Gorilla primer and glue in one…. Fail.
Mostly because it wasn’t used properly is my bet

Extra rubber gaskets the plumber left behind long ago as replacements….Too bad they long ago dry rotted and the brass trap is corroded away anyways

[External image (farm6.staticflickr.com), not copied]..
Another custom fitting, apparently they needed heat tape to keep the sump pump drain from freezing?

Customer didn’t realize they were providing a home to a whole family of birds haha sorry but your nest building supplies have to go

Brand spanking new house we did plumbing and HVAC, getting ready to install faucets after the counter top guys do their work, it’s that far off center (right side of my level) how does this happen!!
[External image (farm9.staticflickr.com), not copied]
..
Also at this house:
[External image (farm9.staticflickr.com), not copied]..
Gaps everywhere… Trim won’t fit/seal properly
..
Also later they had water coming through the ceiling below this shower, when the tile guys set the base and glued into our drain line, they butchered the fitting and so it leaked right away…. This is the most expensive, involved house I’ve worked in, but somehow moonlight Joe got the tile job lol
..
Water heater not venting properly…. Guy going through a divorce says “do the bare minimum” I replaced what was there instead of going all out B-vent…
Sorry for the photo dump, I thought I’d share my journey and maybe provide some entertainment too!!!
I can’t count the number of times I run across these types of hangers and they’re doing nothing… Yeah that’s a nail bent over and was holding the pipe up
[External image (farm9.staticflickr.com), not copied]..
Tankless water heater fried a temp switch, must have vibrated up against the cover panel

I could never be a plumber man, soo much respect
so what are you doing in the picture with your legs sticking up?
Have you ever seen any cast iron pipe full of black sludge type stuff?
Is the last picture plumbers installing shingles?
Ever find any old newspapers, magazines, or anything else hidden in the walls or ceilings/floors? A guy at work found 3 papers from early 1900’s hidden in the ceiling of one of our current jobs.

Thanks Brian, I’m happy to say I like it for the end result and love the variety

I’m down in a crawlspace cutting out some old cast iron pipe to be replaced with PVC.
The black sludge yes, it’s everywhere in the old cast pipe, just from debris build up from washing dishes, washing hands, shaving, stuff going down the drains, catches on the rough interior of the pipe and builds up.
The last pic is just showing what the Grace stuff is meant for, as a comparison.
The newspaper was in a crawlspace, that’s about all i’ve found can’t recall anything else off the top of my head

Haha no, that’s a shower valve you’re looking at and someone chopped the opening in the shower wall without using a hole saw properly
So, it’s not a plastic holesaw then?

nah, it’s the backing plate for the shower valve
Nature trying to take over…. Some people don’t grasp the concept of maintenance that comes with owning a house

That is supposed to be a solid stainless band around the pex pipe.
Apparently, the manufacturer is in a lawsuit because it’s happening all over.
If you have this in your house, get it out!!!
