Today, I saw with my own eyes, in person, proof of new tools coming from Makita by the end of the year
NOVEMBER:
5.0ah batteries
2 port battery charger. http://professional-power-tool-guide.com/power-tool-forum/index.php?/topic/4914-two-port-multi-fast-charger-dc18rd/ (Charges 2 batteries in the same ti.e it currently takes to charge 1)
BRUSHLESS 6.5″ circular saw!!!! http://toolguyd.com/makita-brushless-circular-saw/ (European model DHS680, ours won’t be same model number) I don’t even think it’s avaliable in Europe/overseas yet!!
DECEMBER
Oil impulse driver. http://toolguyd.com/makita-18v-oil-pulse-impact-driver/
There was some other random stuff but just small consumable things.. I didn’t pay much attention to it
Unfortunately no mention of the brushless jigsaws or new dtd148 impact
This is some great news for us makita fans!!
sounds good, ive been tempted to jump on the new brushless kits, even though i dont need them, those kits come with the 4.0 ah battery, but the deals are almost too tempting to pass up. even the the older 3.0 ah batteries are going dirt cheap right now. a sign of new stuff to come soon.
It’s always nice to seen new tools coming out.
I might…..MIGHT….be interested in the brushless saw. To this day my favorite cordless circular saw was my Makita. Light and easy to use. Still…it’s going to be a hard choice between that and the Fuel.
Man with that rafter hook it looks so much like a copy of the Milwaukee fuel circular saw. I know its just that every circular saw pretty much looks the same anyways besides color. Does Dewalt still have two different 20v max circular saws. When they launched if you got the tool in a kit you got a staped steel shoe over magnesium, and the recp didn’t have an adjustable shoe and possibly the 4 way blade holder. I’m not 100% on the blade holder though.
Hooray for USA releases !
Alrighht makita!!
Makita USA seems to be waking up by importing the newer Brushless tools quickly =)
Seems that the jigsaw is not on the horizon for ths year anyhow maybe 2015. But u never know.
I can’t believe what a spoiled little whiner I am, but I sure would like some of the different colored tools they offer in Japan…
heck yea BK!
Aching for a pink impact ? 😛 haha
Me too BK. I’ve seen the limited run Makita in Black and that is cool. Plus save the boobies pink would be pretty cool too. Maybe a dark blue with bright green lettering…,,,hmmmmmmmm 😉

I’m not so sure DR, I really love the looks of the Fuel and the 7-1/4″ is a big deal but…I hate to admit, my old Makita LXT saw was pretty sweet and with the DC nozzle…that brings a new element to my little wood shop. Still I’ll probably go red though. I mean cmon!

Ahh, don’t be a hater just because your jealous!! 😉 it must be hard watching Makita beating up I’m Milwaukee! LOL. Just messing my man!
DR, I’m not sure on the Dewalt stuff.. gotta be someone around here that knows!

Um Chris, I think your getting a little confused with all that green coolaid you’ve been drinking lately!! 🙂 just put a Makita sticker on your festool drills and you will have prototypes!

Nice find!! I’ve been checking their new product page but never thought to look at the press releases
looks like things are pushed about a month back from what I saw.
The exciting news is the XDT09. I’m betting it’s the DTD148!!!
It is 😛
looks like a lot of new stuff to add to a wish list……

Hell yeah!! I was hoping it was, thanks for confirming! I couldn’t find any info that directly linked the two..
I really don’t need another impact driver, but man does that DTD148 look awesome.
They got them on ebay for 209. Straight from japan
I’d like to see makita come out with a 12v brushless line.
No plans for that at this moment according to my makita representative 🙂 the markets where makita is very big: europe and their home country really dont have too big 12 volt sales yet 🙂
I don’t know nothing from nothing, but I would think that just in N. America alone, if they were competitive with Milwaukee’s M12 Fuel line, 12v brushless would sell enough to turn a profit for Makita.
I’ve been building a line of Makita 18 volt tools recently. Really like the new brushless drills and impact drivers. Anxiously awaiting the brushless circular saw. It should give the Milwaukee 2730 some competition.
You and me both man! I can’t wait for that thing to get here. I use my 6.5″ lxt saws more than my 7.25″ 18v x2.. the old ones could really use an update though.. i heard from a dealer that they will be avaliable Jan 1 but don’t quote me.
So. where the hell are my 5.0 batteries?

I’ve seen them on amazon and ebay.. check those places and you could also call your preferred makita dealer and they could probably hook you up.
I’m jonesing for the new brushless 6.5″ circular saw.. I heard from a dealer that they would have it posted on Jan 1 and no sign yet.. I figure it has to do with the new year holiday and weekend.
I’ll have to keep patient
Patience ^^
XDT09… Winter 2015… Jeez, guys, can you be a little more vague? It’s winter 2015 right now! Grrr….

Haha. I know. They seem to suck at sticking to dates for new tool releases anyway so even if they gave a date I wouldn’t hold my breath.. it will come.. that’s what I keep repeating over and over in my head. Lol 🙂
Yeah. Man, being a marketing flak for the tool companies must be a very stressful job…
so i just heard from a makita dealer that sells a lot on ebay and usually gets things in and posts them faster than most other businesses that he should be getting the dual port chargers next week sometime and both the xsh03 brushless 6.5″ circ saw and xdt09 tiny brushless impact by the end of February
seller “bishoptools” on ebay his website is http://www.bishoptools.com he has a retail location in florida
great guy, ive only dealt with him through ebay but his prices are good, he ships fast and is very responsive to questions.
Thanks, John! Should be able to save enough by the end of February for an XDT09….
M80, good catch on the xvj02! i have been wanting the barrel grip version of that to come to the states.. i wonder why it didnt come at the same time. hopefully they ill bring it.
The brushless jig saws have been out here for a few months in Belgium. Lovely tools 🙂
Barrel grip version sells very well. Alot of carpenters prefer it.
A very nice feature is the “soft no load”. If there isn’t any pressure applied to the blade the motor will automatically shift down to a slow speed. Less noise. Less battery usage and you can much more easily ( Lack of english vocabulary imminent NOW ! ) and precisaly align the blade to the wood where you want to start your cut.
As soon as you apply pressure on the wood the tool will rev up.
Very cool !
That’s similar to my Carvex but I’m gonna get crazy and say makitas feature sounds a little nicer! On the Festool it is in soft start mode only until the first time you apply pressure to the blade.. it won’t slow back down again until you turn it off.. there are times when I’m cutting in and out of a board and wish it would slow itself down between cuts without turning the tool off.
The noise and battery usage are bonuses to me but it is really about how much easier and cleaner you can start the cut that I love about it.
Now I want the dang Makita even more!!
Sorry to dissapoint you Ner 😀 The makita also does not slow down unless you release the trigger 😀
Hey Korno,
any insider info on whats next for Makita? im anxious to hear more about what they have planned for their cordless reciprocating saw revamp
Hey man !
I dont have anything new unfortunatly.
Im actually quite displeased with the new tools that are coming to belgium next month 🙁 were not even getting the brushless circ saw/ brushless drywall screwdriver.
Was hoping for those but makita belgium dissapoints :/
