Just purchased today the 734 Planer. Manual shows Turret stop which it says is used to for repettive planing – with presets at 0″ 1/4″, 1/2 and 3/4″. I don’t understand, since most of these dimensions are too large (above specification) for how much material you can remove. Can anyblody help me understand what the turret stop is used for? (have never owned or operated a planer before – but have 1,000 board feet of material – so looking forward……).
