Stop The Presses!!!! Important news flash!!! Did you guys hear on today’s show Dan talked about a Milwaukee’s tool box. He said in 6 months or something. Mmmmm. Does he know something we don’t. I personally would love a Milwaukee toolbox. Do you guys think they will make one. Let the conspiracy theories begin.
I would expect to see a storage solution from them. People don’t seem to like the tool bags or hard sided tool cases. The problem is access to the tool and the amount of space taken up. Also the had sided cases never had room for bits and stuff.
I like the hard boxes but like you said you can’t fit anything else in there.
You have got to love spammers with their paragraphs full of gibberish just to cheat the anti spam controls. I’m curious to see if Milwaukee goes the toughbox route, or more the more interchangeable customizable tstak, systainer, lboxx route.
I think Milwaukee is going to take the tool box, and put innovation in it like they do all there other tools, i believe when its all said and done, Milwaukee’s tool storage will be on top.
Just worked on organizing my garage today it’s such a mess at the moment. My biggest mistake was buying a craftsmen tool chest that’s way too small for all the things I have.
I heard you. My box is too small. I just built a shed and now that is too small.
You need to swap houses with Dan he has a nice chunk of property. You could build another garage/workshop on it. My dream one day is a nice ranch done up really nice I don’t need a shit load of square footage eating up energy costs. What I do want is a massive pole barn that could be divided into a workshop/mancave/storage area.
Man that sounds like my dream. I would love to have something like that.
Heck if the pole barn was big enough I would make it really tall and have a bad ass second story area too live in. The only problem most women wouldn’t take well to living in a pole barn like that.
It would be interesting to see Milwaukee’s take on tool boxes. Probably take Dan’s idea and incorporate a charger. I think they should start with tool bags. I like their kit tool bags but they are very basic. I also like their power tool hard cases but they lack accessory storage.

Agree 100% Milwaukee makes the best basic blow-molded case, but has no storage…
I liked there metal tool box i got one at a garage sale for 5 $
I guess I’m old fashioned, but I liked the metal kit boxes too. It really hasn’t been all that long ago that they phased them out.

I really like the old sk metal socket holders!
Is there any word on this. I would really be interested in something waterproof but not as heavy as a DewaltTough Box. Something to be used as a work station/tool box.
1.Battery Charger outlets or powerstrip, place for rolled up extension cord
2.Hooks or shelves for chargers, m12 radio, m12 stick light or m18 flood light etc
3. Attachment points for clamps and hanging your drill/impact
4. An “appliance style” hand truck that has big enough wheels to go up stairs and across lawns/rocks
There is European woodworker using Festool that has a folding table attached to a 2 wheel custom dolly with systainers boxes, maybe talk to this guy.
it would be awsome for them to come out with a mechanics tool box and tool box for the construction trades. also why hasnt anyone come out with a truck accessory like something that can be mounted into a pickup or van or something i know there are boxes and caps etc i just think a tool company would make something with better ergonomics and accessibility and any advertisement in good advertisement soo having a milwaukee name on a tool chest mounted in my truck lots of people would see that but we can all wait and see whats happening next
I need a better storage unit for all my cordless tool….if Milwaukee made a tool box with deep draws so you can store all your power tools in them and a draw with a power, or power on a top shelf, that would be nifty. My current boxes are getting full….I need more box! a nice Tool shed for all my tools would be nice!
I’m not sure how to repost from the main page news article, but the new tool box is pretty close to what I was looking for. Here’s my post from the main page…
I love the corner tool pockets and the connections for the battery charger. I bought one of those 28″ dewalt/bostitch waterproof boxes (very similar in design). I even cut slots in the lid ribbing to tie up my hand saw and 2 foot level in the lid with hook/loop tape. They sure do get heavy when filled. I was kinda hoping for a 22-24 inch toolbox that will fit through doorways/hallways more easily. Something easily tied to a hand truck.I am still looking for a box for my tool only Fuel Circ and it’s awkward dimensions.
What are the dimensions of the inside of the box?
Are they coming out with more options?
I understand there are no stackable latches, but how about little feet/notches so they can stack without falling over?
I found something interesting while searching for a video review of the new Work Box, the M Box 100 PD Hammer Drill kit. The review is from a few months back and from an European website. The kit includes a tool box, 18v hammer drill, two 4 ah batt, one 2 ah batt, dual charger and a 100pc drill set. The tool box has foam inserts, ball bearing lower drawer and metal/plastic construction. Does not seem to have any stackable latches/connections. Is this an old design I missed?
It might have been a one off kit that they made for other markets, but nothing like this even made it to North America from all the tool news sites I visit, or tool review sites. The box is built to look similar to their jobsite radios in appearance.
WTF man? How come we don’t have that set up here? 🙁
exactly!Conductor562 wrote:

I’m still waiting to see what they have to offer for stacking boxes
I can’t wait for that new tool box they announced, really did the battery charger setup.
The tool box is starting to show up here in Baltimore in the Home depot
I bought it last week and it’s sweet, I fit my fuel sawzall, m18 fuel hammer drill, m18 fuel impact, m12 fuel impact, m12 fuel hammer drill, m12 oscillating tool, m12 right angle drill charger and m12 flashlight in this box and it was easy to setup and grab what I needed and back in they went
I couldn’t fur my circular saw in but I expected that with all that in there
The Milwaukee Job Box is a nice box but this is why I like my Tough Boxes.

The more I see the set up the more I am leaning that way. Plus I was thinking of getting one for my cruiser to store my weapons cleaning kit and extra mags and rounds. The box is really perfect for that task. Pricey though! I know, funny coming from me but the drawer unit is 70-80 bucks! I don’t buy Systainers because of the cost but I have six of them and five l boxxes. Something like the tough system is right on though for modular purposes. Still would prefer red white and black though 🙁
Tough boxes in the Milwaukee forum!!!!! I can’t take it hahahahaha
Wow where the heck can u find these!!??
the Milwaukee box is being stocked by HD. I have not seen Dewalt Tough System boxes at HD or Lowes but Amazon sells them.Bigmikez wrote:

They may be DeWalt boxes but all the 18V tools are Milwaukee.

Keep checking around. I got my drawer unit for $45 from tool nut It was some kind of one day sale.
Will do Regopit, thanks! I really want that unit plus the small one.
The small box can hold a lot and it has a tray that clips in the top

The drawer unit holds a good amount of stuff also

Thanks Regopit! Done deal, I’m getting them !!
Bad ass I want them but I’m holding off for milwaukees
You know Punda, I would like to too but I’m afraid they won’t intro anything good unles they intro the sliding one I saw.
That M100 PD box looks freaking awesome. I want one of those.
Really, I just think they are gonna make a real game changer as far as stackable boxes go. And for a good price
if only they’d make a much larger version of that box….that’s a bit on the useless side because who only uses a drill….no one lol
yea I think Milwaukee is gonna come out with a couple of little boxes and the bigboys will be out soon……hopefully
So to recap this years tool box and storage from the NPS. The aforementioned 26″ Work Box, a 13″ wide/16″tall square bucket, a tool backpack, a mechanics rolling tool chest and a small parts organizer with clear lid.
The mechanics rolling tool chest was a big surprise considering they don’t sell mechanics tools. Maybe next year.
It doesn’t look like the the small parts organizer can clip to others of the same design. I can’t see them making this design by accident. I guess they have no real plans for a modular tool box system.
For me, it seemed Milwaukee would be the brand that could warrant the effort of a modular tool box system from TTI.
I saw a previous comment saying you can’t get the sawzall and circ saw into the jobsite box together. I don’t know about the fuel but non fuel fits with no issue except you can’t get the tray in and that works fine for me as I put the extra tray into another jobsite box I use for carpentry tools.
I’ve got M18 6.5 circ, sawzall, hammer drill, impact, M12 multi tool, compact driver, flashlight plus 12/18 charger, 3 M18 & 3 M12 batteries & bits and blades for all of it. Not much room to spare after all that though
Yes, the Fuel versions of the M18 6.5 circ and the sawzall do fit without the top tray. They fit better with the circ on some kind of pedestal to square up the saw. This box can pack so many tools you won’t want to lift it.
Ebowejr has the right idea. i would like a tool chest- 36″ long by 24″tall by 24″ wide rolling version with an extending handle. They could make little pockets for their most common tools like the drill setups. Imagine a corner pocket that could hold your Sawzall vertical, a few vertical slots for catching the sds hammers/hole hawgs. Or attachment points for the rafter hooks or the belt clips. Or take the idea of the surge protector outlets from the metal rolling toolbox and incorporate that into that for the battery chargers. Or some access holes for a cable to lock it to your truck/jobsite.
I would love a 20-22 inch version with the modular latches for stacking ability. Center it around the M12 line like how the 26″ is around the M18. Or just make it just long enough to run a Sawzall from the inside of one drill pocket to the inside of the other drill pocket. The weight differences between a full 20″ toolbox and a 26″ is pretty large. Appropriate height sizes with their own features would be nice also.
Of course make both of the aforementioned boxes compatible. The 36″ tool chest should hold many of the 20″ boxes. I personally am still holding out hope for a modular set….Ridgid has the the modular toolboxes….and Ryobi has the battery nailers…..TTI you sneaking devil, I see what you did there.
