Bought the Dewalt DCG412 brushed grinder about an hour ago,it looks like a quality tool but I’ve realised there’s no on board storage for the spanner when changing the blade..I’m just wondering if anyone else has one and if so where do u store it?

Quick-Change – its a wrench-free wheel change system 😛

madman_usMember since Sep 2014

Or just leave your wrench in at home or in your tool bag when u really want to use it 😛

i had that tool today in my hand when i was at HD

First job tomorrow is to cut some aluminium brackets,I’ll let u know how it goes & see if a can get my work mate to take a pic..

I’m guessing you mean this madman?

I don’t have a 412, I do have the 411, which is the 18V version. I never thought about it before, because I carry it with the grinder in a bag with the spare grinding and cut off wheels. I throw a spare battery in if the job warrants it.

that what I would do too

Frain20Member since Feb 2014

Right I got to use the beast today..Ild say it Deffinetly drained the battery faster than any other cordless dewalt tool I own,but it still managed 15 cuts of 3mm aluminium all 120mm long before I had to change the 4ah battery..

I had to change the blade on the last 2 and noticed the locking ring had worked loose, probably due to me not knowing how much pressure to put on the disc when cutting..

ya not too bad

Il be honest ,I was hoping for more..but again it’s the first time I’ve used it and I’m guessing runtime will get better, knowing how to use the grinder..that and they weren’t a big branded disc(not that I’m aware of anyway)

BigmikezMember since Jun 2013

keep us informed though Frain ive been wanting to get this in bare tool but ended up getting a corded one just cus I was a lil skeptical on it due to it being a battery tool and these suck a lot of juice

madman_usMember since Sep 2014

@Frain20: ya runtime will get better…u just need to use the battery a few more often

Frain20Member since Feb 2014

Handy little tools this..just had one of those “itl only take you five minutes” jobs from the boss! So glad I had the grinder in the boot because this threshold would of took the biscuit to cut with a hacksaw..

I had three of them to do and never broke a sweat!

BigmikezMember since Jun 2013

Cool man!!

madman_usMember since Sep 2014

BigmikezMember since Jun 2013

Frain r u gonna try to get some 5ah battery for that bad boy?

Frain20Member since Feb 2014

Hopefully my next kit will come with 5ah so il use them..I’ve got five 4ah upto now but equally the same amount of tools,I could do with some more..might have to see what Santa brings haha

BigmikezMember since Jun 2013

Yea me 2 man!

madman_usMember since Sep 2014

hopefully the battery don’t make your tool so much heavier.

I feel a huge weight difference between my 2Ah and 4Ah batteries when I use my drills

BigmikezMember since Jun 2013

Frain go to Toolnut and click on the dewalt and they have the 5.0ah battery’s on sale

madman_usMember since Sep 2014
