Lol. Funny. They should pay you. I read all those reviews. Those things are just silly. Don’t really get it Kobalt us a good brand. Well at least they are trying to make something.

Conductor562Member since Nov 2011

They discontinued the ratchet with the LED in the plug. Can’t imagine why that didn’t work out 😆

Sears is the master of useless shit around the holidays. I can’t even remember most of the gimmicky shit they’ve had.

firefighter4187Member since Mar 2013

Lol lighted ratchet what a joke, I was happy at lowes the other day, they had irwin quick grips buy 2 get 2 free.

Conductor562Member since Nov 2011

I’m guessing you have 4 quick grips now?

firefighter4187Member since Mar 2013

Yes and then for labor day, Ace had the 12in quick grips $5 bucks a pop I guess it was a grippy kind of weekend…

Harold WrayMember since Jun 2013

Lol. Sears was the master at that stuff.

Chase, Didn’t you already have some Irwin quick grips? Thought you had it in one of your videos.

I believe i had one quick grip, clamps imo are one thing you can never have enough of. The quick grip is on of the best imo, but they come at a price.

Last year Skil cam out with the IXO, the wine opener.  That was a gimmick.  We got a lot of crap for that one and maybe that is why Skil won’t talk to us anymore.

Harold WrayMember since Jun 2013

It’s hard for you guys to give an honest review without pissing off someone. I’m sure it’s difficult with products from Black & Decker.

Lol i remember that review haha, i heard tool guyd is not on dewalts good side lol

Eric – TIAMember since Jan 2010

No I don’t think he is.

Harold WrayMember since Jun 2013

I don’t think I’m on Dewalt’s or Milwaukee’s good side. They have yet to send me any tools. Don’t know what I did wrong.

Lol tell me about it, i talked so good about dewalt in my reviews….

I constantly bash Makita. The Japanese mafia probably has enforcers in the bushes across the road waiting for their chance.

I don’t know what the little bastards are planning, but I’m betting they stage it to like like it was Milwaukee’s fault.

If I suddenly vanish, you guys be sure to tell the cops Makita did it 😆

The Yakzuka makes the Italian mafia look like kindergarten classroom. You have to cut a finger off if you fail your boss and some guys have lost a few fingers. Conductor might end up having a few “power tool accidents”.

Really, I know we should see some off the Holiday tools hitting TIA Youtube channel soon, but why a wine opener as the attachment couldn’t the have done a more practical attachment? Was the idea for guys to buy this for their wives? I think most wives wouldn’t been cool with a power tool under the tree I’m sure some would but the majority wouldn’t. Skill is a weird brand they get the crazy green diy tools Bosch sells in Europe, or it’s thinks like the old school Mag77 skillsaw. The rest of the line is nothing spectacular at all I don’t know if their other stuff is even Ryobi quality I never see any reviews of the other corded and cordless tools they sell. I will say the Skill IXO I got for free as a rebate on windshield wipers was worth it other than that I never consider them for tools really.

Conductor562Member since Nov 2011

Maybe it was marketed toward that demographic of men that regularly drink wine. These are usually the same guys who keep all their tools in the kitchen junk drawer.

Eric – TIAMember since Jan 2010

LOL, I agree

Ok, I just got this and I’m putting it in my kitchen junk drawer.  And I’m dammm proud of it!!    🙂

Conductor562Member since Nov 2011

Everyone has a junk drawer in the kitchen with a few tools, but if that drawer contains every hand tool you own, turn in your man card 😆

You get that at HD free with a Screwdriver?

DR99Member since Nov 2012

Jeez, with the amount of Milwaukee tools I have you would think they would send me a cool bottle opener.

Harold WrayMember since Jun 2013

Yes I got it free with the 11 in 1 screwdriver at Home Depot. They don’t sell it by itself. It was $10. Funny DR. I agree.

DR99Member since Nov 2012

If I don’t get a free bottle opener soon I’m selling it all and going with another company!! J/K The stuff really is awesome!!!

DR99Member since Nov 2012

Hey Makita for a bunch of free tools I will be be super loyal I just want the new 4.0 ah packs not the crap 3.0’s. I know the companies must troll around her occasionally. Makita could use some good pr around this forum. We have a bunch of milwaukee and dewalt fan’s here I think bosch is 3rd then makia no one really talks about having their tools.

Harold WrayMember since Jun 2013

Dr, Does that mean you would change your avatar from a Milwaukee fuel logo to a Makita logo? Noooooo.

DR99Member since Nov 2012

An avatar change along with a name change is a real possibility. Makita currently has Miss and Señorita Makita say hello to the future señor  Makita do they still expect me to wear the Bikini’s though is the real pressing question of the moment.

I bought the hypercoil light and I like it. I let my grandpa use it so he could see bad spots on the primer on his truck before we paint it. It works fine for that. It is nice and bright but the light has a slight blue tint but other than that it is perfect.

Conductor562Member since Nov 2011

If Makita makes a f$&king cordless pop rivet gun I’ll never bad mouth them again, scouts honor.

Milwaukee is obviously disinterested in my yearning 🙁

Yea, blue tint is awful. I’ve held onto halogen lights forever, but options are starting to get a little slim.

NicholasShetleyMember since Nov 2013

The tint doesn’t bother me that bad.

Lol give them 10 years and they may have a power source thing released.

And then it will catch on fire and lack the ability to fully charge a cell phone.

NicholasShetleyMember since Nov 2013

Or burn the phone up.

Talk about Gimmicky!! Holy $hit Kobalt!!! You never seem so amaze me…..what are they going to release next, a 5 in one power tool, a drill with a flip out recip saw, circ saw, jigsaw and a radio built in lol

Harold WrayMember since Jun 2013

Funny. That does look gimmicky. Looks like it would break quickly also.

Lol its amazing what china does to a company…….

NicholasShetleyMember since Nov 2013

LED lights on a tape measure. That hasn’t been done yet lol

firefighter4187Member since Mar 2013

Lol but Kobalt took care of the tape measure on utility shears with those triple cut things..

Harold WrayMember since Jun 2013

That is so weird. A tape measure on utility shears. Strange.

RedSionnachMember since Aug 2013

Not any weirder than the B&D autotape. How lazy do you have to be not to pull a tape measure. If you can’t work up that kind of energy how can you mark your line or handle a saw.

I agree this ratchet is on the extreme end of usability, but I will say this. I have a short handled, flex head, Titan ratchet that is 3/8″ and 1/4″. It’s not a ratchet I reach for all the time, but it makes a great bit ratchet because some of my bit socket sets are mixed drive sizes. Also makes a nice stubby ratchet.

That being said, this ratchet possesses neither of these qualities. The 1/2″/1/4″ plug raises a lot of clearance concerns and I wonder if it would be of any use at all with shallow sockets as the 1/4″ plug would have to stick down into the broach of the socket.

Lol and they have that auto wrench to haha

All this talk of gimmick tools makes me realize how close to the holidays we actually are sigh :/

Each holiday season brings a succession of useless “tools” from well meaning family members who know as much about tools as I do astro physics. Buying a guy like me who has over 300 sockets, 30+ ratchets, 7 sets of combo wrenches, and one of the only near complete sets of Plomb War Finish combos with no skips known to exist, a f$&king dog bone wrench is like buying your Dentist a tooth brush.

I don’t mean to sound unappreciative, and it’s the thought that counts, but if you have no idea what to get me, why not ask?

I know exactly what you mean, I love my grandfather, and knows i know my tools, but buys me walmart brand socket set or along those lines haha. I would much more appreciate instead of buying all these little things, buy me one thing that equals the cost of all those little things, like a williams 1/2 in drive set haha
