Save the boobies….use pink tools this month!

As you all should know this month is Breast Cancer Awareness month. At work it is encouraged to wear pink in support of awareness and research support. One of the guys I work with always brings in his pink tool set and tries to do all of the jobs that he can with them.

BigmikezMember since Jun 2013

hey that’s a cool idea! SAVE THE BOOBIES!!!!

madman_usMember since Sep 2014

looks like a tool set my wife would use

BigmikezMember since Jun 2013

I actually bought this set at sears for  my wifey  that she picked out for herself, she said my tools are to complicated to use thank God cus I wouldn’t feel safe going to work knowing she was using them ;)lol!

madman_usMember since Sep 2014

omg that is funny – haha

tascher1Member since May 2014

If only one of the quality brands would come out with some pink tool action. Would you buy a pink DeWalt impact?

madman_usMember since Sep 2014

I would buy a pink Bosch tool if the amount would go towards a charity

BigmikezMember since Jun 2013

I sure would ,I have a very dear friend of mine who passed away from cancer 2yrs ago she was one of the strongest person ive had the pleasure of entering in my life so to represent pink is a honor for me and if I cant get my Dewalt impact in pink that would be awesome!!

madman_usMember since Sep 2014

sad to hear that

regopitMember since Feb 2013

My first wife passed away from breast cancer when she was 38. That was 20 years ago and I have to say that the pink in support of awareness and research has made a change. Not so much as a cure but the help and support the patient’s get.

BigmikezMember since Jun 2013

Sorry to hear that Regopit…. The help and support for the patients is so huge now and it great they have that

BK13Member since Nov 2013

If somebody, say, Snap On, would do pink comfort grip ratchets, I’d spring for one or six…

madman_usMember since Sep 2014

yeah I agree to that

BK13Member since Nov 2013

Or screwdrivers, or pry bars…

BigmikezMember since Jun 2013

Yup these big name brands should jump on this to support

madman_usMember since Sep 2014

if one company would start with it – others would follow

tascher1Member since May 2014

Maybe even just starting out with some DeWalt, Milwaukee….(insert your fav brand) T-shirts geared towards the cause. I think its cool that even harden tradesmen can help support this great cause by wearing some pink this month. Seems like the disease has affected quite a bit of us just on this forum alone.

BigmikezMember since Jun 2013

gear would be  awesome 2!!

Man, I was really trying to keep my inner hoodlum kid in check, but I like supporting boobies…

LOL

DR99Member since Nov 2012

I would be nice if the big companies offered some special edition tools. Snap on made a pink tool box with 10% going to research. I think it looks pretty cool myself.

I had to link to the garagejournal thread the picture wouldn’t upload.

that’s cool DR!

Mac tools has a whole line of stuff that funds breast cancer. Its a campaign called “wrenching for a cure”.

This is this months catalog Cover.

You can order almost any tool chest from mac tools and have it come in pink and support breast cancer.

Because Us Mechanics love boobies and big chests.

Thanks Samuel! Do you know what % goes to funding research?? lol we all love big chests!!!

BigmikezMember since Jun 2013

DR also found the chest and I think it said 10% was going to help research

Well that’s the snap on chest.

I couldn’t find out the % donated when you buy the mac chest. Oh and turns out you can also buy pink mac service carts too.

I might talk to the mac tools guy who comes to the place I had my summer job last year, latter today.

It wouldn’t be to surprising if Klein made some pink handled tools considering they already have done a “Support our Troops” lineman’s pliers.

BigmikezMember since Jun 2013

That would be cool!

Samuel L.Member since Sep 2014

Yea I talked to my mac tools guy he says when you buy a pink utility cart or tool chest/tool chest add on in pink 15% goes towards breast cancer reasurch

DR99Member since Nov 2012

Do they have a cap at how much they donate. Some companies to that we will donate 15% till they reach 100k in donations. I don’t like bs like that, but it’s very common.

Well because they offer it all year long I don’t think so.

Lend a hand. Save a boob.

BK13Member since Nov 2013

I was going to look for a Mac tool cart, but their website may be even worse than Snap On’s new site or even Matco’s…

BigmikezMember since Jun 2013

CRAZY prices huh BK…

BK13Member since Nov 2013

Nah, I’m used to looking at Snap On prices, so Mac wasn’t really a big deal. One day I WILL have a Snappy KRSC…

Conductor562Member since Nov 2011

Sad thing is Mac recently re-did their site. I think it’s worse than it was before

Samuel L.Member since Sep 2014

I have one of the new Mac and Snap on catalogs in my bedroom, that’s the only way I can manage to find out about their tools.

BK13Member since Nov 2013

Yeah, I have a Snap On and a Matco on my desk. Snap On’s site went way down hill after a fairly recent redesign, but Matco’s is horrible. Unless you already have an item number, good luck finding anything…

madman_usMember since Sep 2014

I just checked out the page. its really a pain in the a$$ to find something

DR99Member since Nov 2012

The worst part is somebody made a crap-load of money designing and coding the webpages. I bet they might have even subcontracted to coding of the page to India possibly. Software companies do a lot of that now the like manufacturing the design work is done here and then the actual coding is off shored to a cheaper labor pool this case its usually India with software development not China like manufacturing physical products.

BigmikezMember since Jun 2013

Wow DR how u know all this stuff??

DR99Member since Nov 2012

I think its I just like to read articles and I do IT work on the side. I’m always reading the occasional tech article. I used to be a big computer nerd gamer back in the day. Not so much now I was all about having the fastest computer I could afford 🙂

Gaming back in the day. I remember having to boot up in DOS to play Doom because with 4 megs of ram you could not run doom and windows at the same time. Then when you dropped 150 bucks for 4 more megs of ram you were on fire. Then Unreal Tournament then Halo for PC. Now it is all Playstation or Xbox. I can’t remember the last time a played a game

madman_usMember since Sep 2014

the technology is so fast growing

BigmikezMember since Jun 2013

I have a ps3 that I only use for blue ray and the kiddos games but my lil bro has gta5 and man that game is crazy with all the crap u can do on there.and Doom was the coolest game at that time…
