Dan said NPS 2018 is the next event TIA will be going to. I guess we can talk about it here. Maybe before it happens we can do predictions/rumors then after it happens we can talk about what was announced?
Whats NPS? Google didnt gave any tool-related results.

Milwaukee New Product Synopsis. It is the yearly event for new Milwaukee tools. If you search Milwaukee NPS 2017 you should get a taste of what NPS is all about. I hope this helps
Rumor has it Milwaukee is working on more carbide and going to introduce 21700 cells in their batteries sometime.
Man hope they dont come up with anything game changing that makes me regret going with team teal. I have like 3-4k€ worth of Makita.
I think Milwaukee might be putting out a dual voltage product because they are running an ad going on about the M18 line and the future
I’m betting we will see an m18 battery with 21700 cells. We are probably due for gen 3 m18 drills and impacts and it’s rumored that there is a compressor and worm drive saw in the works too.
I hope to see a gen 2 m12 impact wrench. I know I’ve said it in other threads but maybe if I say it enough it’ll come true haha. Hoping for shorter and in the neighborhood of 130ft/lbs, which I don’t think is asking too much based on the gen 2 m12 impact driver. I’ve also noticed cpo has dropped recon prices of the gen 1 impact wrenches by about $10 in the last month and home depot has a free bare tool with the purchase of a m12 impact wrench kit. Makes me hopeful they’re clearing inventory getting ready for a gen 2.

Not worried about anything “game-changing” myself enough for that. How quickly do any of these companies ever changeover their entire lineup, or even a significant proportion, to tip the scales that significantly? Would take several years, during which time Makita is releasing tools too. Heck, the best thing that can happen for Makita users is Milwaukee releasing a few cool tools forcing Makita to up their game on some tools they haven’t had to bother with for a while.
The only thing that could make me regret having gone Makita recently would be the ridiculously unlikely event that Makita goes completely belly-up in the next couple years. Not remotely a worry to me.

Here is what Milwaukee said/claimed. They will be able to move to 21700 cells and be competitive with these cells for another 10 years. It may not be word for word but that was the gist of what they said.

Milwaukee has confirmed this. Not sure if this will be the year for the upgrade or not.
All I’m hoping for is for Milwaukee to announce new tools that actually are available in the relatively near future. Announcing things that may come out in April 2019, but then slip to July 2019 is incredibly annoying. Perhaps I’m spoiled by short development cycles in the tech industry, but can you imagine the blowback if Apple announced a spiffy new toy that you couldn’t even order for more than a year?
Im hoping we see a 6 1/2″ M12 circular saw.
A new jigsaw would be nice to 🙂

A few Milwaukee tools have taken awhile to reach the market lately usually they got them out pretty quick.
I wish brands were more consistent and more informative about release dates. Some things take what seems like ages to come out. Other things seem to get released out of the blue with very little notice beforehand. At events if they don’t have a definitive date they should at least say the time of year (holiday, winter, spring, summer, fall, etc.) and year it will come out. When the time of year arrives they should by then say either month and time of month (early, mid, late) or say exact date.
I think the M18 SDS max took like a whole year before it was available and the higher capacity Ryobi packs took even longer.
Anyone think Milwaukee will change their mind on m18x2? Far as I know, officially this is how it currently stands. Milwaukee stated at last year’s NPS that dual m18 tools will not be a thing. There NPS18 teaser indicates something big with batteries is coming. I don’t see an upgrade to 21700 cells, which they have confirmed is coming, as being big enough to be what they are hinting at in the teaser. Other companies have upgraded to bigger cells and it wasn’t a game changing announcement.
My guess is Milwaukee will deny that they are looking at m18x2 as long as their 28V platform retains enough of a base that will get miffed when they find their m28 tools are dead-end tech. There’s no way they can honestly not be thinking in that direction when littlest brother Ryobi already has “X2” tools with 6-9Ah batteries around the corner.
Only other possibility I can imagine they might be looking at is to contrive something analogous to Flexvolt which dances far enough off Dewalt’s design to escape patent infringement.
FUEL chainsaw is coming to the line up, picture popped up and instagram of a Home Depot listing for it, retailed $399
Have also heard about a M12 impact wrench
Another NPS2018 hint released. Guys are getting t-shirts with STUD™ on the front underneath the Milwaukee logo.
Gen three impact coming???

I never really wanted a battery powered chainsaw, but I want this!
@BK13 some say the demo was rigged but I don’t know if it was or not. I thought the m18 didn’t seem to bog down under load.
Just watched a video on new M12 impact wrenches…. 1/2” and 3/8” with OVER 250 FT/LBS OF TORQUE! Holy cow!
Watched the same video this is the tool that will make me have to start carrying m12 batteries on my truck. While I think I will love these stubby impacts I kind of wish they would have made the 3/8″ the same platform as the 1/4″ or had two 3/8″models . I get that they’re designed to replace stubby air impacts that auto mechanics use but the heads get kind of big in diameter making it so you can get in a tight corner.
Has anyone posted a complete list of what was announced? I saw the M12 rocket light, chainsaw, M12 impact wrenches, the new batteries, and the jigsaws but haven’t been able to catch up on everything yet. I briefly saw some kind of rover light that folds flat and the back is a carabiner, but Instagram refreshed and I never got back to it.

I don’t have a list but maybe @JimboS1ice, @Eric – TIA, @KnarlyCarl, or someone else has made one?

To clarify those rachets are in a slim case but not the packout slim case. Also Packout has foam inserts, a small box without metal corners, and the wall mounting plate coming.
Oh crap, I didn’t see the 3/8” mid torque impact…
I think the M12 cutoff may make it into my garage….
Hmm this is very interesting. I was watching @Eric – TIA’s and @Dan – TIA’s new video and it showed some banners on the wall I was surprised the new 7-1/4″ circ saw specifically left out fuel but added brushless underneath. I wonder why the New circular saw is not advertised as fuel? Maybe they had 2 new models come out?
Maybe that’s been released as well as a budget option. I saw a video of a new compact brushless drill (non-fuel) also released but I haven’t heard anything about it.
@JimboS1ice Thanks Jimbo.
Looks like I have some saving to do. Lights, jigsaw, batteries, chainsaw, Impact wrenches, and the packout wall mount and slim organizers are all on my list. Glad some of it’s spread out over the year.
A bit disappointed that the only OPE item was the chainsaw, was hoping for a mower.
Has anybody seen a projected release date for anything? (Most interested in the impact wrenches/driver and cutoff tool.)
All I saw was for the new drill on Acme and they say July 5th for a ship date
And I have not even seen the jig saw on the Milwaukee page as of yet.

some stuff q3 or q4 2018 but I don’t remember dates on specific tools.

did you see the auto mode for the barrel grip?
Yes, it has an auto mode and a speed dial from 1 to 6 that disables the auto mode.Jronman wrote:

They were very smooth with excellent blade break when turned off. Can’t wait to get them in my hands.

If I understood it right, it starts slow but will automatically adjust speed depending on if more power is needed.
Milwaukee says the new table saw can do dados. 3/4×1/2 is the max dado. I don’t think the Flexvolt is able to dado. @Framer joe MORE POWA!

That’s a nice feature, the Carvex does the same thing really good feature to have
I generally don’t get swayed by advertising and I rarely buy anything fresh off the presses, but Tool Boss had that Milwaukee snubby impact all over his vids and I want it. Do I need it, no. Want
I love Tool Boss’s trips to home depot. Relaxes me for some reason.

Same here, gonna get the 1/2″ version as soon as its possible 😀
And the barrel grip M18 jig saw is a “yay” to.
The table saw looks nice to, but prices on that in Norway is probably going thru the roof.
Interesting on the jig saw(s). I guess I want to see them reviewed first, as I get that everyone is excited on the forum, but with the new models hopefully they got their electronics right and everything is as good as advertised.
FB82
Some nice kit in there!
The petrol chainsaw didn’t seem to be throwing much dust, maybe they gave it a blunt chain?
That’s a good video, nice to see someone get up close and show the tools a little bit better
