If you are on Facebook, you would have seen that Milwaukee will be releasing another tool on there, they gave a hint that is a M18, and it will power your life on and off the site, i thinks its a new radio! What do you guys think?

NicholasShetleyMember since Nov 2013

I think so too. Could it be the fuel radio lol. I would be surprised if it didn’t have a built in charger.

DR99Member since Nov 2012

I think some one here mentioned that M18 radios were one sale in Canada makes sense to clear out inventory. Plus the Milwaukee radio is the oldest on the market now.

Well one guy said he looked through recent patent’s and never seen anything from milwaukee about it so, I wouldn’t get your hopes up

firefighter4187Member since Mar 2013

I wonder if they some how got around it with stating a different way of charging the batteries, it would not surprise me at all if milwaukee put solar panels on top of it, but made them bulletproof and water and dust proof so they would be tough.

Harold WrayMember since Jun 2013

It the power thing Iron Man has on his chest. We will all be superheroes. 🙂

NicholasShetleyMember since Nov 2013

Well the bosch charges batteries.

DR99Member since Nov 2012

Would be nice if Milwaukee stepped up to the level Bosh has set with the power box. I wish would do wifi or bluetooth streaming that would be would be the shit like the Jawbone Jambox and the other consumer clones that allow you to do it. Its time for the tool companies to step up I doubt it will happen though. I would be great  you could have your phone on you at all times and not inside your radio not many people rock just an mp3 player anymore.

Joe MMember since Apr 2013

COME ON CHASE, what did they announce? 😛

Joe MMember since Apr 2013

Personal opinion, but that radio is fugly and this is coming from a person who thinks the original 12v impact is one the best looking tools ever.

Conductor562Member since Nov 2011

I think it looks more suited for a stationary shop environment, but I like it.

I havve to agree it looks pretty big, but I like a lot of the features they added just a bummer they didn’t include M12 batteries being used and charged too. I don’t know if I want to keep the M12 radio or upgrade too this or keep both of them.

NicholasShetleyMember since Nov 2013

It definitely threw me a curveball when I saw it. I don’t care what my tools look like though so long as they work properly.

JavierMember since Aug 2013

Look it’s Chase’s “fuel” radio. Tia wrote an article on this too. This thing is awesome, their bringing back the charger and throwing in a Bluetooth connection. 2 things I’ve been wanting. Not as cool looking as the current m18 radio. The new radio would be perfect if it also charged the m12 batteries. I just hope it’s not to big, I think the m12 radio is the perfect size for me.

firefighter4187Member since Mar 2013

It reminds me of the compact dewalt 20v radio look. Disruptive innovation really does define Milwaukee tools! Hopefully it has some outlets  on it!

NicholasShetleyMember since Nov 2013

It does look fairly compact. I think it will be around the same size as the bosch radio

No outlets on the radio

JavierMember since Aug 2013

I’m glad I switched to Milwaukee 18v. I hated always wishing my brand had all the new stuff like this.

07SierraMember since Jul 2013

If Milwaukee is “Disruptive Innovation” then I’d love to see what people would call Bosch for the Powerbox… This is the best jobsite radio anywhere

LORDDiESELMember since Nov 2013

I hope it pounds and has the nice big bass tone. I do really want it.

Harold WrayMember since Jun 2013

I think its a perfect size. Looks like a tiny guitar amp. Bluetooth is awesom. Clean looking. I want it! Wonder how much it will be?

JavierMember since Aug 2013

The Bosch power box is the best radio in the large radio segment. It’s feature rich with I believe 4 speakers and a subwoofer and battery charger. Now that I look at the pictures of this one it looks more similar in size to the new compact dewalt radio. This radio is innovative because it’s the only compact radio that can charge batteries and has Bluetooth something that other tool brands haven’t incorporated into their radios.

You can’t really compare the power box to this m18 as it wouldn’t be apples to apples.

Couldn’t agree with you more 07. My Powerbox kicks some serious A$&!! I had the M18 radio till last December and got rid of it. The reception sucked, sound was tinny, no power outlets etc…and I’m a Milwaukee guy!
Eric – TIAMember since Jan 2010

Radio looks cool, but it will be really hard to be the powerbox.

Educated guess between $149.00 to $179.00. Their regular radio sells for $119, so i say it is safe to add 50 bucks at least to the overall price tag for the inclusion of the charger.

astroboyMember since Oct 2013

Is there a headphone out on this? I would mind running my shop sound system off of it

Everyone brags and throws out the word Innovative… All they did with this is add bluetooth. Sure it’s new in a jobsite radio but it’s not like Milwaukee is the first company adding bluetooth to a radio. I think the word is overused a tad bit too much…

The Powerbox is innovative because it has just about everything in it besides bluetooth, and if bosch were to add it… Well it be the best thing since sliced bread probably

and the pre-order on now the radio is $229!!!!!! That’s just a bit overpriced considering the powerbox is quite a bit cheaper…

firefighter4187Member since Mar 2013

229 is pricey imo, and no outlets….. I would have liked to seen at least 2

JavierMember since Aug 2013

There’s nothing wrong with bragging about your favorite tool and if Milwaukee keeps innovating, well there’s not much anything we can do. They’re just an unstoppable force with new ideas. Some of them are just obvious like incorporating Bluetooth into a job site radio. Or the first to add a battery charger in a compact radio. But instead of waiting until some other brand comes out with one, they paved the way. I used to be a “dewalt” guy too, and I still have deep respect for them but when it came to cordless tools, I just got fed up with some other red brand always coming up with new tools with new features.

$229, dang dude that’s expensive, I will have to pass at price. I think $150 is reasonable.

DR99Member since Nov 2012

Who has the pre order at $229 that might be msrp but I doubt that’s what everyone is going to sell it for. Home Depot wouldn’t be cool with an over 200 dollar price point on a jobsite radio not when you can snag it for $119 most of the time or cheaper. I would wait and see.

MozeMember since Jun 2012

I never really looked at the Bosch Power Box. Man, that’s a nice little radio.

I do like the Bluetooth of the new Milwaukee.

I don’t think Milwaukee is the first to add a charger in a compact radio… To me bluetooth is not that big of deal because depending on what your doing and the line of sight it might that have that great of range… 100ft is stretching it and that would need to be straight line of sight if it even worked that far…Plus streaming bluetooth would end up killing your phone pretty quick. I’d use a basic ipod or another mp3 player plug it in, close the lid and go… I think most people just use the radio anyway, all most I’ve seen ever do because it’s just to keep something in the backround to help pass the day

Coptool says right in their article it’s set at 229 and there is a pre-order now

DR99Member since Nov 2012

They also say the regular price is 389 dollars I will wait till it’s listed by a few other retailers before I eat crow.

name a compact job site radio that charges, also if you don’t like Bluetooth that’s cool bro, don’t buy it.

I use Bluetooth for audio for music all the time so for me it would work great. I hate cables. I was even looking for a Bluetooth receiver dongle to put in my m12 radio before this radio came along so guess how excited I was when I read about this radio. Too bad the price is insane. I hope it’s a typo.

Regular Price: $389.00 On Sale For: $229.04

LOL, Its not out yet and they already claiming they are selling it almost 150 dollars off. Bet my left kidney this hits HD at about $199

astroboyMember since Oct 2013

from an earlier thread on this topic, folks said that dewalt has the patent on the technology for charging batteries and radio reception. Which says to me that most likely Milwaukee is paying them for the patent, hence the steeper price. The Bosch radio was always a lot more than the other ones. And I assumed that it had to do with the patent

Conductor562Member since Nov 2011

Patent is only good for 7 years. Time may well be up.

JavierMember since Aug 2013

this isn’t Milwaukee’s first radio with a charger, there was a v18 radio with Rockford fosgate  that had a battery charger, wonder what the deal was with the dewalts patent back then, probably the same as bosch
