I don’t actually hate HD but I hate going there some times especially when I’m having a weak moment……went there this morning to buy a SINGLE plastic Bucket……3 lousy bucks and left with a $200+ receipt …picked up a fuel saw and spare 40t blade….

chadlanthierMember since Mar 2013

rfwjrMember since Jul 2014

madman_usMember since Sep 2014

Samuel L.Member since Sep 2014

Bummer ya some months they offer free shipping in Canada for orders over 150$ and under 50 pounds. But then again why would I need that I work there.

But shipping to the states is only 25$ so with shipping to the states that’s only 163$ american. Any of you guys want a cheap fuel circular saw, fuel grinder or fuel sawsall.

comp56Member since Sep 2014

dude, I just ordered both the saw and the grinder plus more stuff….I need help….lol

Milwaukee FUEL 18V Li-Ion Circular Saw – Tool Only

Samuel L.Member since Sep 2014

Dude there a great company 100% Canadian owned and operated and our sales are so good the Home Depot across the street wont match our price on power tools sale items most of the time.

comp56Member since Sep 2014

you work there?

Samuel L.Member since Sep 2014

Yea its been a month and a half i’m getting paid to talk tools its great, well most of the time my job is being the teenage kid putting stock on the floor but they realized I know way too much about power tools to go to waste so once the school year ends and I can work full time my boss is going to make me one of the sales associate for power tools. Oh and its highly probable due to the fact that the store I’m in is the furthest store east I might be the one packing your order.

Its funny the Milwaukee rep came in this week it was the first time I got to talk to him and I kind of know more about the new stuff from Milwaukee than the rep apparently he is only kept up to date on Canadian releases not the British and American stuff. He had no idea they had 5ah M18 batteries or a cordless miter saw.

comp56Member since Sep 2014

lol well if you do fill my order………there is always room for extra’s ….lol j/k….

JK I like my job to much.

madman_usMember since Sep 2014

comp you bought the stuff where he works?

comp56Member since Sep 2014

yes I guess I did, was cheaper than my local shops so of course I added more to the list..

madman_usMember since Sep 2014

Ya its really nice to save a few bucks on tools

chadlanthierMember since Mar 2013

Comp I’m thinking u might need an intervention. Although when the new dewalt stuff hits the market, I’m going to need an intervention as well.

madman_usMember since Sep 2014

Lock up your credit and debit cards

comp56Member since Sep 2014

so let me get this straight, a tool intervention is when a bunch of people get in a room and talk about all the tools that can be purchased right? oh wait maybe that’s tool convention……

@madman_us they have to find my wallet before they can lock my credit or debit cards and on top of that I would never bring it to an intervention……

madman_us wrote:

Yea the one downside to being Canadian is our Home Depot and Lowe’s are priced a good 20-40% more on tools.

comp56Member since Sep 2014

so I was out and about this afternoon and you guessed it….. I swung by HD again to get a damn lid for the bucket I got the other day…anyway when I was there last I picked up a 14pc pack of sawzall blades that were reduced from $29.97 to $7.46 I happen to get the last one….well today they restocked the shelves with more so I figured at that price I will grab 2 more seeings ya can’t have enough blades……as it turns out when I got to the cashier they rang in this time at regular price and I said sticker says reduced she says show me where …..I took her to the area where I got it from and sure enough reduced….we went back to cashier and she charged me 1 cent each……say what?……

I hope u went back and cleaned them out for 1 cent. The best deal I ever got was when I purchased dewalts 20v right angle drill. When I purchased it, the 1-2 switch seemed a little funny, so sent them an email. They sent me a new drill and told me to throw the other one out. When I got the new one, the switch was the same. So I sold one on eBay and enjoyed my free drill.

BigmikezMember since Jun 2013

Wow comp that’s a hell of a deal man!!! And chad that was smart bro!!

comp56Member since Sep 2014

see that’s what HD does once in awhile. throws ya a bone to keep ya coming back……they said they would only honor 2 cause I had 2

DR99Member since Nov 2012

Home Depot isn’t supposed to sell you anything that clearances down to a penny. A lot of people have gotten burned seeing something marked down pretty good but then it rings up as a penny and your screwed. You have to go to self checkout and hope none notices. Anthing selling for a penny at HD is either supposed to be sent back to the manufacture or damaged out and tossed. Either way HD makes more money that way than selling something at a loss. You can also find some deals on online order returns that are not sent back sometimes either. I think I posted about it before one of the HD’s by me had like 5 of the M18 jigsaw bare tool on clearance, but the label never went down it never went cheaper than $95 at that price I wasn’t really interested. Then one day I check them out to see if anything changed they were all gone. I asked the tool guy and he had no idea what happened. It would have sucked if they were cheaper and they were just thrown away, or someone got all of them super cheap to resell. I still have a Makita LXT sander I haven’t used because I don’t have any batteries or a charger.

MikeyBMember since Dec 2014

That’s a great deal Comp, did you pick up any of the new carbide Sawzall blades from Diablo? I hear they will cut through cast iron pipe…

chadlanthierMember since Mar 2013

Sometimes we just get lucky. But when it happens we do a little dance after we leave the store.

madman_usMember since Sep 2014

really cool comp. you got a heck of a deal there, you saved big time 😛

DR99Member since Nov 2012

Actually Home Depot has a lot of Milwaukee M18 fuel stuff out of stock at the moment. I don’t know there is strike going on at the docks or what but I just noticed that HD usa has good deals on the Fuel impact wrenches

NicholasShetleyMember since Nov 2013

The price has been like that for a while but it has been out of stock for a while too.

DR99Member since Nov 2012

Yea, I’m kinda confused on why they can’t seem to restock those tools at all.

BigmikezMember since Jun 2013

Really DR on the impact wrenches? I’m gonna take a look im trying to get a pair of m18 batterys but I wouldn’t mind them coming with the fuel impact wrench

dude not your fault bad business for the company you work for however, made order for over $500 and everything in stock at time of order….turns out half my order went to back order……..WTF?

Do you have your order number I could check it out for you.

comp56Member since Sep 2014

rant: it’s not that bad it ends up back ordered, however it is bad for a website to take 3 days to tell you if anything they should have a real time counter at time of ordering…….6 in stock 5 in stock as they are ordered……I order a lot online from a lot of web sites and I have never come across this before…….rant over…….
