gonna start this with a tool some may know and some may not…..
without cheating can anyone name this tool?
hint: it is actually 2 in 1
mini log splitter 😀
some sort of cutter or chisel to be used with an anvil?
A broaching bit?
First thought when I saw the picture was “I have no idea what that is” then I started thinking and to me it’s either a chisel or splitter. Maybe an oversized heavy arrowhead? lol…
I’m on the edge of my seat! WHAT IS IT?!
No idea comp..
it is called a hardy or hardie, and the hole is found on anvils so it is known as the hardy hole…….so NER was close……..
Yahoo! 🙂
You got any good anvil projects going on, comp?
I need to pick up a vise with one of those, so I can yell “Nobody messes with my Hardy Hole!” And mean it.
That was fun!
i’m sure in the past hardy hole meant something totally different….
Name this Tool what is it used for

I’m guessing it belongs in a “regopit”
Phew. That’s a doosie… it looks like a thing-amajiggy filter valve for some serious pipe. Maybe steam or gas. Possibly water
Stumped on this one!!!
I have repaired this type of tool before can’t remember model but it’s a hydraulic pipe tapper.
it basically breaches or drills into different size pipes…..

Ahhh.. well in that case, thank you sir!
only cause I’ve worked on one, never used one
Sorry, late to the party. Anvils and even some vises have a hardy hole. About every company uses a different size hole as well, there isn’t really an industry standard, especially with european models.
I actually found a 7/16″ hardy to fit my little Shop King vise!
