Fast charging doesnt kill batteries. It’s the heat produced by fast charging that damages them.
But most of our power tool chargers cool the batteries down before starting to charge em? Makita chargers do. Not familiar enouigh with other brand chargers
DeWALT chargers have a hot cold light on rhem so I would guess they would let battery cool down before charging.
Plus fan cooled

Yes…
Wish my chainsaw was going to arrive before the hurricane hits me here in Florida
No shit, that sucks….wish you luck with Irma….
Yea I hear ya, the Keys are about to get raped without lube. If ya’ll don’t hear from me for a while I have a safe place to stay, solid monolithic concrete poured home and a ton of supplies.
Brilliant, …so no trailer in the wide open , unprotected and asking why my home blew over ? …..I feel bad for some people , but sometimes I wonder about judgement and common sense…..your one of the few brilliant ones
Trailer is bolted down to the concrete slab under the house. Storm surge might flood it but it’s not going without a fight.
Very nice !!!
the question is almost obsolete as we all see the picture
… so it is out for delivery (was it a pre order) ?? or coming from a “special delivery channel”
coming from ACME ?
have fun and post experiance
Acme tools ,my go to company for deals and tools out first….I think they still have the kit listed for 199 plus 10% off that….I usually go bare tool but it was a good deal for a 5ah too…the charger I just sell…….oh ..and no I never ..preorder anymore.ever…
. works great, excellent run time on a 5ah so you can imagine a 9ah ..it’s just so perfect for what I want ..cuts fast and smooth..
did you you overfill…? Id just bring it back…..I’ve used mine all weekend and no problems…friggin love it !
Maybe a seal that was seated wrong?
I sat it down leaning away from the opening for the oil. I may have just overfilled it. That thing is great though. Been using it for small stuff around my house and I’ve been keeping it in my patrol vehicle in case of emergencies.
I got mine in today just did a few practice cuts and I like it seems like it is going to be used more then I thought

Ya,very practical tool,worth the wait….
Trimmed up a couple of trees today, and that freaking chainsaw is awesome did everything I asked of it just wish the safety button was on both sides of the trigger and the blade guard already has a crack in it

The mimosas have grown up all over the place at my project house. Where the 20v Hedge trimmer handled them well enough earlier this year, I think this chainsaw is a must for them now. So, one will be on the to-order list very soon.
how easy is it to dismantle the “blade holder” and the chain itself ?
I assume changing the chain, taking it off should be easy
how many screws, etc to take the blade holder off?
I´m flying to the US soon and want to take backe this saw
cheers
There is just one thumb screw to take the blade holder offmidogrumpy wrote:

I saw a vid on YT where a guy put a longer bar and chain on ,so it can’t be to hard…
I seen this saw at HD today. Not great for a lefty since the lock button is only on one side.

If it is less than 6 inches in diameter, I have found using a Freud Diablo pruning blade in a reciprocating saw is my favorite pruning saw.
I do have a few pruning blades, but plan to wait until it cools down to try to destroy these monstrosities. Seriously, though, mimosa are are bad, if not worse, than the related bamboo.
Anyone confirm what charger comes in the kit yet?

I may stop by today, then, to get one last tool before we pickup our cycle tomorrow. The next few weeks will see me averaging 15-18 hour workdays. Many of you use drills daily. I am a Drill (Sergeant). 😀
Mad props Sir,, thanks for your service, my daughter is a marine

Yep, firm pass. I’ll buy bare tool and the new rapid charger.
Those 118’sell on eBay for 20-35 $ …I bought four for the price of one
Ya it’s a handy little tool !
That’s a nice set up. I like having the box to break it down and if it leaks, its all contained.
What is up with the oil leak. whats the fix ? Ive tried the basic fixes on YouTube .its a new saw. dewalt opened a case for me .but I need my saw not leaking..just wondering what y’all did to control oily issue. I would hate to have to get crazy custom just to stop the oil. Thank you Thank you if anyone can help
Oh hey im tha newbee .forgive me in advance I’m slow with the net.just looking for answers . hope all yall doin well.
How much oil is leaking? All chainsaws will leak some oil when sitting. Just trying to get an idea or your issue.
A serious leak .have had it apart can’t find anything to cause so much oil unless theres an o ring not sealing .found a deal on you tube guy silicone everything solved the issue ..but my saw will leave about an 1″ of oil in the small box its in if I fill it it will leak till 1/4 full dewalt opened a case but wont give shipping label
YEs, that’s a lot. I would return it and get a new one. If it’s to late, contact Dewalt, you should still have a warranty.
