Awesome man! Americans working to build tools. How could you ask for more?

Conductor562Member since Nov 2011

Well, the plant could be in West Virginia. Hint hint 😆

Very cool.

mustang347Member since Mar 2011

OK, that’s like tool porn or something……..

firefighter4187Member since Mar 2013

Yeah that is really cool!! Milwaukee is expanding, Dr put the article up awhile ago, they are hiring some 400 employees for american manufacturing.

KatoMember since Jan 2014

Those two shots of the boxes full of tools…tool porn, plain and simple.

BrienMember since Dec 2013

I love it.

Open to the public? Free Tours? Free Tools at then end of the free tours?

Brewing Companies do it. I’m just saying.

ChrisKMember since Dec 2012

We’ll… it’d be hotter if they were red 😀

Just kidding, that’s really sweet and in didn’t know Milwaukee was expanding their US work force. Good for them. And good for Dewalt!

DR99Member since Nov 2012

This is what Dewalt is really building behind all of the big posters around the factory. I was wondering how many people is Dewalt is employing at that facility if its confidential I understand just curious. I wonder if Milwaukee will move some of their cordless production back to the USA Dewalt fired a pretty large salvo at the power too market with the made in the USA tools. I wonder how Dewalt managed to get the numbers to work for them, from what I have read power tools have pretty thin profit margins.

That’s true too DR. You’d figure Dewalt and Milwaukee (over here anyways) hold the lion share of power tool sales so one would think they could make it work. I was talking to a couple of guys at work today on storm patrol and a local Made in the USA company in Barrington is opening a big factory right down the road from their main office and expanding its business. I don’t work there obviously but that made me pretty happy. Made in the USA by Americans! Plus more jobs, all in all that’s pretty sweet. Going back to the OP It will be really cool to see these tool companies with USA on the frames!

KraneMember since Jan 2014

Good marketing by Dewalt. Makita has been producing tools here in the U.S. for 20 years. Milwaukee used to do quite a bit here, but TTi stopped that I would guess.

NicholasShetleyMember since Nov 2013

Milwaukee still makes some electric tools and blades here. Over on toolguyd Stuart said that Stanley b&d dominates the power and hand tool market the world over.

I like where your heads at. No public tours though unfortunately. I’d have to take you in and I don’t make it there often.

Gatorb888Member since Nov 2013

Here is the list of items made in the US. All Dewalt Recip Blades, numerous hand tools and storage products, most 7-1/4″ – 12″ blades.

Also, if you’re wondering what is behind the large banners, it is our East Coast distribution center. It’s a huge building.

I accept your invitation!

It looks like Dewalt is still making new production 18v tools then? Because it seems like the stores have been trying to clear out shelf space for the 20v stuff which makes sense, but Dewalt has so many 18v users though.

Conductor562Member since Nov 2011

Slap my address on one of those big boxes and send it along. I’m sure they won’t mind 😆

DR99Member since Nov 2012

Conductor has a small army of a family to outfit with power tools 🙂

Most of my Dewalt cordless line is 18V and I’m not about to switch out all of those tools because they work great and have been very reliable. I’ll keep replacing the batteries as needed.

We have never stopped making 18v tools. In fact, in March we are launching the new 18v grease gun. You may see a lot of retail stores stop carrying 18v and start supporting 20v more but it doesn’t mean we stopped making the tool.

Is that heaven??? Seriously(•_•)

I’ve had the same problem finding 18v tools. I have too large of a collection to start over with 20v. I’ll have to try the internet or a straight tool store like Berlands.
