I have to disagree me and everyone who has used my 60v blower loves it. Me as well
Now keep in mind I use it in a construction environment not landscaping
Assume $249 is bare tool?

Had one and sold it. Even the gen2 Milwaukee is better. This new one might have a shot at taking the crown from Ego and Makita. The 60v is good compared to the little dust blowers that all brands seem to have clones of.

Probably. The OPE kits are generally 400+ CAD. Some occasional crazy deals pop up though.
Good find. See how it will fair against Makita’s x2 blower.
The old design was a design based off of gas blowers. I see a loss of efficiency due to the battery being directly behind the air intake. The inline design is a more efficient design.

Although the model number given with that price is dcbl772X1 which the X1 is the code for a kit with one 3.0/9.0 battery.
dang. just bought one….
that looks a lot more compact.
Looks similar to the ego….and would be more powerful..nice find 👍

until the commercial Ego arrives. that thing has 600 cfm. I’m not sure on the mph. So they would be pretty equal in power.

Dewalt has gotta start bundling these high draw tools with at least the 3/9ah…the 20v lawnmower is great with a couple 9ah… milwaukee is giving free 12ah with all HO tools ..and it’s priced well below the flexvolt.
Spotted at my local HD
Check dewalt owners group on fb.
comes with 9.0ah battery and charger for $269

flexvolt blower is getting an update. Maybe the one you saw is the old design?
…so they throw in a 9ah, great… and then the junk charger?! Get it together Dewalt, ffs this is embarrassing. What’s it take 8hrs to charge a 9 on those pieces of shit? 🙄🤦♂️
Here you go boys.

damn, and i just bought the old style…
you buy it at home depot? got a store sku? i dont see it on their site.
Yes, have to search in individual stores. Not all put them out on the shelves or in overhead yet. No SKU available as it’s not in their system under one.framer wrote:

Like the FV string trimmer. Big battery, small charger.
Probably to keep the price down for the homeowner buying his first FV tool. The gateway tool.
Anybody that uses FV for a living already has several fast chargers.

Just buy bare………

250 for a FV trimmer with a 3/9 battery
180 for same bare tool.
70 for a battery makes it a no brainer.
Imagine it’s the same for the blower.
Ya, I think the small charger is a non issue for many people but the price point makes it attractive to people just buying cordless OPE for their house.

Hello All,
New to the forum. I was snooping around Home Depot last night, looking at the upper shelves, and saw a small stock of these new blowers. I was able to get my hands on one, even though the associate told me they are not supposed to be on display yet.
I haven’t used it fully yet, but a few minutes in the garage. Its got a good balance, and is not too heavy feeling. It is a bit “whiny” though.

Sounds loud, but nice upgrade
yeah the sound is definetly different. .like a turbine
i like the shape. easier to store in van.
This beast may yet replace my X2 Makita. Curious to see Canadian pricing when it eventually makes its way North. Deals can be had with enough patience so it may be a while for me yet.

My thing is if you end up with enough different tools in the collection, that you end up with a couple of decent chargers and larger batteries. So which battery, or which charger my next purchase comes with is not super important.
In fact normally I try to just by the bare tool to save money.
Yet a kit on sale while reselling the battery and charger generally represents a much better deal than a bare tool. All Dewalt chargers that aren’t fan cooled at this point are basically obsolete jokes.

There’s nothing decent about Dewalt trickle chargers. As Bremon says if it’s not yellow, it’s garbage.
Once you go to the 4 port even the single yellow chargers become obsolete
Perhaps Dewalt figures a person with a blower is just going to charge at end of day and leave overnight, so a slower charge would be healthier for the battery.
They aren’t putting that much thought into it. Dollars and cents my man.framer wrote:

Cheaper slower chargers keeps the kit price down in the range they feel is best to sell.

You really think it costs Dewalt much more to make the yellow charger? I doubt it.

You really think they spend a red cent more than they think they have to to maximize value for shareholders? Even if it only costs $0.5 more than a 115, then they charge $10 more MSRP and the beancounter and marketing math shows that the $10 higher price point sells X amount fewer compared to the value proposition a competitor has assembled, which results in X missed sales, revenue, profits, etc.

Let’s ask Dewalt to settle this! 🙂
Pfft, I got a week in Miami coming up in early June and one of these bad boys will be coming home to the UK with me (sans charger!)
Any online retailers got stock or is this HD only at moment?
Contacted Dewalt bare tool not available, couldn’t tell me when it will be available. Dewalt would like to sell you charger and battery, I am not sure why they cannot make the bare tool available I am sure they are not made where the charger and battery are made.
Poor marketing and answer to my question! Not impressed.
