Dewalt 36″ Tool Chest

Anyone have one of these? I am thinking of picking up another tool chest, this one mailing for my 20V/12V and M12 tools this looks like a good box to keep these in. Price is nice about $350 for the top and bottom box

I have always liked craftsman but don’t like the lift lock, I have a cheap stainless box for my mechanic tools that I like and it has a more fluent latch like a self-closing kitchen draw which this appears to have as well. I would love a giant 50″ tool box but not sure I got the room

What you guys think?

madman_usMember since Sep 2014

looks like a great chest.

I don’t really use those in my garage but everyone has different needs 😛

DR99Member since Nov 2012

I have seen them at Home Depot before not at that price before It was more like 600 for the entire set back then. They did mark them down eventually though. It seems like a decently made toolbox.

I’ve been seeing this one at HD it’s pretty badass if I save the funds I’m definitely gonna upgrade my box later to this one or it would be nice if they made it in black 2 with yellow writing

chadlanthierMember since Mar 2013

Hey thedon don’t u know that if u don’t post a picture u just confuse us. Lol. That tool box looks sweet.

DPSEliasMember since Mar 2014

Lol, I try to post links and stuff but for some reason the UI doesn’t work can accept it or close it then I lose my post has happened a few times to me so now I am scared.

I’ll keep this in mind for the future.

Ricky, I am looking at the Husky 52in box as well…..I am so torn so many choices not enough $$$$

DamianDMember since Dec 2013

I like this box.  My local store had one set up, drawers slide nice.  Seems to be of decent quality, especially for the price.  I just wish they had a black one with yellow lettering

RickyMcGrathMember since Oct 2014

The only thing you should know about them is the slide/lock mechanism has a slight spring action to it so when you close the drawer all your little tools, wrenches and screwdrivers slide to the rear. Kind of irritated me after I spent an hour sorting and lining up my open ends in numerical order.

DPSEliasMember since Mar 2014

Doesn’t this come with non-slip mats? and if so don’t they stop the tools from sliding?

chadlanthierMember since Mar 2013

Need some drawer inserts. Thedon had problem with photos to, had to downsize them. Other thing to try, post then edit post.

The mats are in each drawer, but that dont really work for lighter hand tools.

Just picked this up today for $350 and it was the last one in the store. I’m pretty excited to set it up.

NordrawMember since Dec 2012

Home Depot is getting them back sometime next year I was told

man I really hope so cus that will definitely be on my list once my funds can accumulate again
DPSEliasMember since Mar 2014

I haven’t decided if I wanted this one or the Husky 52 incher. They both look like they were made from the same manufacturer as it’s looks similar but larger….. But I might pick this up for my “House” tools and power tools.

Duns221Member since Dec 2014

looks cool, dan and eric did a review on it if you want more information.

NordrawMember since Dec 2012

I talked to the guy at the Beaumont store and he said that is what he heard. Get more sometime in January of next year.

BigmikezMember since Jun 2013

Man if they still have these around during my income tax I’m super jumping on one of these

Jason SnyderMember since Dec 2014

i picked mine up at homedepot this month. So far i love it and for the price it can’t be beat.

snohikerMember since Mar 2015

I got the box last December on sale.  I love the box well built good locks but I would prefer the same key top and bottom or the option of a twist lock as you can see its mounted to the wall in my work trailer and every time I move I have to lock it but that goes for any box I looked at. I removed the stops on the bottom draw so it would open all the way and ill tell ya you can fit a lot of yellow in that draw

ChrisKMember since Dec 2012

Welcome to the forum snohiker. I unfortunately missed out on the lower portion and just got the chest. Love it though. Really nice addition to my shop.

BigmikezMember since Jun 2013

Your first born 🙂

I’d be interested in a black dewalt box, but I was digging the bright yellow as I was going to use it for my dewalt tools.

BigmikezMember since Jun 2013

What?!? There fading out the yellow! They should offer both I like the look of the yellow ones.

MikeyBMember since Dec 2014

That’s a slick looking box snohiker

ChrisKMember since Dec 2012

Hmmm I could get the rolling chest in black with my yellow top. That’d be cool.

Poisonfangs85Member since Feb 2015

Any pics of the black boxes?

RickyMcGrathMember since Oct 2014

Yellow ones are slowly popping up at Home Depots in Houston. Saw one at two stores this week.

BigmikezMember since Jun 2013
