Anyone else watch it?
yes but little tired of his unlimited budget…….we all can’t fix a roof and end up with a $65,000 bathroom..
lol
I have watched a few times and the the other show that he does Holmes inspection and some of the things that he picks out he goes way overboard on. I have seen him find some obscure thing and look over something that was so blatant a blind man could have seen.
I love his shows but I dont c him on TV much anymore..
All I can think of right now is to Spray Foam everything!!! Like Regiopit he can be picky over things that don’t make sense, and like Comp56 mentioned he lives a world it seems where materials cost nothing. This Old House can be guilty of that too, but that show going in is pretty much all about big dollar renovations and product placement. You donate materials and equipment for camera time or a small segment on the show.
i really enjoy watching the shows, fun to watch what you can do with huge budgets, but id be more interested in a show that makes fixes with the least amount of budget, but i guess that never goes well with advertisers.
I watch it.
I like it.
I wish I had his budget for renos.
I do find myself checking out the tools being used more that what they are doing, though…
I like the show, but as others have said his budget is non existent. If I had the cash to do the kind of fixes and renovations he does, I could probably afford to buy a new house.
Stopped watching his show. But i WILL NEVER STOP WATCHING THIS OLD HOUSE!!!!! Like my Wife, my buddy Rufus my Festools, and Mountain Bike….they can pry it from my cold dead fingers 😉
Just so we are clear…if I ever have a son….his name will be….
Clint Norris Norm Schwarzenegger Kelby 🙂

I think its time for a new dog or another one ……
The people on this old house still pay big time they get some things donate but they have to pay a gift tax and Tom Silva cuts them a deal on some of the labor The only big benefit you may get you project done faster.
Not to mention you get to be part of their slightly awkward interviews…
Kidding. I love that show, Boston accents and all.
I used to watch this guy all the time, just hard to find in my area know
This was one show that I thought was good for the general public to see. As a contractor, ive noticed people’s perception of how long a job should take and what it should cost are so far off because of all these weekend kitchen remodel shows and super low budget/quality flip shows. Mike Holmes actually showed people that there is a downside to fast and cheap work and often renovations aren’t cheap to do it right.. I wish there were more shows like it and less of the other garbage.
Did u guys watch that show where he was a co host I think it was called Americas next contractor but not 100% sure, they used all craftsman tools..
I’ve mostly seen DeWalt with a few Festool units mixed in.
Good show. You learn a lot about Canadian building codes.
love watching him bc he always makes it right and when im in the trade i will wanna also make it right. And most of his jods are located in the GTA
What the heck is the GTA? Greater Toronto Area?
I enjoy his shows. I really like how if he sees a nail out of place, he will demo the whole room! Lol. And him and that spray foam…
I wonder if he has spray foam on him at all times!!
It’s a good show, I love seeing what tools they use up there, which are usually the same. And the Boston accent on This Old House is awesome, but I’m also partial.
Another cool show though not as manly is Property Brothers. Granted one of the brothers look a little to “pretty” to be a contractor, the stuff they do is pretty damn cool. Transforming some pretty crappy houses into very cool spaces
There was a workbench that had a tv lift in it, on property brothers.

yes
I used to watch those renovation realities those were pretty cool to watch also
Seems like when I am at the GF’s house I hole up in a quiet room and get my fix of outrageous budgets on repairs…
I thought GTA was grand theft auto.
Yep, most of his jobs are in the Los Santos/Vice City area
Nice conductor u play gta
as entertaining as it is only about 5% of the population can realistically afford the budgets he works with……a few years back a neighbour was contacted by the show after he sent them an email to do a segment with his house, their producer wanted a $50,000 retainer in place and that they would agree that the show and or Mike gets to pick the style/decor…..he passed……

It’s kinda funny timing actually. I played them all up thru Vice City. Vice City was one of the last games I ever bought before I got out of video games. Then several years later when I bought the kids a PS4, it came with GTA 5, so I’ve got to playing it again. Finished story mode a couple days ago actually. I played GTA 4 and Liberty City Stories for a couple weeks because someone left them at my house, but I never bought them.
Dan plays GTA too.
I have to say I dabled in the gta a few years ago, but never really finished them. Just recently got ps4 with grand theft auto 5, haven’t finished yet, but definitly will this time.
Man I miss playing old school Counter Strike back in the day. I was pretty darn good back then. I would get booted or called a hacker all the time it was fun cause I was a straight player never missed with the hacks I just had some killer aim and knew which guns worked best at the time. I also had a sweet low lag cable modem connection too. I’m sure that also helped things.
