I am thinking about buying a bunch of M12 Gen 2 tools but I wonder if they will be phased out in a year or two with M12 Gen 3 tools. When do you think M12 Gen 3 will debut?

The current generation of M12 has been around about 2 years, they are more than capable tools. I would hope Milwaukee would focus on improving older brushed models and other areas where tools are needed than redesigning drills that don’t need it. Today is their New Product Symposium so we may find out today the answer to your question.

No Gen 3 Announced that I saw. They announced an M12 Surge Impact. A longer wrench. As mentioned above a Multi-head “Installer drill” as well.
I saw an advertisement for the new M12 Surge. I have a few of the M12 drills and impact drivers, right angle drill, couple of Hackzalls, inspection camera, even a M12 radio. Love the M12 stuff for storm door installs, HVAC work, etc. Really looking forward to trying this thing out.
