flex miter or flex track saw (with Festool guide rails) would be my suggestions.
Just be sure to keep them all locked up safe, too many thieving gits around!
I have a guide for my circular, and have a miter, while those would be nice I would use the nail guns way more, my current gun is a hammer lolJronman wrote:

All depends on your use long term. I see the older compact impact 885 ? …..IMO the dcf 887 impact and the dcd791 are the best out there…also the 899 is a beast (yes Milwaukee finally beat it with (1400) lbs ..but it’ll do everything you need..and thanks to @ChrisK ..I got the 20v sds plus and what a pleasure it is to drill holes….I hear a dcn692 next gen is coming so I might wait on that, plus Hitachi has a new battery framer that looks nice……..your killing me when I look at that fan…I love getting tools first…good job !
@Framer joe you planing on getting the flex track saw or flex mixer?
Yeah the 885 is starting to show it’s age but i don’t think I will replace it until it needs it I’m leaning towards the nail guns first unless I find a good deal for the impactFramer joe wrote:

Yeah a decision like that has to be weighed by need. I will say I have the 2 sped framer and the 16ga finisher. Love them both and use them relatively frequently
I have heard the 16g or 15g DeWALT nailers are a good choice for general purpose battery nailers. I have heard mixed reviews on the framer some like it some don’t. I would guess the rumored gen 3 framer will be a nice improvement.
Yeah the framer does get mixed reviews, I have also read that using a 6.0+ battery helps to minimize the problems. But I would like to see a gen 3 soon but I doubt it will be before I buyJronman wrote:

You don’t know what you’re missing, it’s a night and day difference! I use mine more than any other tool.
@Cr8ondt you gonna upgrade to the better 888?
The 888 is the same as the 887 just with tool connect built inJronman wrote:

Yeah, I use that 887 all the time. It’s a pure beast and a lot of people whine about that speed 1 but it’s actually quite useful once you get used to it. Especially when working delicate stuff.
yep I’m interested in seeing how a user can adjust the precision drive mode.
@ChrisK I use speed 1 quite often
Does the usb slide on charger work well or is it slow as a turtle?
That’s the one that comes with the heated jacket, it is slow to charge my phone, but the USB port on the new Bluetooth radio is a fast chargerjrs5565 wrote:

Better is subjective in this case…. I might get it but I’m not in any rush, I have a brand new unused 887 just sitting on my workbench.
You can go ahead and get the 888 and send me the 887 since you want me to upgrade so bad lolCr8ondt wrote:

@Jronman..I’m waiting for the 10″ flex mitre, the 12″ is too big and heavy for my deck work, but we have two for framing ,it’s a nice saw I make the laborers carry it, and set it up..lol…….as far as a track saw,….NO….it’s not my thing. We have a Festool track saw at work and it cuts a perfect line, rafters, plywood etc..I’ve tried and .I just can’t get used to it, I’ve been framing and doing decks 30 plus years, maybe it’s an age thing. ……..ever see a guy cut a log with a chainsaw carving an eagle or bear and be like Picasso? That’s me with a circular saw, its like a part of my arm…..

That’s what I like Jimbo. Fine piece of furniture to assemble after being crafted, some eggs. A TIA video to watch….and the slow bang bang bang of an 887 👍

That’s not a problem. That looks more like a solution!

That’s a nice collection of tools you have. Looks like you have all your bases covered but the DWV012 vacuum would be a great addition. Or get yourself the 895 impact. Been abusing mine for 4 years and it runs as great as the first day I bought it. Heads up though, those things still go for full retail despite being “obsolete”.

How the heck did you get the fan already?

Where is your 20v jigsaw a great underrated 20v tool. Even has a blower built in to keep dust and chips off the line while cutting. Also has orbital settings from straight up and down to a slight forward and back motion for faster cutting.
Paired with some Spyder double sided jigsaw blades and it’s a badass tool.
both
Spider double sided jigsaw blades , wow what’s that ? @JakeDewalt..
@Framer joe

they also make recip blades too….

Now @Cr8ondt..what is the point of the reverse teeth ? Just to flip the blade over when the teeth get dull one one side ?

Nah, it’s to go back when you’ve missed a bit! 😆
@Framer joe on the jigsaw you can get all artsy and stuff, with the recip you can got bat shit crazy with demo. I’ve never personally used anything from them but Lowe’s and Menards stock em.
I don’t see any problem there

these are cool. one side for wood and one for metal. makes a lot of sense.

It’s to aid in tight corners, instead of backing out and making a wider sweep to get in tight you can back the Saw into new material, kind of dumb if you ask me and can really do more harm than good if they aren’t used correctly.
As for the double edged recip blades, I’ve never really ran into a spot demoing I wish I had an edge in both sides of the blade.
The only thing Spyder makes that I would pick up are their hole saws!pretty innovative arbor

I think the double sided demo blade is more useful in the same way the breakaways are. Gets dull, just start cutting with the back side

Spyder sure beats a Bosch jigsaw blade
Thats what’s I used to use because of availability.
That German quality is too nice to go back to China
The only problem I see is…. not enough!!
Menards had those Spyder recip blades on clearance for a buck each about 4 months back. I cleared the shelf and have about 20 8″ and 15 6″. Until the post above I forgot about that purchase but have now located the bag full to give a trial this coming week.
