

changing spark plugs at my dodge – hell ya, i do that myself. definitely worth it! dealer charge you 400 bucks or so….

BK13Member since Nov 2013

Changing plugs on my F150 requires removing about half the fuel system. No thanks.

madman_usMember since Sep 2014

im laying on the engine while changing those out – not really comfy haha.

you just have to remember what you took off 😛 thats its an easy job

Samuel L.Member since Sep 2014

Everyone thinks changing spark plugs is easy until you have one break while your loosening it.

BigmikezMember since Jun 2013

I think I need to really invest in this charger….. Brought home my tools Today from the shop and charging them for next week

madman_usMember since Sep 2014

yeah agree on that mike 😀 you can definitely need the new charger

NERemodelingMember since Aug 2014

Nice collection of red you got there Mike!!

As nice as the charger is, unless your burning through batteries all day long I say that money could be better spent somewhere else (like more tools) 🙂

madman_usMember since Sep 2014

more tools more tools 😀
