i’d like to see a 10 inch flexvolt miter.
and what about rumors of a new cordless framing nailer?
Not sure what’s next out, but I’d love a cordless trim router, lighter more powerful framing gun, bigger capacity flex batt but not bigger casing or heavier!
A 54 Volt combi to make the 996 look like a toy. Think arm wrenching torque, dispense with the side handle at your peril! And definitely not compact! I’m sick of every new drill coming out that’s “more compact than its predecessor”! I hate having to tighten and loosen chucks by putting my hand over the top of the chuck! Not every drill needs to be small.
Some super efficient LED lighting complete with USB outputs.
Let’s see them go after the wood worker now
20v ROS
60v belt sander
20v trim router
60v plunge router
60v or 120v vac

Yes.
And yes.

Pretty much my exact wishlist. Throw in a 20v biscuit joiner and I’ll be pretty close to complete.

Was thinking that too, could even be flex for harder woods

I know I hark on about it but a impact driver like the makita oil impulse/surge would be nice
A 20v router would be awesome, wish they would bring the 20v ratchet to the yellow and black probably going to pick up the new tripod light

If they don’t release a brushless 20v recip saw with a rafter hook on par with the fuel they are just shooting themselves in the foot.
I think the 120V vac would be cool, especially with all of the silica laws coming out. Make something similar to what Hilti has so it has the heppa and can be used in hospitals? Just my two cents.
FB82
what I want is something I haven’t seen far as i know on a jobsite vac. A powered brush attachment for one would be great especially for carpet. Could be easy to implement either power it off a tool actuated port or have it be cordless. I find jobsite vacs are garbage on carpet.

i agree. also, the flexvolt recip saw is too darn heavy. no hook, no 4 blade position. i actually prefer using the current 20v saw.
Brushless jigsaw would be a nice addition also. Pretty much have brushless covered then do they? Well including flexvolt that is

Yeah not sure why the brushed 20v caught so much flak. Granted I’ve used it more than any other recip saws combined, but I never had a problem with mine. It was perfect for a guy like me who just needs it for maybe a couple hours a month. Just worth having for those bolts that a torch and grinder can’t quite get or rough cuts on stainless piping to get the pieces easier to bandsaw. I get that it’s not enough for demo guys though. Probably won’t replace it at least for a while. I have an old Bosch one laying around that I actually like more but batteries for it would be more than a new DeWalt. Maybe I’ll wait and see what kind of 20v they release now that I’m out of any flexvolt tools or batteries.
Still waiting on a damn 1″ drive impact wrench with 2500 foot pound with minimum runtime of being able to loosen and then tighten both parts of 10 budd lugs or ideally do 40 of the two piece budds and then 40 just nuts. That’s enough for a brake job on about anything including tag and steers. Minimum that’s a wheel seal.
I like brushless everything….longer life…..I’m still waiting for all those tools above..
20v trim router……20v random orbit sander…..20v or 60v belt sander….desperately need a light weight 10” cordless mitre saw…..love a barrel grip jigsaw……powerful vac…..20v biscuit joiner…….and with the tripod light coming and the table…and the rear handle…..I would pretty much have everything I need to frame and build decks……………of course a 12ah (skip the 10) battery ,would be perfect for my needs!!

So is it a 10 inch slider or fixed you want? They make the DHS716 in a couple of varieties, it is a 12″ dual compound non slider that DeWALT’s website says weighs 44 pounds, so there is around 20 less pounds in that saw than the 790. It says it will cut 4 X 6s and is a little confusing about crosscuts, it lists cross cuts at 2 X 8 or 2 X 10 (with back fence), which I am guessing actually means back fence removed for 2 X 10.

I like that saw but it’s a bit big to haul around. I’d even take a fixed 10. Just something bigger than the current 7 1/4 cordless.

I knew about the wheel barrow and the 9 inch saw sounds doable but is the rider actually going to be a thing? will it be dual battery? Quad battery? Other?
Drywall sander please 🙂

Yeah Dewalt making a Planex style sander would be cool.
10”fixed mitre will cut the railings I use and most other trim ……also it would br lighter…

Ive only seen the 8 inch not the 10 but if they are the same design the big problem with them is that the only bevel one way. I just find it annoying when i have to flip work pieces around or turn them over and mark the back minus the mitre width etc especially in a tight work environment. If i was dual bevel I would buy one tomorrow. It would be great if they made a 10 inch in the same design as the corded 10 inch which is a great saw.

why do these european saws have these odd handles that look like a worm drive?

I had never seen that kind of Mitre saw in New Zealand before the Dewalt cordless one. It almost like it is just a flexvolt circular saw with some rails attached lol. I am informed that it is a good and handy saw though. It’s Just single bevel saws aren’t for me presonally.

I held of getting the jigsaw for a while because I want a brushless one, but then I got one and it is brilliant. It is really nicely made I love the blade release mechanism, blower function and quick change bevel angle. A cordless jigsaw is actually a really great tool you wouldn’t think it needs to be cordless but when you are cutting around corners etc you don’t have to worry about running over the cord and the cord twisting all over the place. Anyway the moral of the story is the current Dewalt jigsaw is great and don’t be silly like me and hold off buying it as the current one becaise you are missing out

I think very few people run a jigsaw more than an hour a day – the kind of usage that would benefit from brushless.
While a reciprocating saw drains batteries with a quickness, a jigsaw will run a long time.

Getting back to wishlists I’d like to talk about stationary tools that I’d love to see in black and yellow:
- Oscillating spindle sander
- Benchtop drill press
I feel like they’re only scratching the surface with the scroll saw. Don’t get me wrong because I’d like to see a lathe, drum sander and cabinet saw but I’m not sure how feasible those would be.
Dewalt has a cordless scroll saw ?
I don’t know if we will see too much expansion in bench top tools. I just dosen’t seem to be a market most companies seem to be interested in. Most of them are made by a few different companies in Taiwan and China sold in different colors.

No corded bench top.
I’d buy 20v respirator. Something like this. Looks more comfortable than a disposable mask or cheap non disposable. No nose soreness and the powered function would seem like it would make breathing easier since air would be flowing in. Also has another benefit that it acts as eye protection too.

They are so expensive though. It would be at least $800. Ventilated welding helmets like that are 2k.
I have seen some in the $200-$300 range. Still alot vs disposable and non powered but I would think the better seal and more comfort would make it worth the price.
Another feature is certain models work with beards if you have one.
I hadn’t thought about air helmets for quite awhile. I have three or four Racal Airstream setups packed away here somewhere. Holy rack a monkey Monday, I could have sold them for a boat load more than I originally paid for them if I had tried to sell them a few years back. Unfortunately, filter packs for them are near impossible to come by, with the exception of the breath easy unit, and also super expensive. Prior to Racal Airstream giving up the ghost, I had purchased some replacement parts and those are now worth their weight too. After looking at the price of the battery packs (3M) for them, I could have swallowed my teeth. Honestly, I do not see the value that 3M attributes to the system and their attitude is probably why that particular tool system is no longer readily available outside of the used Market.
The units I have are eminently functional, but, without access to chemical filter packs, it is looking like their only true value will be as parts.

I actually own the makita brushless barrel grip. Good jigsaw but has two really annoying things about it, soft start which doesn’t speed up till feels pressure against the blade which is sometimes a nuisance to trigger in lighter materials, on/off switch which requires a second hand to turn off. I only mentioned the dewalt because it is one of the more popular tools that hasn’t made the transition to brushless yet
I’d like to see a barrel grip jigsaw like the Festool Carvex. I hate the top handle / d handle (whatever the proper term is) jigsaws with a passion. I’m still hoping for a Milwaukee version but if DeWalt comes out with one first I’m jumping on it. I don’t want to spend $500+ for the Festool and be into another battery platform. Bare tool under $200 would be perfect.
The Dewalt jig works great ,but I too prefer barrel grip….the Bosch 18v barrel grip jig is a fantastic. It should be they invented it…..wish Dewalt would give us more options, less gadget stuff….

Depends on the application, for finer work I like a barrel grip, curves, scrolling, detail work but (I know your anti-red) lol however I use the m18 jig for more HD work like finishing out stair treads and rougher work
