Anyone have any advice on corded hand planners? I have heard good things about DeWalt’s and very good things about Makita’s… just looking into getting something new. Both seem to be about the $150.00 or so mark.

Thanks,

Try out Bosch too. They have a great planer and the guys just posted a video including their new planer too.

Thanks for the input! Actually, I am pretty sure the Bosch is about $50.00 cheaper or so.

Makita’s kp0800 or kp0810 are both very very good 🙂 kp0800 Can take off 2.5 mm and the kp0810 Can take off 4 mm in 1 pass.

Both of these Models still use 2 blades which isnt always the case anymore with some Brands 🙂

I have that same Makita model and really like it. Blades are easy to get at most Home Depot stores. The only thing I do not like is that it doesn’t come with a dust bag. I know most people hook up a shop vac or dust collector, but you won’t be able to do that without an adaptor since the dust chute is oval in shape. I picked the adaptor and dust bag off of amazon for around $35.
