so my dust deputy came in the mail so I figured I get it started……
I took an old UHMW cutting board to make the lid stronger than the original pail lid ……after cutting to size I greased it up with clear silicone to seal everything up…..next will be getting it plumbed to the shop vac……….stay tuned…..

It’s looking good comp, keep us informed.
Nice I need to learn how to do this, and nice homer bucket there
nice work comp – that’s how you save money on the long run. that’s why you needed that HD bucket for 😛
Why didn’t u get one of those new fangled buckets in festool green.
lol, I got it all fitted and set up ….works a charm… will take some pics soon….I like it…….
Comp what did that run u. I like the set up.
$45 for Dust deputy $6 for bucket and lid sealer and nut and bolts so say around $60 total
so far I pretty much filled a bucket up now and filter in shop vac practically clean as a whistle…..aside from it being empty…
Comp is that the one that has no static buildup in the materials? I ask because the Dust Deputy (Last one) was burning up Festool vacs. Supposedly they made an improvement to the material so we can use them.
Thanks comp for the info.

i’m not 100% sure but I do know if you run a copper wire from one of the connecting bolts on the dust deputy and have a washer lay on the floor it should cut down static….
btw yesterday had the electrical panel upgraded , so while I was at it I added a separate 30amp receptacle on it’s own breaker….now I can run the shovac through the switch with the bigger draw tools…….
Smart thinking comp
looks good Comp i like the idea of using the old cutting board! these work great, don’t they

the clear dust deputy is not static dissipating.. the new one they started including with the ultimate dust deputy for festools is black and is $20 more than the clear one if purchased separately http://www.oneida-air.com/inventoryD.asp?item_no=AXD001004SD&CatId={428A1AFA-E859-459E-8BF9-47817428D9AF}
you can always go metal also but that is a whole lot more coin at $130
i built a plywood box instead of the 5 gallon bucket but the bucket probably works just as well and is a lot easier to put together!
Good idea, show some pictures of the finished product and tell us how it works for you.
I am going to get one of these. I’m tired of cleaning filters or buying bags.
3x ridgid packs of bags (3 in a pack ) and you have the price of a dust deputy
im gonna hopefully be picking one up soon.
When I got mine it was on sale $44 now $59
ya for $44 i would def buy it. but the cheapest one here is around $70 + tax.
i was also looking at the Clear Vue Cyclone – Mini 06 or something – i like when its clear and you see the stuff flying around
guys is there any specific model I should be looking for?
there are not so many models out there.
Oneida Dust Deputy ( difference sizes for a small shop vac up to 2 or 3 HP dust collector.) you can get them in plastic or metal.
or you go with
Clear Vue cyclones – like the CV06 Mini for shop vacs
truth be told the one I have you can see stuff spinnin around no problem, so it is pretty see thru
ok cool I was just wondering b4 I go and purchase one. what model do u guys have?
i might build one out of a street cone if i find the time before sanding the drywalls – otherwise i gonna buy the mini CV06 from clear vue cyclones for $90
It’s amazing how much they charge for that thing.
well for $44 its not bad….
ya for $44 i would not hesitate – but its almost double here lol
which model do u have comp?
he has this one>
its the normal Oneida Dust Deputy.
Build your own Thein separator using a 5 gallon bucket or even a metal trash can.
a baffle separator is a cheaper way to go…but i dont think its as good as a cyclone.
mike pick up a street cone when you see one – i picked one from the water company (they forgot one on the street 😛 ) and gonna transform that on in a cyclone.
check it out:
I researched the cone and came to a conclusion that for the sale price it wasn’t worth the hassle…….so I ordered it granted I got a great deal as they are back to $59.99 now….godda say I’m more than happy with it so far filled a bucket and seems like nothin in shop vac….woot……
Thanks guys ille have to c which one crosses my path first the cone or cyclone…
My separator works great, I really don’t get anything in my shop vac. But I don’t think you can go wrong with either.
Which store did you find it at for $44?
got it at elite tools no longer sale on
do they ship to the us?
when its back on sale its prolly cheaper than buying it here in states

Thanks, I’ll keep an eye open for another sale. It’s not a do or die part to have lol.

actually best thing I bought in awhile, I would still be happy at $59 for what difference it makes…..

yeah i can imagine that
I really want one of these
trust me ever since I have moved my shop into the basement my wife runs around the house with a white glove and if any test comes back as a failure….I have to deal with that…….
If you guys are getting anything from clear view you can use the coupon code NUBS5 for some money off your purchase.
i really like the mini cv06 (clearvue).
I think Ace sells them too. I’ll have to check and see if they have any sales…
