So i was at work the other day and a co-worker busted out this bad boy and actually used it!!! worked great! But I can’t remember what he cut with it…lol
I also found it interesting that it resembles the new Milwaukee design….
In the words of Indian Jones that tool belongs in a Museum!! Still its cool to see old power tools still getting used its even more rare to see old cordless power tools to be used on a regular basis. For most people once the battery dies they move on to a new tool.
You have now entered….. The Twilight Zone….. I did a Google search and see that Makita still makes these batteries, that blows me away. I guess though, DeWALT will still make the 18v XRP NiCd long after the tools are discontinued.
The guy who put the interior in my grandpas truck has the drill that uses the same battery. It even has a keyed chuck. It has the perfect amount of power for interior work.

18v tools haven’t been discontinued. They just came out with a band saw a few months back.

Yes Brien, I know this. I believe that I said that they will continue to make the XRP batteries long after the tools are discontinued, i.e; the future… But again, grammar and sentence structure are not my fine points. For all I know this is what I actually typed: Yeah, those XRP tools will never be sold again and DeWALT suggests that you discard them and buy 20v MAX immediately.
My mistake. I don’t read good… Or type good… Or spell good… Or feel good…
