How do I remove the casing on a Makita 6095d cordless drill?

How do I remove the casing on a 6095d Makita cordless drill? I need to replace some parts that connect to the battery clips.

I removed the 8 screws from the outer shell but the casing won’t separate near the chuck. If I remove the 1 screw from the change ring will I be able to separate the casing?
