hey guys, just got my newest SWEDISH made Bosch ROS65 VC 6″ and 5″ sander kit! STOKED!
This is my first video and I uploaded it to my YouTube thingy and here is the link. Let me know what you think!
great short vid chris 😛
so you got the ROS65VCL. man thats so awesome. $215 is a steal for that tool.
i have the smaller brother; the ROS20VSK and its awesome.
but i can imagine how the ros65 will perfom with the vibration control and front handle.
cord is 12 ft. – so pretty darn long. and i thought the cord from my JS572EBL is long with 8 ft.
Nice vid, man, but two words: landscape mode.
First video ever BK. I have a LOT to learn!
im thinking about getting the half-sheet sander from Bosch; OS50VC because its on sale like yours.

That would be a really sweet sander for the finish work but even on recon it’s like 300! This coming from the Festool Snob 😉
$215 like yours or $260 for the half-sheet sander….they is almost no difference 😛

I didn’t say it was bad, just giving (hopefully) helpful advise. I’d rather see sanders on the screen rather than bars on the screen.
Thanks BK I held the phone upright, good info there for future videos. Also Madman, totally agree on the price, different uses though. That is a definite future purchase for me. Perfect for high end finish work on that guy!
Bosch probably makes the best mass market sanders. I know you have Festool and Mirka, but they are at a whole other level. The other companies don’t really come close. I have the Makita cordless bare sander but no batteries or chargers to use it. Congrats on your first video Chrisk! Also nice purchase!
Congrats on your Bosch. Just be careful when you go to hook up your Festool dust extractor you may cause a disturbance in the force.
Great video bro u did awesome I wouldve been nervous and studdering threw the whole video lol and a big congrats on ur new toy man that sanders a beuty!
Yeah the poor girl is getting dirty looks from my RO90. This sander is really big. Really powerful. Made in Sweden. Has an unbelievable chassis that is completely suspended. I will be using this all weekend and am pretty stoke.regopit wrote:

Thanks Mike! BK is dead on, gotta put the camera in landscape mode for my next video. I am a little bit “backwards” on doing these though and am not sure if I like it. I’ll try it again, maybe when I’m doing the work shop update as opposed to taking photos. Still a train wreck we’ve been getting so much snow in the last four weeks (5 feet and it’ll be 6 by mid or ing tomorrow) doing snow removal, clean up, work in the big bedroom etc. that I haven’t been doing much of anything in the shop.Bigmikez wrote:

Wow Chris that’s freakin crazy bro 5-6 feet of snow! How Do u still go to work like that? Never been around that much snow so it’s just crazy to me that u guys get hit with so much
ya 6′ of snow is not a joke
Work is interesting Mike. 450 hp. No snow tires (we use all seasons….they suck), rear wheel drive, about five inches of ground clearance. It’s really really really really really fun. We’ve had 23 guys hit this winter in their cruisers. That’s the most ever.
Also, here is my RO65VC in action!!!
for that comes the ros in handy
Chris, great review/unboxing man!! Plenty of time for little improvements.. the cool thing is that you just did it! I’ve thought a lot about about doing little videos but worry too much about making them perfect that I’ve never actually done one.. I’ve gotta just jump in one day
Why in the world don’t they give you guys snow tires?!?!?! That’s crazy to me.
Money dude. Money. They did just buy like 8 all wheel drive cars so maybe they will flip the fleet over but my car will probably retire with me in 3-1/2 years. My baby is still sweet n new!
Also thanks for that. I’ve been really hesitant to do a video and truthfully I still am. I don’t know any of the technical stuff, don’t have a mic and truthfully it’s a paint to hold the phone and shoot while running the tool. And man my voice sounds weird hearing it drone on back at me. 😀
Very nice that floor is coming out clean Chris I know ur super happy that u picked that sander!

Am I the only one who despises sheet sanders because they seem to tear through sanding sheets and ruin the paper.
why u think that way? i never read anything like that in reviews or heard about it
Great videos Chris, it’s funny that’s not at all what I woud have guessed your voice to sound like. I dontknowmaybe a little more German.
Thanks Chad…..on occasion while cutting through wood like “buttah” I scream out….”Get into da choppa if you want to live!”

I am kind of biased because all 3 sheet sanders I own are poorly made old junk.
which brand are those?
Samuel, I had (still do don’t use it though) a B&D sheet sander. Hate it. Sheet sanders can be finicky, you have to learn how to use it with the wood and the project to get the most out of the sander. I will probably buy a sheet sander and more likely than not this one for finishing. I have had the same problem too in the past to. I think using the right paper, pressure and the quality of the paper and tool are what make the sander work.
I checked out one of these sanders at a local shop today, and it’s a friggin’ beast!

I have a B&D that is probably older than me and a Mastercraft one that is probably 12 years old.

Yea dose not help that the backing plate on both are exposed down to bare metal on the corners, I haven’t gotten around to buying a new sander because all my projects have been small so I just hand sand everything.
so how you like the sander so far chris?
Wait we have 3 of these at work on the clearance shelf for 219 I am totally getting one.
tell your boss homedepot has it for $215 and maybe he throws additional 10% in. ( ok homedepot in the states 😛 )
i eye balled this ros for a long time too, just because of the vibration control and the extra handle.
the smaller brother (ros20VSK) just starts to hurt in ma hands after like 1h of sanding or so.
Madman….I friggin’ love it. I’ll do a full review on it but yesterday I was using it to sand mud in the bedroom with my Wife. Samantha was using the smaller ES125 (Festool) and I was using this beast. I finished more wall in forty minutes by far than she. The ES125 has the five inch pad whereas I am using the six inch so naturally I could go further, faster. The dampening control is awesome. It is heavy using it over head but not too bad. The DC is great though I haven’t used the canister, it’s been plugged right into my Midi. It’s got two vent holes on the vac shaft so some debris does escape from it, but truly very little $215 and this is a steal on Amazon or HD.madman_us wrote:

Samuel, it really is worth every penny. You get excellent storage in the l boxx 3d and I can fit two boxes of Mirka paper in it. Two pads for five and six inch diameter basically making it two in one. Made in Switzerland, three year warranty. That price is a steal dude.

im glad you enjoy it. its really cool that it comes with the lboxx3. so you save $60 right there.
its weird the sheet sander costs 60 bucks more but it doesnt come with a lboxx. ( in EU it comes in a lboxx )
ya i really think to jump on this tool as well

Oh its going to only cost pennies after the discount I get on it because its clearance.
how much more you get on that one?
madman_us wrote:

Well I did sign a contract that says I cant talk about that until 5 years after I stop working there but It was supposed to also be seen by 2 witnesses when I signed it but there wasn’t so on clearance Items I get it for half usually.
oh and the ones at work are the ROS65VC5 not ROS65VCL so It only has the 5 inch pad and I don’t think it has the case ether.
- Includes: Removable Front Handle, Tubular Dust Canister, VAC024 Vacuum Hose Adapter, RS038 5-Inch Soft Backing Pad, 5 mm Pad Wrench, Sanding Disc
yeah no lboxx or 6″ pad.
that kit costs 192 on amazon.com atm
Keeping in mind Samuel, you can buy the six inch pad on your own and convert it whenever you want the bigger pad. This is truly an awesome sander!
If this was blue with green lettering, guys would pay $495 for it….I kid you not. This is a great machine.
I know it is not the same sander but I have the Milwaukee 5″ orbital that I got for a steal at Sears for $39.00 when they were removing Milwaukee line from the store….
damn for $39 i would have bought one too. cant go wrong for that price.
i also love this review for the ros65

Yeah I read that. There is a reason you have to keep up with reviews because of BS comments like this tool left. Seriously, before you leave a review….actually learn how to use the tool, put said tool to use THEN leave feedback. Some tool reviewers are like uninformed voters. Thanks Obama Care.madman_us wrote:

Hey he can’t help it if he licks the windows and does it with farm animals.
ya or the write a review with just 1 star or so just because of the tool doesnt work properly or is damaged.
then fu**ing send it back and get a new one…..there is always a chance that you grab a bad apple out of the basket.
