I would think if you were after mid range you would be using a 3/8.

I’m going to buy and try it ,for setting lags on my decks..instead of the 899… hope it works

LESS POWA ???

Framer joeMember since Nov 2016

I know !!!’ Crazy !!! I’m all for smaller lighter and still “get er done” ….as long as it handles it no problem, I don’t want to beat the tool up, though……

Not necessarily, I personally prefer a 1/2″ even on a compact.  I know different people have different preferences and applications.  It’s possible that a 3/8″ anvil won’t hold up to 330ft/lbs of torque but I’m no engineer so I don’t really know.

Some of the higher torques can snap the thinner 3/8″ this won’t at around 350 but your better off with more meat on the anvil

When pray tell is this getting released?????

Framer joeMember since Nov 2016

Thought you were an insider @ChrisK ….you should be tell me ?

ChrisKMember since Dec 2012

Nah, not me bro. I will say that beast will rip lugs off no problem and it looks just like the Mac which they have been building along so this will be a real powerhouse for sure. I’m waiting to get this wrench, all wrenching shall wait…….

Ya I’m definitely in………..need to rest the 899

BiggieMember since Oct 2016

A sparky youtube video from the dewalt event said it’ll be out by the end of November. I too can’t wait to try it out.  I check daily for video reviews but there really isn’t much out there yet.

BiggieMember since Oct 2016

Well I see acme has the new mid range available for order although it says it’s not it stock and arriving soon.

StercorariusMember since Dec 2015

Why not just order the Mac?

StercorariusMember since Dec 2015

Nevermind it’s almost $300 from them bare tool

BiggieMember since Oct 2016

Silly question, everyone knows red and yellow don’t mix. Haha

Okay guess it’s technically black in this case.Photo from the original forum

Wow looks exactly like the Dewalt with a different battery and a boot over it……didn’t know it was that similar…..

BiggieMember since Oct 2016

I’m sure someone will correct me if I’m wrong but I believe he has a dewalt high torque with Mac cover.  But yea other than color they are very similar if not exactly the same.

StercorariusMember since Dec 2015

Yeah DeWalt battery and tool with Mac covers on both. Battery cover is like $5 and impact boot is like $13. That was from when I first got it. Pretty abused like 5 months later and holding up well. Waiting for battery covers for the 6.0. Mac batteries and impact are literally identical except for color and decals.

StercorariusMember since Dec 2015

Yes you can put DeWalt batteries on Mac tools and vice versa.

BiggieMember since Oct 2016

Typical dewalt, acme just changed its status from arriving soon to pre order with estimated ship date December 30th.

Framer joeMember since Nov 2016

Acme still says arriving soon when I pull it up ? My guy there says next week , I already bought it…..we’ll see, I hope so…

StercorariusMember since Dec 2015

They may have sold all the stock DeWalt alloted them for the initial order and have to wait to get another order kind of like with flex volt.

ChrisKMember since Dec 2012

I am hoping that the $25 off Christmas special will apply for the gun assuming they have the sale. I’ll wait a few weeks but this is as good as mine. I’m going Tool only with the hog ring, I’ve got five batteries already.

Framer joeMember since Nov 2016

Same set up here…..

BiggieMember since Oct 2016

It only said it on the bare tool detent pin model so hopefully I just over reacted and they’ll still be available in November.

StercorariusMember since Dec 2015

If I land a job at peterbilt I’ll have to pick one up.

Wrenches also features Precision Wrench™ Control which helps sense when a bolt is getting tight and pauses before impacting to help avoid over-torque. In reverse, Precision Wrench™ Control regulates how quickly a nut or bolt is removed, helping to prevent run-off. With an efficient brushless motor that provides increased efficiency and runtime over brushed units, the tool is a powerful cordless option. In addition, the Mid-Range Impact Wrench includes a variable speed trigger and LED light to help provide visibility in low light situations

So they missed the Nov. release date.  Will they be out before the end of the year?  Really don’t like to pre order from dewalt because you never know who’s going to get them first but it kind of sucks missing out on all the holiday promos that could be used towards it.

I’d be careful ordering the mid torque right now. They already have a tool connect version that is customizable. I’m don’t think it will be released with the original release of the non Bluetooth version

Cool. I didn’t know there was one coming. Any other tool connect tools coming out besides the drills?

BiggieMember since Oct 2016

Not that I’m against technology in tools but at this point I don’t see much advantage to it for my application so I don’t want to pay any extra for it.

BiggieMember since Oct 2016

Must be getting closer.

The.HandymanMember since Aug 2015

DeWalt sent me my sample for review and testing. It’s pretty nice!

I really like the precision Wrench setting. Nice, so without looking at the specs do you think it’s comparable to the milwaukee mid torque or is the power difference noticeable?

Just got it in. Need more use to form any conclusions. Lugs nuts were equally easy for both mid-torque wrenches.
JronmanMember since May 2016

@The.Handyman looks nice. I’m sure @Framer joe would want to know how to get review units.

Framer joeMember since Nov 2016

Nice job @The.Handyman…thanks for th update and pics. 🙃….mines been ordered for a long time. Specs don’t always tell the whole story so we will see how it does compared to the Milwaukee. …a little surprised Dewalt didn’t match the Milwaukee mid torque….cuz you gotta assume there’s a newer 899 coming soon to match the new gen 2 Milwaukee heavy duty……..but for now I can’t wait for this Dewalt mid torque and the tripod light…….

Does not fit the mid-torque. Already ordered and tried. Too small.

And you’re sure you put it on right? I’ve heard the same thing about the other boot for the bigger one, yet it still works. Legitimately curious because if it doesn’t I’m not going to bother buying the DeWalt.

BiggieMember since Oct 2016

Still not available but home depot now has the dcf894 on their website.
