i have a type 2 and by buddy has a type 3. his seems stronger faster & louder somethings deff different. btw both have only been used about the same amount of time.. we got them brand new off craigslist factory sealed in the box. mine with a date code of 2008 his is 2010
The Pinion Shaft, Driven Pulley, were a few changes. This could account for the noise change. A few other changes were made, none however that would contribute to your question.
