Hoping one of you guys can help because I’m running out of ideas!
So far, I’ve:
- replaced the brushes (didn’t help)
- cleaned the commutator (didn’t help but looks brand new now)
- replaced the switch (even though my multi-meter is telling me the old one is working properly)
What else could be the problem? Saw takes about 8-10 seconds to come to a rest.

google search says it is the armature if the other fixes you did did not fix it
You can test the armature with a multimeter for damage to any windings.
check the blade tightness
