Less then three months ago I saw dealt had a tape measure that A. Supported the wounded warrior foundation.and B.was made in America.a no brainer so I picked with high hopes…. they were short lived. The standout is decent but the locking mechanism shortly failed. Has anyone else had the same luck?

They should send you a new one.
I also picked up that same one, mine is still working fine so far. Might be an QA issue and you should look into that.
Still had the receipt, so I was able to exchange it for a new one… it does make me feel better knowing it may just be a fluke.

DeWalt does seem to have “sold out” a little with selling everything with their name on it now at Home Depot and stuff looks a little on the cheap side. I have a DeWalt tape too and it is still working but hasn’t had all that much use. The locking mech. works but is a little loose it seems like it doesn’t lock real tight.

Dewalt lead the charge on brand saturation. I suppose it worked.
