Something is wrong with the electric motor of a Dewalt DW744 portable table saw that I inherited. Smoking, and not working.
Is it worth it to fix it, or too expensive? Should I even bother to take it to an electric motor repair shop?
Thanks.
They haven’t made that one in a while this you try brushes? Is the arbor straight?
No. I don’t know much about motors. Are those the little things with springs attached?
Yup exactly. They are a pretty cheap item to replace too
Here is a link with a break down of your saw…

Ive been using these guys for years, they are great, can be a little slow in shipping but the diagram might allow you to get parts quicker from someone else
Okay, I will try this. Thanks!
If the arbor is out of whack that’ll be a problem but maybe it’ll be a simple and CHEAP fix for a great saw
No worries and welcome to the forums dude
Ugh, bushing for this is obsolete and not available, according to that website link. Will keep searching.
Surely I can try something similar, like for their miter saw?
On the link that I posted above, there is a list of compatible tools, the dw713 is not on it.

Hi Folks, someone have the electrical scheme for the dw744, I didn’t take a picture before unplugging the motor!
Thanks
