I think I might need to pick up a miter saw… deWalt or Bosch, probably. I’d like to pick up a few M18 Fuel tools… 3/8 and 1/2 impact wrench, maybe the 1/2″ High Torque impact, maybe an impact driver, maybe a hammer drill.

I’m moving to try and complete my 6pt socket sets, at least in 1/4″ drive for this year, so I’m kind of looking at Williams or SK shallow and Williams deep. I’d also like to pick up some semi-deep, probably go with SK for those.

And that dang Conductor guy really has me wanting to pick up some Proto ratcheting combo wrenches…

Thank you sir!

Welcome to TIA BK. We have a special section for introducing yourself 😉

Welcome, as far as new tools, I’m thinking about getting a Jet band saw. They have a pretty sweet one over at Woodcraft I’ve been looking at. Looks like I have to start hitting the details again for the extra cash!

PT CustomMember since Jan 2014

What is ” hitting the details”? Chris

“hitting the details” = picking up extra shifts

The officers around here seem to love directing traffic more than anything haha!!! Its amazing how many dumbass’s are behind the wheel.

We’ve had 2 cops hit by cars in the last year, in the same county. 1 was a guy my brother graduated the academy with and is now permanently disabled.

People seem to get even crazier when they see flashing lights.

Well, we had three Troopers hit the week before last. Getting more dangerous. People aren’t paying attention, texting and failing to move the frig over. And Conductor is right on, it’s just overtime. I hate working it, it resulted in me getting injured this summer, but it pays for those extra toys we all want. Not to mention diamonds and such 🙂

My brothers buddy was ran over by a 75 year old woman on who was late for church. Swear to God.

That sucks. Have you called Mac? They have a website with full line listing now.

frankiegarcia19Member since Jan 2014

Havnt..i have a couple mac tools luckly none have issues… I rather just buy from the trucka that come by, so they can quickly replace the sockets i keep breaking.lol

Conductor562Member since Nov 2011

How do you keep breaking sockets and what kind?

vmc43Member since Jan 2014

I,am looking at Dewalts new table saw DWE7491rs for job site.Lots of 3/4 finish ply and hard maple.

Conductor562Member since Nov 2011

If I cut a lot of 3/4″ ply I think I’d prefer a track saw. That 3/4″ is like wrestling a bear a lot of times.

So does that mean you would get a festool  Conductor?  🙂

NicholasShetleyMember since Nov 2013

Well, proto doesn’t make a track saw.

frankiegarcia19Member since Jan 2014

@conductor… I keep breakin my 13mm deep snap on chromy… I put it on my m18 fuel 1/4 hex driver talking off splashshields on trucks here at work.. I also brak my 10mm 🙁 snappy replaces fast… I just recently bought an impact set from snap on to take the m18 beating…

KatoMember since Jan 2014

Thickness planer and some hand tools ordered, trip to HD later to pick up the AirStrike and some random stuff. [External image (i15.photobucket.com), not copied]

I guess I’ll have to settle for putting a Proto sticker on it then 😆

That will solve the breaking issue.

What hand tools?

Thanks Conductor. Never heard that before

Gearwrench Pass-through socket set and Gearwrench bit set. I’ll use the hell out of them but it was kind of a whim buy more than a need. I have plenty of sockets and wrenches and bits and such, but the pass-through stuff has been on my mind for a while and the bit set looked pretty cool so I said what the heck. It’ll look good next to my other Gearwrench stuff…

Yes, I’m a little kid inside, and tools are my toys.

DR99Member since Nov 2012

Well wasn’t planning on it but I ended up buying the 3/8 Milwaukee ratchet kit and Jig saw. All I really need is the M12 Fuel impact wrenches. I would love the big beast the M18 high torque wrench but I would hardly ever use it.

NicholasShetleyMember since Nov 2013

I will hopefully order my m18 fuel items Monday. Dr the m12 fuel impact wrenches are %20 percent off until 1/31

If I were in the market for a pass thru set that’s the one I’d buy. I’ve looked at it several times, but never pulled the trigger.

KatoMember since Jan 2014

I’m a blubbering idiot when it comes to Gearwrench, don’t as me why. I have a butt-load of Ryobi tools, which makes me look like a rabid Ryobi fan, but Gearwrench…all you have to do is say “Gearwrench” and I drool all over myself. I just like their stuff, I stare at their catalog almost daily.

NicholasShetleyMember since Nov 2013

Do you have the new 120 tooth ratchets?

KatoMember since Jan 2014

I’ve got three sets of the original “5°” wrenches, two standard and one metric. Those are good enough, I haven’t run into anything yet that I’d need tighter degrees in the ratchet to justify the 120XP’s. I’ll bet they’re pretty frickin’ nice though. The difference between 5° and 3° probably wouldn’t make much difference in what I do, but I’d assume they serve a purpose or Gearwrench wouldn’t make them.

NicholasShetleyMember since Nov 2013

I have a 100 tooth Carlyle ratchet (it’s Napa’s new tool brand, they are made by Williams.). The 100 tooth is much better than my regular 36 tooth. In my field of work, tight spaces are common and more teeth are always better.

KatoMember since Jan 2014

When I first started using Gearwrench I noticed right away the difference between those and typical speed wrenches. The swing on the Gearwrenches was way better in tight spots, some spots where a typical speed wrench couldn’t even move. And they were thinner too, so I could fit them into close quarters easier than even regular box or combo wrenches. And I’m not a standard wrench kind of guy, they’re caveman tools if they don’t ratchet. Regular open-end, combo, and box-end wrenches…you can have them. Can’t stand “turn the wrench, move the wrench, turn the wrench, move the wrench…figure out which way to flip the wrench so it fits…turn the wrench, flip the wrench, move the wrench, turn the wrench…”

Geez, just thinking about it makes me go googly-eyed.

It’s also inevitable that you need to use it during the coldest day of the year because some stupid thing broke, and you bash your freezing hand into something because of a stupid wrench slipping or something. Man I wish i knew why hitting a cold hand causes so much more pain than if you were at a normal temp it effing hurts like a mofo!!!

I gotta get a hammer drill, probably a dcd950.  Might pick up some 3/8s drive allen and torx bits too.

For bit sockets, if you’re looking for a good quality, low budget, solution, check out Sunex.

Ill definitely be looking into sunex.  Got a set of sunex 3/8’s semi deep impact sockets awhile back, and I gotta say they’re some of the nicest sockets Ive ever owned.  Especially for the money.
