A few days ago I found screwdriver bits from an American brand called Mayhew Tools. Interestingly they have lots of American made screwdriver bits, quite a good range. is this brand a well known brand in the US? How old is this brand? And are their bits easily available everywhere in the US? Here is a PDF catalogue of their bits.

I forgot all about Mayhew. I think that Home Depot used to carry their stuff in store but I haven’t seen them in any store recently, though they are available on the HD site, including a couple of socket bit sets. According to their info page, Mayhew was founded in 1856 and is the oldest punch and chisel manufacturer here in the States.

Yea, quite old company and I don’t know why is not known in UK. I have not seen any other company making 11/64″ and 9/32″ of hexagonal tip in 2″ length not even in 1″ length, and they are USA made.
