My dads 2007 Dodge ram 1500 Megacab with a hemi, 85,000 miles runs great! Soon to be mine in less than a year!
Sierra, Nice ride! Clean, like you said.
Chase, Nice ride also! My brother has a Dodge ram. Powerhouse.
I own a gray Honda Pilot. Clean. But not really a guys tough truck.

I bet you smoke us in gas mileage.
Best I got with my truck was about 23 mpg here in american mpg looking at about 19
Lol I can get 14 mpg on a good day…

Can’t buy a Dodge and get good fuel economy, never seen one do it yet haha
Nice truck Conductor!, that was the first year for the new style!
Nice truck guys. I miss my GMC. 100K and never had a problem. I’ll have to toss a picture of my truck up here. Went with a Ford, but wish I went back with GMC.
Speaking of Ford… My uncle just lemon lawed his F-250, the computer was bad and no one could figure it out, the dealership gave him a full refund so he went down and bought a gmc sierra.
My next truck will be a Ford though after I’m done with this one… Like them A LOT better then mine… More power, better ride, nicer interior and list goes on
I have to say I like a Ford F150 over a Gm pickup. I have had both an 06 F150 and a 08 Silverado. I liked the engine and ride of the Chevy over the Ford, but everything I think the F150 did better. Plus I’m not really sold on the 2014 redesigned trucks they look kind of funky.
I’d love to have another 3/4 Ton diesel. Fuel prices got too crazy to keep it as it was more a luxury than a real need. I had an F-250 with the 7.3 Powerstroke. It was a nice truck but fuel prices went nuts and I needed a crew cab.

What’s wrong with your Ford Eric?

He found it on the road dead…..

I am a Cummins diesel guy! Powerchokes are my least favorite….
For a good chunk of time Ford had way too many issues with the Powerstroke engines, but they brought the design and manufacturing in house from International truck and with the latest engine I haven’t heard too many issues. You can’t go wrong with any of these trucks to be honest. I will say Dodge now Ram really turned it around with the latest Ram pickup. I think I would take the new v6 truck I don’t really town all that much and it gets like 25 mpg if I remember right. People wonder why they don’t make compact pickups anymore that’s why with incentives and such your not far off on the price and you get so much more truck for your money.

Yeah The new engines from international suck, Duramax, i call em Durashit for short hahaha! The V6 are impressive, you still get just as much power as the v8.
The Cummins have always been 6 cylinders. I don’t know how the new Powerstokes are. The 6.0’s were junk though.

I mean a V6 in a gasoline engine, The ford ecoboost is v6 and a v6 is an option on the Ram 1500
Top Gear USA tested the biggest truck each company made and the poor Ram was so much slower than the ford or chevy.not that speed is the most important thing on a big dually truck. Unless your towing some serious weight I don’t see why even contractors buy them the width is such a pain in the ass. Look what happened to this poor trucks fender flares. http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=6cb_1375466788
Yeah, I have seen some cummins engines in rams that guys have built and take it to a drag strip and it smokes a mustang.
I have to say the Ford is nice. Interior is sweet, except the rattle. I only have 13K on the truck so not sure how bad it will rattle when it hits 100K. Who am I kidding it won’t hit 100K, lol. Outside looks awesome and no problems. Ecoboost is fast My GMC road much nicer, but I do have 20″ rimms and the longer frame. When the truck first starts up and I go to drive it, it stutters. All most like it’s not getting gas or something. When I am on the tollway going about 65 and I give it a little gas, it stutters again, like the timing is off or something. Also when I am at a red light and the wipers are on, you can feel it a lot on the brake pedal which is annoying. Ford said all these things are common in the 2012 and its normal. They may be little things and I am bitching more, but trucks aren’t cheap. I would think for the price, they wouldn’t have these issues. My 2007 Chevy Cobalt runs better than the Ford and that was the 1/5 of the cost of the truck.

Lol I bet the Cobalt smokes it in gas mileage to!

You need to take it to another dealership first the quality in after service support varies so much from dealer to dealer it’s sad, but it’s really bad with the domestic auto makers the dealer quality varies so much. I didn’t have any issues with my F150 except getting rear ended and needing surgery on my neck afterwards that wasn’t Fords fault though. I had some issues with my Silverado and Gm took care of the issues. I had a rattle because the original door latch design wasn’t right they fixed it no problem. I have probably had to take a GM product in for warranty work more than they Fords we have owned, but it wasn’t a huge problem they give a free rental too use.
Stuttering…..hmmm…..throttle position sensor maybe?
Im tellin you guys, you make the move to ram, issue free!
Well you have a good chance that if you have a Dodge there is a good chance it was built in Warren MI where I live. They were either built in Mexico, Warren or St. Louis they closed St. Louis when they had that little issue of needing some extra cash.

Seems like everyone on here lives up in that area, crazyandy, dewalttoycollector, seems like a lot of tool manufacturers plants and headquarters up that way.
We go through a lot of vehicles. I was a die hard Chevy guy for years, but only used them as a means to get to and from work. Now that I’m self-employed and use it every day to work out of, I went to a Tundra and love it.
Running a buddy of mine. (I’m in the black truck)
Wow, pretty hot truck. Bet the Camaro driver was as surprised as I am.
Nice truck, what does your tundra look like?
How the heck do you post a picture?

Nothing fancy, but lots of room, quiet and comfortable. It’s nice climbing into after a long day.
I think I’m about to pull the trigger on a remote start system so I can cool it down (or heat it up) a few minutes before getting into it.
NIce truck, You own the lift or renting?
Thank you. I just rent the lifts…I can’t justify the cost of purchasing one yet.
Very nice. I will try another dealer to see what they find.

LOL issue free in a dodge truck, Don’t be foolish haha
Every new dodge truck comes with free tie rods and ball joints as spares under the back seat

Eric, if your truck is an ecoboost, get them to look at the plugs and the CAC (charge air controller) There is a problem with moisture building up in them and causing misfires and other driveability issues… Plugs might have improper gap as well… But the stutter isn’t normal… Ecoboost’s can and will haul ass at the stab of the throttle and can and will race a new Hemi… and get better fuel mileage to boot…
New Dodge truck is more of a car now then a truck, terrible payload rating, can’t haul a decent size camper trailer without airbags, truck sags bad with any load in the box all because of the coil springs… Dodge is moving toward the city truck guy that does nothing with his truck but drive around town, only Ford and GM left to do the work… The salesman at the local dodge dealer said the same thing, Dodge is going after the truck guy who just drives it, looking at a guy who wants it as a car…
Sounds good. Thanks for the pointers. I am going to take it and see. Wish I knew more about engines etc.

I just got my car and driver magazine in, they happened to have the new ford chevy and dodge 1500’s in there, they all three averaged the same gas mileage. IMO real trucks dont have spark plugs.

Anytime, It a highly documented issue with the ecoboost trucks… Ford come out with a revised CAC and spark plug gap for the trucks, The trucks seemed to have a big variation in gap from the supplier and that caused issues, but mostly was in the CAC which is basically the trucks intercooler… Ford also has PCM updates as well, you can do a bit of research and probably won’t take you long to find info
Your Ford dealer should help you out, bring it some info from the net if you can, get them to look into it… If not find another dealer for sure…
I like tools but the auto industry is more my specialty
My Dodge has 102,000 miles on it. I put a water pump on it at 98,000. Other than that, I’ve had no issues at all with it.

We are at 85000, Done nothing at all! Except change the oil, Not even new tires, They are BFG all terrain, they just keep going!
Never had to do much with mine either just normal wear and tear brakes, tires etc
