Acme Tools shared this on instagram this morning a Flexvolt air compressor is coming soon.
“Coming soon: @dewalttough has added a 2.5 gal 135 max PSI cordless air compressor (DCC2560T1) to their FLEXVOLT line-up. And it’s made in the USA! ?? Pre-order yours today.”
Its $299 and only available as a 1 battery kit at this time. Not sure when it would ship or what it’s actual release date is and I can’t find it anywhere else.
Glad I skipped the Ridgid Version however would of liked this unit to be larger perhaps 120v at 4 scfm
looks nice. How does it compare to the Ridgid. Maybe more power? it appears like a bigger tank as well.

The Ridgid has a 1 gallon tank, so this has it beat on volume at 2.5 gallons. Ridgid also only has 1 SCFM at 90PSI whereas the Dewalt has 1.2. If you aren’t invested in either brand the Dewalt ends up being $80 cheaper assuming you would buy two 5.0 batteries and the dual charger if you chose Ridgid.
The price difference and higher volume makes me really glad I didn’t buy the Ridgid one.
I bought the rigid one …and two 4 ah and charger…..but I do like it…..AND I will retire it and buy the Dewalt version…..killing me Dewalt….in a good way 🙂
That’s awesome. For sure something that I’ll be curious about in terms of a review.
Hope it’s quiet….

Saw a comment saying it was 79 db, this is not confirmed.
Thanks….the rigid is 77db …that’s ok,,,not bad if true,,,

Standard Cubic Feet per Minute
Yes the 1.2 SCFM on the Dewalt is at 90PSI
I was just looking at the Rigid. Not planning on buying it, but just checking it out. Planning on getting the Rigid lights and wondering what else I could get.
I like seeing this. Even though it’s flexvolt.
Badass….considering the rigid (I have) needs 2 / 5ah to achieve 1200 nails and the Dewalt uses 1 / flex battery 2ah/6ah to achieve 1220 nails …

where did you read that? is that trim nails? framing nails??
this compressor is really cool, but i’m trying to think what i could use it for besides filling a tire….theres cordless of most types of nailers now…..
@framer totally agree. This is really cool, but with how everything is cordless I am not sure what I would use it for?
At least right now air is faster and air nailers are smaller than their battery versions. And many guys probably either don’t wanna upgrade every gun to batter or have a few guns they would like to keep air powered.
Most Battery Powered nailers can’t sink 2 1/2 inch brads into hardwoods and sometimes struggle with 2″, with the exception of Paslode. So that could be the benefit of this, compressed air is still more powerful. plus you can fit all air guns from 15-23g in a small bag, where battery powered guns are much bigger.
@framer…the info on the Dewalt is on acme tool or toolguyd…the info on the rigid is on any product page…The number shot is for brad nails…..a framing gun would shoot probably 10/20 nails before kicking the compressor on…trim gun 16 or 15g ..20/30 nails…a hanger gun about 2 hangers, then kick on………..the whole filling tires thing is better off with other tools…I have a Dewalt compressor/ jumper cables unit…small and does a great job for both….Ryobi makes great tire inflators.
This compressor works well for punch list, interior trim, small jobs…I have all the cordless nailers, I use the 16g to tack Trim up then nail with a coiler (exterior trim) ..I don’t like the size and weight of the cordless nailers ,when I do finish work I would set this compressor in the room or just outside the room and use all my much smaller and lighter finish guns with a small hose……no jobsite power on almost all our jobs…..so anytime I can go cordless great…..plus my deck company will use this no problem it will be perfect…

The Paslodes are basically air in a way because they use a gas cartridge. I wonder if the next gen cordless nailers will be as powerful as air.
Tool Nut has these in stock now.
Interesting so this is running on 60v while others are at 18/20
Depending on total price, I just can’t see myself getting into this. Flat tires yes…
but unless you have zero electricity what will you use it for? I know the argument on nail guns, which I agree with, but I would rather be totally cordless and set a few nails potentially… rather than have a cordless compressor and still have hoses around.
This is why I am totally cordles. 100 percent
Yes the Dewalt runs on 60v …the large 3/9ah flex battery should run it all day……………uses…many……where we work building new custom homes ..no power..generators running all day and gas compressors…….this compressor will be great for carpenters punch list, …finish guys that love there very small lightweight air guns but have no power or don’t want to run a bigger gas compressor….we love it for our deck company….tons of hardware on decks…the dcn693 hanger gun is huge, heavy and can’t fit in 12″ oc spaces…so this compressor will work great using a small lightweight “strap shot” hanger gun for all that hardware…again no power on site……….anyone that already owns pneumatic guns and doesn’t want a new huge investment in battery nailers will LOVE this compressor…..
could it be 60v because of the larger tank? @JakeDewalt
I bought mine, ill know mon or tues I’m told…can’t wait to use it. 60v ,bigger tank, yup yup yup…now where’s the 20v chainsaw, grinder, fan, ???????
@Framer joe you should do a review of the unit. I’m sure it would be great cause MORE POWA tm
I will…no problem….
Just got it …love it so far…finally I can go cordless and use my small, lightweight and fast Bostich (air) hanger gun instead of my DCN693 which is large, heavy and doesn’t fit in 12″ on center joists……as you see there is a lot of hardware installed on a deck (on the table x20 each) many many hanger nails shot…..
How is the noise?
Just a little louder then my Dewalt 200psi trim compressor, which basically is as loud as a dryer…(71dba). This cordless one is 79 dba…..no where near those screaming pancake compressors……
Hey @Hugh Jass..how’s that 20v sds plus doing ? Last I read you were killing the holes……your making pull the trigger on that one

I love it, been using it just about every day for a variety of tasks. I’m throughly impressed personally and would definitely buy it again.
Thanks man…..
@Framer joe Is that the on/off switch I see to the left of the made in the usa sticker? This compressor sure looks tough with the cage around the tank and whatnot. Have you tried to see if it fits on top of a tough system or tstak box?
Do you think it would keep up with a framing nailer installing sheeting?
Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk
Yo @Jronman…yes that’s the on off switch ..it’s in a “cove” kinda protected from above and sealed under a rubber boot……no it can’t go on top of Tstak or tough system and lock in,sorry………… @overanalyze if you mean a spike gun shooting 2 3/8″ stick nails in rapid fire or a coil gun shooting 2 1/4″ galv coils fast ? No ….
……the output is 1.2 scfm at 90psi , the smallest Dewalt compressor that can do that or anything a large compressor can do , is the 200psi trim compressor..3.0 scfm at 90psi ….I have that one and its friggn quiet and powerful but corded….
This will shoot all my hanger nails , without power , no problem..or finish work..or a punch list…but not rapid fire nailing of nails that big…..
Does anyone know if this will run a 18g stapler for underlayment?

Yes perfect for that application actually.
Yes it will but it will probably be running a lot ,,if your rapid firing …but it will keep up
Thanks ordered one:)

For Finish nailing cordless is the way of the future. No need to have an air compressor to drive a finish nail.

I agree with you in regards to finish work. they aren’t replacements just yet for certain projects. I made a dining table out of Hickory and needed to use nails to attach a trim piece to the side of the top. None of the cordless nailers I had could handle shooting 2″ nails into hickory end grain. This included the dewalt 20v 16g, the greco 18g fuel nailer, or my buddies Ryobi 18v. I had to use my old pneumatic to complete it. That is where something like this could come in real handy. It should be more powerful than current cordless nailers and it can also be used for other tasks like filling up bike and car tires in non powered areas.
Does any one know if this compressor will become available in europe
Don’t know about Europe……but this compressor is nice, I use it every weekend…..I have the cordless Dewalt nailers,,,use them…but I still prefer the cordless compressor and a small , light, pneumatic nailer……..I’m sure the gen 2 compressor will be bigger and more air,,,,,,,and I’m sure the next gen nailers will be smaller and more capable………..electricity is the problem on our jobs,,,,

With respect, instead of working your way through four power tool options, would it not have been more efficient to just use a hammer?
Trying to find the gun that works for a certain project can be challenging, once found that setup can be used again in the future ,thus saving time, also finding the max ability of a gun is needed info……a hammer works, for a cave dweller..bikes work also , why drive….? It’s about being more efficient….

Your right that would have absolutely worked. It was more about me figuring out the limits of the tools and what types of jobs they are more suited for. I actually like using trim head screws sometimes also. They leave a hole not much bigger than a 15g nailer and actually bite into the wood. Someday when I have spare time I would like to try building stuff with hand tools only.
