hmmmmm

MadtecMember since Jun 2010

Pics should not be available until the official release date is confirmed and authorized by DeWalt.  Just be careful if any unauthorized images is posted and we certainly do not want the hammer to fall on this site and DeWalt to not renew the lic agreement.

Don’t get me wrong, i am all for getting some sneak peek on what’s coming out, just be sure it is not something too sensitive

kanxrusMember since Jan 2009

I will pull down anything not authorized, or pre-launched by DEWALT!!!!!!!!

Mr. YellowMember since Jan 2011

Looking at a picture with the new 18v circular saw, I wondered….why do circular saws in the EU have the handle behind the blade and US saws have the handle in front of the blade…

(looking at it while holding in left hand)

Just out of curiosity. I’m a lefty so the EU models suit me well  8)

Mr. YellowMember since Jan 2011

Europe will get a new laser distance measurer. No big update though. Just going from 30m to 40m range.

It’s the DW040P. Same case, same look.

A national magazine tested several laser distance measurers. The DeWalt (DW030P) came out as one of the cheapest, with minimal funcions, but with the best durability for jobsite toughness. I learned most measurers are the same on the inside. All made by Leica.

And I noticed on the UK website there’s a survey for a collated screwgun. That’s up my alley.

Let’s see what this will bring (or not) 😉

Got the DW030, it is a blast to use

I just got mine a few days ago, and am still playing with it.  Definitely a cool tool!  Coolest new tool to my collection however is the D25980K that I picked up today!  I will probably never get to use it myself (it is a demo tool, and honestly I don’t demo concrete all that often!) but anytime you get to have a tool like that in the garage is sweet!  🙂

midogrumpyMember since Jan 2010

wait til you see the dw088 !

I´ll keep you posted

MadtecMember since Jun 2010

Seen it…..

Mr. YellowMember since Jan 2011

I got the DW030P also. First I had a Stanley. Although it worked well I didn’t like the buttons.

I passed it to my brother and got me the DeWalt instead.

But wait….what….DW088…. ??

All I know is that this modelnumber is in the range of laser tools….

You guys know too much (or I am too curious) ;D

Mr. YellowMember since Jan 2011

Pffff. Not really news, but I discovered DeWalt has discontinued all pneumatic tools (nailers) in Europe.

Well, here’s hoping they don’t give up on the cordless nailers…

Discontinue the cordless nailer?  Not a chance, cant wait to get my hands on the next gen version, had the current 18v one but i gave it to my dad, now all i have is the 14.4v version.  I used the 18v one to shoot at drivers who cut me off on the highway………..

Mr. YellowMember since Jan 2011

I meant EU. US will certainly keep the nailers as they use more woodwork/framing in construction.

The end user rep also told me that the cordless nailers will stay, but all air tools are discontinued.

Looking forward to next gen. Any idea if they will come this year?

BingobelleMember since Feb 2010

For what I know air nailers is much more efficient so why do Dewalt stop making them. My carpenter friend have a MAX air screwnailer and it is very nice. You do not have to push so hard against the wall.

MadtecMember since Jun 2010

This is because of the merger with Stanley, so i think they will focus on one brand for the pneumatic nailers which would be bostitch.  I wont be surprised that to see some new stuff from them

Mr. YellowMember since Jan 2011

Ah true. I never thought of that. Bostitch is all about nailers and everything associated.

Also learned today from Toolstop (UK) that they expect delivery of the new 18v XR line in early June.

That’s just a month away. Press release shouldn’t be too far away now I guess…. 🙂

They also mentioned there are a few new special tools they can’t talk about yet… wonder what this is….

cyclone700Member since Jan 2011

I wouldn’t be surprised if the nailers go the same route some of these new Dewalt handtools have.  Just badge engineering.  I would expect to see Dewalt brand Bostich pneumatic nailers at some point.

kanxrusMember since Jan 2009

From what I’ve seen, 90% of the DEWALT hand tools are unique from the Stanley FATMAX line, in one aspect or another.

Mr. YellowMember since Jan 2011

Stores are slowly getting ready. It seems that in the first week of June they will receive delivery of the new XR tools.

A certain UK store already has pics and prices up. Some interesting things…

kanxrusMember since Jan 2009

Looks like they are already getting prepped for the Pre-Launch online. Already pictures, combo kits, and batteries.

Battery

Combo Kit

All Dewalt Listings

Looks like a lot of great stuff!

Mr. YellowMember since Jan 2011

Keep an eye out on Toolstop’s YouTube channel.

They are currently at the DeWALT/Stanley training centre in the UK to test new stuff.

Here’s a little teaser…

The new hamer drill looks serious business.

hi

nice !!

so are there more pictures ?

any other tools to com along with these ?

midogrumpyMember since Jan 2010

Hi

just of interest;

who did you get the “go from ” to publish

Dewalt USA

Dewalt UK / Dewalt Marketing ???

when do you expect flyers/ brochures; a bit more marketing material and of course PRICES ???

thx

framerMember since Jan 2011

interesting.  so no 20v max?  now the 18v xr?

midogrumpyMember since Jan 2010

hi

20V max is the same as 18XR

in the USA this description “max” is preffered;

(not sure if the new series will also be called 20V max)

same like in 10,8V

in Europe ethey are called 10,8V, while in USA they are 12V max (nominal 10,8V)

but they are identical; just a matter of market view and competition products

I’m no insider so I don’t know much. These are the only pictures I have which shows some of the new tools.

Yeah, there’s more to come. Cordless hamerdrill, angled screwdriver. I guess further down the road also a jigsaw and whatnot.

It will replace the current 18v line, so you kinda know what to expect.

ehh, does DEWALTDUDE also count? 😉

I guess it’s safe to post this now as shops are getting ready and pics are appearing in online stores.

Today I was at my local DeWALT Center. I just missed the DeWALT sales rep who came by. They now have a clear-out sale of the old 18v line to make room for the new line. They had a stack of new brochures on the counter, but still wrapped. It didn’t really hit me untill I was back at the jobsite. Should have ask for one. Also posters with “XR” and coming soon.

Maybe I’ll go back saturday to get some more info. Was in a hurry today (working hours)

(I have a package coming in tomorrow from a DeWALT dealer from Germany. Hopefully he added some brochures and stuff)

Prices I do not know.

interesting.  so no 20v max?   now the 18v xr?

In Europe it’s 18v XR. In the US it’s 20v MAX, just like the 12v MAX range.

Midogrumpy is right. In EU the new 12v line is called 10.8v. Same tools, same everything, just a different name.

GREAT, NOW I GOT TO SELL ALL MY OLD TOOLS TO GET THE NEW & COOL STUFF!!!!

I dont know if this new line will take-off like the current 18v line, you can find the tools & batteries everywhere for the past 15 years.  I will admit if its anything like the new 12v MAX stuff, it will be easy on the hand.  I’m surprised Dewalt is changing the 18v style so soon since they just came out with the nano base tools & batteries less then 2 years ago.  This would make a lot of new stuff obsolite, like the DC012 radio charger.  Dewalt having the same style 18v tools since 1996 is the first reason I decided to start buying them.  I hope Dewalt is planning on making the current line of 18v batteries for a long time, so guys like me (who has a few thousand dollars invested in their tools) wont be left in the dark.

No you wont be left in the dark trust me, the tower 18v line will still be available…….Second wave is here and much more to come……

roadhog96Member since Jan 2011

They will be available for how many years? DeWalt’s not saying for how long they will support the currant line of tools with batteries and service parts. I bet they will estimate how long it will take to deplete currant inventory and then figure the average life of the tools probably based on commercial uses then pull the plug for these tools. Their commited to going forward with the new design tools and they ain’t looking back. I’ve been through this before with other manufactures. Their not interested in the old design just the new and they will drop the support when they feel their ready. If you have the old style tools you will just have to buy new.

StevenMember since Nov 2009

I will keep my old dead battery packs for now on (don’t trade them in for recycling when buying new) and if that time comes just have someone put new cells inside.

That’s a nice new laser. Especially the 90 degree corners you can lay-out with it 🙂

Whoever is telling you guys that the 18 volt line is going away is 100%, absolutely, and completely lying to you.  18v is here to stay, we are still investing in it, adding new tools to the line up, upgrading models, etc.  Though there may (or may not) be a new line coming out in the near future, it will be an ADDITIONAL line to the 18v, not a replacement.  There is never a time line on how long a line will be offered, but there are no plans to stop making 18v, stop developing 18v, stop improving 18v, or anything else.  The 18v system is a proven system with a ton of user loyalty; any additional system (if any) will be to go after users that are not satisfied with the 18v line and want another option.  SO LET THE RUMORS AND INCORRECT INFORMATION STOP HERE! The 18v line is here to stay.

With the current 20v max / 18v XR talk everywhere I forgot about the gossip from new cordless finish nailers.

Is there any update on those as to when we can expect them? This year or next year or… ? 🙂

I guess it will be part of the 20v Max / 18v XR line?

midogrumpyMember since Jan 2010

NIce collection!  You need to get the DCF88kL2 as well though!  In my humble opinion, that is the best tool in the launch!  Also, if you do much concrete drilling, the DCH213L2 is pretty killer as well.

midogrumpyMember since Jan 2010

Hi

what tool is the  DCF88kL2;

also ggogle has no info on it;

maybe even a picture ?

instead of  DCH213L2 I will get delivered next week the  DCH214L2

same drill 2 interchangable chucks (1x sds, 1x normal)

any answers to my other questions ?

mike

midogrumpyMember since Jan 2010

oh, ok

dcf88kl is the impact driver

I do have it, but not as a C2 version with 1,5Ah battery

i only have 3,0AH batteries

kjonesMember since Oct 2010

Sorry, I didn’t notice the typo.  I meant the DCF885L2.  But you did guess right, it is the impact driver with the 3.0amp/hour battery.

roadhog96Member since Jan 2011

Well now that the new 20V MAX is available in the USA has anyone noticed that as of yet including DeWalt’s web site only has the 20V MAX* Lithium Ion Compact Drill/Driver / Impact Driver Combo Kit (1.5 Ah) listed, same kit with the 3.0Ah isn’t advertised. The 18V Lithium Ion Compact Drill/Driver / Impact Driver Combo kit was available in either battery sizes. I also see that both the 1.5Ah and 3.0Ah 20V MAX batteries and charger are selling for less than the 18V LION? What’s up with this?

It encourages people to move on to the new line of tools…. Business psychology. Dont do away with the outdated tools, encourage them to buy the newer ones. 😉

Dont worry the price on the batteries will come up after they sell a years worth of kits.
