So I spoke with a rep late last week about upcoming tools as my company is considering buying into a new battery lines. Thought I would pass along the gossip that they let loose and see what the insiders here had to say… or not say….
I asked about bout the next version of the power station (since we bought recently- must be time for a new mode!). The reps (4) said that there is NOT a new version coming any time soon and they stopped Developement on a multi-output outlet design. 4 port fast charger only this summer/fall.
New version with minor changes to framing nailer.
More tough system options- but they didn’t have a cooler with them so they could have been referencing this.
Battery powered full size shop vac, they didn’t know any details (even voltage).
Bigger blade concrete saw, timing unknown.
More lighting options.
12 AH kits
Accessories “out the wazoo” (not sure how to spell that last one…)
At least one “Big surprise”.
Honestly it it seemed like they were trying to make it seem like they have exciting stuff coming but seemed underwhelmed themselves.
Hopefully the big surprise isn’t the cordless router that seems to be an open secret.
12 ah kits will be nice.
That alleged shop vac better be 120v Max and use the mitre adapter now that the dream of a table saw seems to have gotten the Old Yeller treatment.

Say again? Cordless router on the horizon?
I missed something?? Table saw is dead?
It’s been mentioned here and there on the internet for weeks if not months by people who are well connected that a cordless router is coming. That’s been in many responses to complaints of a nice teal router with no yellow alternative.
10” 60v mitre and 10” 120v hybrid table saw are both dead in the water from what I’ve read due to new regulations on table size for both tools relative to blade size. A 10” would be a full size table saw rather than a 10” compact and the regulations are why the cordless 10”’ Makita is a fat pig like the FlexVolt lol.
I’ll take that 120v Vac.
And would like to give a Gen 3 Framer a chance maybe they will use hitachis compressed air system this time
Well I got a 692 I’m going to have to sell nowStaypositive wrote:

? Still relying on the Spring design 🙈.
Dissapointing to see a 20v battery.
30 Degree to 21′ ??
There is an updated 33° coming too.JakeDewalt wrote:

Pretty pumped to see that update. I’m sure many will be pleased to be able to fire full head nails out of a Dewalt with this thing though. Code doesn’t care about clipped here though; we don’t have to batten down the hatches on a regular basis.

It’s not far away my Dewalt rep told me,
Pretty sure it’s out this summer. Not positive though. Glad I held off of Makita and Milwaukee.
But does it come with a rafter hook?
🤣

about time!
GREAT !
suggestion: pic owner start a new/own thread to structure a bit more
model number , tech. specs, assumed availability, etc
any pic of the cordless router or other new tools ?
Hopefully if they’re really doing a cordless router it will be a Felxvolt design (and therefore less compact than the Makita), prompting Makita to release a larger cordless router of their own. I love the Makita compact but would also like it if they had a bigger model.
It would cool to see a flexvolt router table and 20v compactToolBane wrote:

So your saying the cordless router is confirmed?

It’s been as good as confirmed for ages by reputable sources.

Yes, it’s coming very soon

By very soon can we expect before the end of summer? I’ve got a kid on the way and would like to buy a few tools to round out my shop before I need to take a loan out to buy diapers.
we are all hot for a cordless router pic !
any findings ???
So Hott this week I wish I had…..
20v BucketTop MisterFan.
Come on Dewalt the Tradesman are Overheating
Belgium is getting new deWalt jigsaws in September. Both body grip and d handle.
We’re going to be a dewalt dealer most likely pretty soon 🙂
Finally. Any more info/pics on those? [emoji57]kornomaniac wrote:

No nothing yet sorry 🙂 was discussing with the deWalt rep what tools to stock up on for our deWalt display when he mentioned keeping some space for new stuff coming in September event in Belgium. Only would tell me about jigsaws 🙂
Does anyone know if dewalt have a new 20v mitre day in the works? Have the flexvolt but some days you don’t need to big boy and i feel the current 20v mitre is pretty average. Even considered buying into red for there 7 and a quarter but would rather stay in one platform
Not until beginning of 2019. That’s the word on the streets from what I heard.Roasty wrote:

I found a slick deal on a 7.25 M18 but I think waiting for yellow is more prudent for me as well.
Anyone notice the noise of this saw? I tried the 20v miter the other day for the first time and it is almost a squeal when it cuts. It is louder than most saws. Hopefully DeWALT can fix this problem with the brushless version.

How big a space did he say and what kind of space? If the space allotted for new stuff is lots of shelf space then it might be an indication that the new brushless 12v is coming sooner than we expect? or lots of floor space might mean new larger tools like a flex vac or 10 in flex table saw?
Awesome so dewalt has some new brushless jigsaw coming

Nothing so in detail.

I’ll never understand why this, of all tools, would be a priority over obvious missing tools in the lineup. It’s literally the last tool that needs to be brushless.
I disagree. The current DeWalt jigsaw is very lacking and has not been changed a bit from its release around 2005 except for the battery mount to 20v.Hugh Jass wrote:

An updated design and barrel grip are desperately needed.
I agree with Hugh on this one. I use the jig saw a lot and don’t feel it has any real weakness. Maybe add a light and better bevel adjustment but that wouldn’t be enough to make me upgrade. I’m not into the barrel grip but understand if that is what you are used to it would be nice. What do you feel it is lacking?
The price of it, here at least, is ridiculous. I bought my barrel grip brushless Makita for the same price. It’s an antique. It should be priced like an antique. I’ll be happy to buy a brushless tool that I feel justifies the price, so I’ll eventually have a pair of XR jigsaws and probably sell the Makita.
It is one of the few tools in the US that I never find good deals on. Almost always selling for around 150. I picked mine up on ebay a couple years ago for 120.
Now that we’ve got the cordless sander and router (assuming rumors are true). What other tools would you guys like to see cut the cord? I know it’s more of a speciality tool but I’d love to see a brushless biscuit jointer, FV or 20V, I’m not that picky.
Makita has their cordless 18v biscuit joiner. Definitely doesn’t need to be 60v. A 20v biscuit would be a handy item.Rtorres092382 wrote:

@Bremon the 692 shoots paslode full head… clipped ain’t code… finally can sell my Ryobi and Ridgid cordless routers and Sanders…been a long wait.
If the new framing gun shoots only plastic clips, that will suck… plastic sucks…
Really wanted a cordless 10″ mitre saw, that sucks…..I’ll get the new barrel jiggy for the truck…I’ll keep the carvex and mafell for the shop…
..damn seems like dewalt is slow rolling shit out again…..never understand it…..love an upgraded 791 and 877…
Clipped head are code in my neck of the woods. I know framers who didn’t know you could shoot full head out of a nail gun. Very much a “your mileage may vary” thing lol. You’ll never see plastic around here because of price.
I do agree that Dewalt seems to be working at a snail’s pace lately. The lack of FlexVolt announcements especially make me roll my eyes and think “well, platform flavour of the week might be coming to an end”, even though I know it isn’t. Seriously though. A steady drip of goodies builds more confidence.

Yea I’m a bit perplexed, the came to war and dropped a bomb, then followed that up with Snakes and Sparklers. 🤔
