We are getting a brushless sawzall, circular saw, grinder, heavy duty impact wrench, and multi tool with tool less blade changing.

Conductor562Member since Nov 2011

That’s pretty much game, set, and match 🙂

DR99Member since Nov 2012

I’m excited for the circular saw, sawzall, and multitool. The grinder and big impact would be nice but they would never be used that often to justify buying them right now I have a ryobi grinder and 1/2 inch impact wrench it’s fine for what I’m doing.

Im using conductor’s famous words: It takes time to make good, leading tools(DeWalt) haha 🙂

Conductor562Member since Nov 2011

I’ve never used a cordless grinder that was worth a damn. In the early days the power and battery life just wasn’t there. By the time the batteries got where they needed to be, the overload protection came along and screwed it up. I can’t say I’ll never own one, but it probably won’t be any time soon.

firefighter4187Member since Mar 2013

Another thing is  why would me or you, who is working out of the garage, need a cordless angle grinder…

Kind of a play on words there, lol. Regardless of how good or bad they are, Dewalt is still going to be that depressing yellow that reminds you of the first piss of the morning following an all night drinking binge 😆

firefighter4187Member since Mar 2013

Haha well at least i can find my tools after a long day of work in the elements vs. being that red tool that blends in with every other tool on the market……..  🙂

DR99Member since Nov 2012

Never had any problems with my M18 fuel and it put in tons of 5/8 inch anchors in during my basement install. The guy in the first video was trying to hole saw in second gear and Milwaukee contacted him about the issue. The only thing I’m pissed at Milwaukee was I sold my old fuel drill to upgrade to 4.0ah batteries and I can’t find a kit that has them.

Conductor562Member since Nov 2011

There are turds in every All-Star lineup. For example, The Murderer’s row era Yankees, 90’s Bulls, and 80’s 49ERS lost games. They’re among the greatest teams in the history of their respective sports, but none of them won a title every year. Have you ever heard of Dennis Hopson? He won 2 NBA Championships with the Chicago Bulls in 1991 and 92, but he was terrible and played next to never. You remember Jordan, Pippen, Grant, Armstrong, etc., but you have no idea who the hell Hopson was. Look at the Beatles, how did Ringo end up in on the same stage as fucking John Lennon, Paul McCartney, and George Harrison? Milwaukee is entitled to a turd every once in awhile 🙂

firefighter4187Member since Mar 2013

I heard that DeWalt has an oscillating tool in production, I wonder if this will be brushless along with a new circ saw and recip.

Hahahaha I only found one turd from dewalt, it was two Australians with an old xrp and somehow blew it up….

DR99Member since Nov 2012

Found this drill with a bad brake.
JethMember since Jun 2013

Milwaukee, dewalt, bosch, makita they all have good tools they all have bad tools , the funny thing is that most people that are bashing a brand of tool never use that brand or used one tool that was bad and think that the brand is bad

I rag on Dewalt mostly to give Chase a hard time. In reality they all have things they do better and worse than others but are typically pretty comparable in terms of overall quality. Dewalt is ugly though 🙂

Haha I do the same to conductor about Milwaukee..

Hahaha ! Your like a old couple , get a room a red and yellow one , and that is ugly !

Theres a bunch of people who are scared of a few bad stories but in the main the new generation lithium ion tools are mostly great.

I have a metabo grinder 18v and it is the best on the market full stop because it works exactly the same as a corded and just the same power and the batteries last an age even on the job site.

So please don’t be put off cordless by these people.  🙂

DR99Member since Nov 2012

Like Wayne said there are always going be defective tools with the level of complexity shit can go sideways. How the company  treats you is just as important. Most of the horror stories are about the early lithium ion tools the cell tech wasn’t their was well as the electronics to protect the batteries. Once we see 6 to 8ah batteries I think your really going to see very few corded tools on the job site, and I bet OSHA will help this along also because of the trip and fall hazards with cords.

DR99Member since Nov 2012

What brushless tools would you like to see next? I would like to see a brushless ros sander and a vacuum. I know an 18v brushless SDS isn’t that far away. Just for conductor a brushless pop rivet gun that might be a tad over kill for that task.

Conductor562Member since Nov 2011

I bet a brushless Jig saw is on the horizon

Harold WrayMember since Jun 2013

I’m wondering how small they can get a brushless engine right now.  The smallest brushless tool I have personally seen so far was the just released Bosch MXH180B Oscillating tool.

Conductor562Member since Nov 2011

They can get them pretty small. They’ve been using the in RC cars for years.

firefighter4187Member since Mar 2013

Well The fuel Hammer Drill driver came in this Morning!! I had just enough time to open it up charge the battery and take it to work, ITS GREAT! Tomorrow I will do a video review and also I am going to do a runtime test with my premium 20v Drill Driver with a 1 1/4 in spade in 3X. I dont know if this is how Milwaukee tools sound or I have a defect, when I release the trigger and the chuck comes to a stop and I hear a very high-pitched scratching noise…?

Conductor562Member since Nov 2011

Brushless tools are notoriously whiny

Conductor562 wrote:

Ok Im glad its not just mine, Now it seems like my DeWalt may be a bit faster……do brushless motors no have as much torque…

Conductor562Member since Nov 2011

From my experience Dewalt typically has more RPM’s while Milwaukee typically puts out more power (torque). I’ll take the extra power every time. A drill only needs to be so fast. Extra torque will benefit you in every situation (especially metal and concrete), those extra RPM’s are really only useable in wood.

Advantage: Milwaukee

firefighter4187Member since Mar 2013

Yeah I see what you mean now, It blew through Brick Mortar!

Conductor562Member since Nov 2011

I love how the side handle works on the Milwaukee. I also like that it doesn’t double as a Battleship anchor like the DCD985 😆

firefighter4187Member since Mar 2013

Yeah I really like the handle also, is is so much shorter than the dewalt also, Do you think this will be Milwaukee’s top of the line drill for a while?

Conductor562Member since Nov 2011

I think it will Chase. I can’t see any significant changes anytime soon.

DR99Member since Nov 2012

I don’t see them changing too soon they have ton more tools too update too brushless I would say your safe for a good 2-3 years excluding battery updates.

DR99Member since Nov 2012

Plus some tools It might be along time before they get a brushless update where the bl tech isn’t worth the extra cost, or is appropriate.

firefighter4187Member since Mar 2013

Do you think they will release a brushless hackzall soon?

Conductor562Member since Nov 2011

ChaseRogers wrote:

I’d say it will be in the next batch of brushless releases. I’d like to see an M18 Jig Saw in a design similar to the M12. That M12 Jig Saw is awesome!

firefighter4187Member since Mar 2013

Yeah, Do you have the Hackzall?

Conductor562Member since Nov 2011

ChaseRogers wrote:

I do not. It’s one of those things I’ve always meant to get but never went through. If I were to get one, I’d want the M12 version for the compact size. I really want the M12 caulking gun. I like the grease gun, but I wouldn’t use it enough to justify the price. I’m thinking about the sub scanner, but the Milwaukee came out pretty early and I understand that’s on time that the Dewalt version is superior.

DR99Member since Nov 2012

I have the M12 Hackzall I never used the 18v version I dunno if I would like it any bigger. I will admit  Dewalt has the superior 12v reciprocating saw right now the ability to change handle position is pretty sweet.

I have the M12 sub scanner I like it It’s way better than any stud finder I ever used they are such a pain to use the cheap ones.  I think the Milwaukee scans deeper but the Dewalt identifies different materials better

wayneburgessMember since May 2012

Be under no illusion folks don’t get carried away I tested side by side today the Milwaukee fuel v the older 4 pole motor model and the older model will drill bigger holes for longer.

The fuel will drill smaller holes longer than the older model.

This is an inescapable fact with all brushless versus 4 pole brushed drills.  🙂

Harold WrayMember since Jun 2013

I had no idea about how brushless motors being notorious whiney and small enough for rc’s.  That m12 jigsaw is sweeeeet.  My ($.02) is Milwaukee is not going to have any other brushless tools this year (besides the ones we just saw).  Some of those say released in Oct. I’m guessing they showed these before release to deflate the hype of DeWalts new brushless line.  Just my guess.

Very well said Harold. I agree 100%

crazyandyMember since Feb 2013

I am curious to see what new technology after brushless there with be.

Conductor562Member since Nov 2011

I have heard that the next battery technology is “Lithium Air” but I don’t know the first damn thing about it.

Harold WrayMember since Jun 2013

Interesting technology. Here’s what Wikipedia says:

lithium-air battery, Li-air for short, is a metal-air battery chemistry that uses the oxidation of lithium at the anode and reduction of oxygen at the cathode to induce a current flow.

The major appeal of the Li-air battery is the extremely high energy density, a measure of the amount of energy a battery can store for a given volume, which comes far closer than the energy density of most other types of batteries to that of traditional gasoline powered engines. Li-air batteries gain this advantage in energy density since they use oxygen from the air instead of storing an oxidizer internally.

crazyandyMember since Feb 2013

INTERESTING!

JethMember since Jun 2013

I would like to see it aganst the new Milwaukee fuel grinder , metabo makes great tools i would like to try there cordless barrel grip jig saw

firefighter4187Member since Mar 2013

I wish Milwaukee would make a barrel grip M18….
