After my trip to HD Saturday to get a gallon of primer and coming home with the Ridgid 12 volt combo kit.  Today I go to HD for a new flood light bulb for the back deck and a few paint trays. Well I am walking along minding my own business and see the clearance section and figure well I have to stop.  I find a 2 pack of Ridgid 12 volt 4 Ah batteries for $49.00.  So I do have the bulb and paint trays and grab the batteries and head up front.  But you have to walk down the tool section right?  And I pass the Random Orbit Sanders and stop to look and decide I need a new one.  So my trip for the bulb and paint trays has me leaving with the batteries and a Random Orbit Sander.  I still blame all of you.  I need to stay out of HD for a while.

Mehhhhh……. Sounds like a good day at HD to me!

chadlanthierMember since Mar 2013

That’s funny. So is h.d calling your name already, next u will be having dreams.

rfwjrMember since Jul 2014

I guess I need to go to Lowes.  I should be safe there right?

NicholasShetleyMember since Nov 2013

That isn’t embarrassing, I call that normal.

comp56Member since Sep 2014

I swear all I hear while I’m in HD is:

psst…over here…check this out…..

BigmikezMember since Jun 2013

Yea sounds like a very great day at HD!

DR99Member since Nov 2012

Yea you probably wont buy nearly as much at Lowes. They just don’t have the really good deals like Home Depot most of the time on power tools at least.

madman_usMember since Sep 2014

mission completed rfwjr 😛

maybe you just should stay our of a hardware store and maybe just buy your paint and primer online haha

chadlanthierMember since Mar 2013

Yep, I havnt come on any great deals at lowes. Know online might be my problem.

DR99Member since Nov 2012

If you look at my deal post Lowes isn’t mentioned nearly as often as amazon or home depot. Also the problem is that Milwaukee is exclusive to the Home Depot and not Lowes.

madman_usMember since Sep 2014

I find a bunch of good deals at lowes – specially bosch 😛

in the last month I bought 2x 50% clearance items (brand new)

BK13Member since Nov 2013

I was awfully close to buying a Milwaukee 1/4 sheet sander at HD this evening…. But WTF do I need a 1/4 sheet sander for? I still haven’t used my Bosch ROS yet?

Conductor562Member since Nov 2011

Sounds like every trip I’ve ever made to HD

madman_usMember since Sep 2014

@BK: when you have to sand tight corners were you cant get into with a ROS.

pick a project and use your ROS 😛

I bought one to sand cedar pickets for my new 4 planters. spring is on the way – just have to pick some flowers.

comp56Member since Sep 2014

When I see a tool, I don’t think about how I don’t need it or don’t have a use for it I think of things I can do with it…..or how it would help me…..is that a bad sign?

BigmikezMember since Jun 2013

not at all comp …keep buying 😉

That’s the excuse I’m going to use for a Fein Multimaster!

I like it.

I think conductor did a mini review on that Milwaukee 1/4 sheet sander and was not a fan of it.

BK13Member since Nov 2013

Heck, if it’s just going to sit on a shelf in the garage, what’s it matter if it sucks? LOL

comp56Member since Sep 2014

There are a couple people in.my life that I dont care for but they are still family….

Most frustrating power tool I ever owned. Powerful, hefty, comfortable, and wouldn’t hold a sheet of paper to save it’s life. I gave it away to keep from throwing it away.

The RO model is great, but Milwaukee can stick the 1/4 sheet model up their ass!

madman_usMember since Sep 2014

when im in the store and i see a tool i don’t own ( or specially when its on sale ) i never think for what can i use it….i buy it and when im at home i think about it what nice thinks i can do with it

NERemodelingMember since Aug 2014

if i leave home depot from a material run without a new tool or at least some blades or bits i see it as a failure!!

for all the 1/4 sheet sander talk going on, if anyone really thinks they would benefit from a detail sander i would HIGHLY recommend the Festool DTS400      it is one of their least expensive sanders but one of the most useful and soooo much nicer than a 1/4 sheet

BK13Member since Nov 2013

I can justify a $50 impulse buy for a sander, a model for five times that amount I have to be a little more circumspect…

BK13Member since Nov 2013

Besides, a reasonably affordable sander would be like the Festool gateway drug…

rfwjrMember since Jul 2014

I need 4 impulses to get that Ridgid belt/spindle sander into my garage.

Oh yea I feel like Festool would be beast but once you go green your wallet is clean.

BK it just depends on what you wanna do with the sander 1/4 sheet; 1/2 sheet; full sheet or 5″ ROS; 6″ ROS 😛

i went with the 5″ disc ROS sander from Bosch (ROS20VSK) and its a nice little sander but i future i might gonna upgrade to the 1/2 sheet sander from bosch. have a few table, bench and outdoor furniture projects coming up ( as soon as my garage is remodeled haha )

BK13Member since Nov 2013

MM, I think that’s the exact sander I have already… I certainly don’t NEED a 1/4 sheet sander right now, but I saw the pretty red Milwaukee color and I was a little weak for a second… And I had forgotten Travis’ review from awhile back…when I do get one, it’ll probably be a Makita, with a slim possibility of one of those ugly yellow tools, LOL…

Just have your wife take you to HD to look for carpet & tile.

The bad memories. Kept me out of HD for a month!
