That thing is pretty neat! It’s crazy how much more lax the safety standards were back then!!
Does it do anything other than table saw? Looks like it could be a lathe and drill press also.. maybe disc sander or bench grinder also with the right attachments
it actually is and does all those things its the complete set up……

Shop Smith fizzled out and was resurrected a couple times over the years. They’re still around I believe.
It was envisioned as a “do all tool” for the smaller garages and shops of post WWII suburbia, but the venture proved to a failure for the most part. There were some real SS lovers out there, but not enough to keep the brand afloat.
It was passed around a few times and was even owned by the employees at one point, but as history has proven, tool users generally prefer specific tools for specific jobs.
They still have a following, then again, so does Hitler.
