I like the look of this beauty but is it going to sway me away from the paslode?
What’s the weight compared to paslode, can we use the same nails, how many nails per charge, price, will it be in a tough case?
I don’t like the dewalt finish nailer just couldn’t get used to it compared to my paslode but I suppose its just what you get used to.

I can’t remember the nail count per charge, but it was more than adequate. Plus, no gas! This runs on battery only. Nothing else like it on the market. I got to play with a prototype unit, and it is freaking sweet!
I’ve been waiting for this forever, I hate dealing with gas cartridges, misfires, another battery system, etc. The speed isn’t even that important, but if it’s a flywheel type, that would be pretty cool. Ability to bump out a few at a time. Personally I’d prefer non-flywheel type though, just a spring recharge of some sort between shots. I only used my cordless nailer for odds and ends, can never replace pneumatic when you’re shooting 5,000 a day per gun.
From what I’ve heard it’s going to be 9 lbs, will only drive about 800 nails per charge, and cost $549! The trim tool was too slow and heavy for me, so this will be even worse in my framing. Even though gas is a pain, I’ll stick with the power/weight Paslode gives me. Plus, you can buy a lot of gas cartridges for the extra $150!
A 20v Pin nailer would be sweet too……
Mr yellow you beat me to it I was just about to upload these vids!
I’m gonna grab me one of these in January, I like the fact it will fit Inbetween 400 centres that is a nice little touch.
From what I’ve seen and heard I like it, but have to try it to decide if I will buy one.
We are longtime users of the Max CN565S coilnailers. These are one step below the regular 90mm framing nailers in terms of nail lengths. Which for our use are too much. Especially for ceilings and stuff the CN565S is perfect because it’s very lightweight.
I’ve tried a Paslode gas nailer once, but returned it after one day. Too heavy and too bulky and no bump fire mode.
I hope/wish they would make a 32-65mm cordless coilnailer. That would seriously rock!
I hope there is going to be a 16g brad nailer to match this also.
This thing is pretty cool, I never thought I’d see a framing nailer with just a battery…I’m sure marketers are smarter then me but not sure why a brad mailer couldn’t be released at the same time? I guess if you stay with the 18v line this will make you want to switch over
wow. i’d love to give it a try.
I’ve been wanting this for a long time! Every time I took my cordless up on a roof setting trusses it would quit for some reason or another. Delay boom truck at $200 an hour, etc. This also seems faster than a passlode, though still slow for sheathing.
Does this nailer have a low nail lockout feature to prevent dry firing? Couldn’t find this info anywhere yet.
Yes, it does.
i want one seriously, for the work my godd ! when is it going to be in canada ??
I can’t wait til this is out, I have the 15 and 16 guage cordless nailers now and love them. They are a bit heavier than the paslode, which I have, but I hate the fuel cells! The temp can’t be too cold or too hot cause they are very picky. I do wish the new nailer was 18 volt, i have all 18 and some 12v for the smaller jobs, really didn’t want to buy 20volt batteries too. Any plans to also make 1 in the 18v line?
This is (in my opinion) never gonna be made to fit the ‘plug in’ style 18v batteries… The power and efficiency of the New 18volt (Europe) 20v Max (U.S.) means that eventually all tools will be fazed out on the older platform, and re-designed on the New..
The older battery technology would not be able to deliver the performance for the New Nailer either.. Once you’ve tried the 20v Max system, you’ll switch over (trust me)…
The New Nailer totally rocks. I used it on a job-site in the UK 2 weeks ago, and the temp was minus 2.5…. The Paslode’s (4 on site) would mis-fire due to the sustained minus degrees (and the guys were switching cells and warming up between uses) whereas the Dewalt rocked along..
The Paslodes could only manage 3-7 shots before mis-firing, whereas we rocked along with 500-600 shots with the Dewalt with no issues…. apart from needing to switch out batteries for a re-charge…
I’ve had one since October last year. Had it on test . At first when I heard it only used battery power I thought it can’t be any good but I was wrong its an amazing bit of kit.
Can you use it with the smaller AH 20v max batteries?

You can use it with whatever AH battery you want… All you got to remember is that the battery is the ‘size of the tank’.. If you put a 3.0ah battery on it you’ll probably only get 450 nails per charge (90mm) rather than the 600 stated with the 4.0ah.
I believe that there is no differences in shots depending on nail size either.. It produces the same impact force regardless of Nail size…
That’s what I figured…I have a number of 1.5 AH batteries and would trade off number of shots for some weight savings. Anything job that takes more then a few hundred nails I would pull out the compressor anyways.
Thanks
when is it going to be out in canada ?? i really want to know i will buy it now !!! does someone know ?
Should be out in next 60 days ;D
DOES ANYONE KNOW ABOUT THE PRICE IN CANADA?? PLEASE TELL ME I WANT ONE SO I CAN SAVE FOR IT
I was at a tool show on Friday and was talking to the Dewalt Rep and she said at this nailer had some problems during testing and Eval. I was told that this nailer got pushed back til next year, any truth to this?
I reckon thats nonsense… I think the truth is that they cannot produce them quick enough for Europe.. They have sold around 3500 units in a couple of months, and they have had 15 returned for small issues.. Sales are booming, and the main issue with the gun is meeting the supply for the demand…
I will not speak to the launch date, but the reason for the delayed launch has nothing to do with it having problems or any issues. He unit is killer, and will be worth waiting for. There are other things going on to cause the delay, but have nothing to do with the quality.
I’ve been using mine for a little while, it’s amazing bit of kit. Get it out of the box and go not like the paslodes that we all love to hate.
Although they say it will fire 90mm ring shanks, it can’t seem to sink them enough this is what the paslodes also struggle with.
Other than that its great. Bump mode is very good although I seem to get a bit trigger happy when firring like this.
If you’ve not got one or are thinking of getting one just bite the bullet you won’t regret it.
Sorry about the previous post, I did not mean to imply a quality issue, just something dewalt noticed duringtesting and theywant to make sure its perfect. I am yellow and black through and through, I had been praying it would be outfor this show so I could own it, frost is coming out of ground soon and have big framing jobs I would love it on. The only thing I’m a bit disappointed in is that it is only in 20v, I have 15 or 16 Li-ion batteries and cant even begin to guess how many Nicad and really didnt want to get new batteries, chargers…..oh well. I did test the brushless 20v impact and love it!
Yah, it’s not being delayed for any kind of quality issue or anything related. It is for sale in certain European markets right now, it is just being delayed in other markets for some unrelated reasons.
