Stanley Hand Planes (Restore or not for resale)?

Very new to this. I won a bid on a lot of hand planes at an auction and I want to keep some for my own use, so I will be restoring those.

The duplicates in the lot are the ones I want to sell.   Assuming I have all the time in the world (which I don’t),   Should I restore them or just sell them as is on ebay/facebook marketplace, etc?

Based on what I see on ebay, people would rather buy them as is and not restored,  is this true?

thanks.

Depends! Generally pros go for old stock/used planes and they would like to restore them how they want, as mostly they would be US-UK made, new ones are mostly made in China. I would sell them as they are.

Welcome to the forum.

When I sold my NOS Stanley Number 4 plane, it had some defects, but I sold it w/o any improvements.
