So as many know we got a March Lion and I just moved over 2 feet of fluffy white stuff. Spent the day at work in my 2 wheel drive work car and came home to three hours of snow blowing, plowing with my ATV and shoveling….[External image (uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com), not copied][External image (uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com), not copied][External image (uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com), not copied][External image (uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com), not copied][External image (uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com), not copied][External image (uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com), not copied][External image (uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com), not copied]

I’ve never understood why they give you guys rwd cars, a lot of our departments are getting the ford SUV inerceptors but the ones that don’t have the taurus with awd at least, we just got our last ambulance replaced with a 4×4 unit it’s great!

Yeah, hey just started buying AWD Chargers but my girl doesn’t need to be replaced. I’ve only got 75k on her! I did a lot of “Underpass Safety Checks” yesterday ;D Thank God for iOS.
My last check of 16 ended up being a whiteout and took me almost forty minutes of white knuckling this poor girl in drifting snow to finish my last check for crashes or disabled motorists. I got home and fell asleep for an hour before cleaning the cars and the driveway. I woke up at 330 this morning and there was a gorgeous moon and not a cloud in the sky. Super fast mover. It started at about 630 am yesterday and must’ve stopped late last night because I finished cleaning at 930 pm. It was still snowing but the fifty mile per hour winds were blowing all the snow around. It didn’t look like it was snowing too much then.
Glad you made it home safe !!!!
Hopefully this is the last storm of the year

Thanks Buddy! Yeah aside from two feet of snow on my deck it’s sunny and borderline warm outside right now! It might hit 28 today! Woohoo!
28 ?!!!! ???
sounds like Cervesa poolside !!!!!
I can’t complain man. We’ve had a relatively mild winter as far as snow accumulation. Glad you are safe brother.

I thought the Chargers used for law enforcement were all wheel drive? Maybe only some of them?
This is why I live in Texas. I don’t have to deal with the snow.
Oh joy.
I was born in this, molded by it, I didn’t see green grass until I was already a man, by then it was blinding LOL
Now I’m kinda missing it, hmm maybe it’s because my son isn’t getting to experience it like I did when I was young… Well there’s always next year

You guys don’t get too much dude?
My brother got an Interceptor as a replacement for his Charger last month. He likes the extra space, but I think he liked driving the Charger better.

Not here in NW Ohio we don’t. Always had plenty of it in Midwest Michigan where I grew up

Dude f&$@ ford!!
We bought a f-550 chassis for our ambulance, turbo diesel 4×4, before it hit 10,000 we warrantied it 3 times, second time it blew a turbo the other two were exhaust issues, so far our other one hasn’t had issues yet…
The 4×4 and turn capacity is nicer than our old e series though, and it moves pretty good!

I am not a fan of Ford but my parents each drive a Ford and so far no major issues.
I’m driving a Ford for work…. The Mercedes didn’t pan out….

We bought a 250 for a station truck, they bought the low end motor what a hunk of shot, thing is a dog I missed the old v10 triton we had even though the bed had a rusted out hole the size of Texas lol

my last three vans have all been gmc 2500 vans, got 325,000 on first one before head gasket went, got 367,000 on second van before it rusted out, and the one im running now is an 04, and just hit 318,000, still running strong, no oil leaks or oil burning, still no rust through. i bought this one with a 100,000 mile rust out warrenty.I run nothing but synthetic fluids in everything, and do a tranny flush every year, i average around 35,000 miles a year. price you pay when you live in the woods.

I bet it would be better with different tires.
you are right, tires can make a huge difference, i run nothing but rear wheel drive vans and never had a problem in up state NY.

The F350 has the 5.7 V8 …….. grossly underpowered …… we do have some larger trucks with the triton V10, now they haul *ss

I fully support all emergency services personal but can’t help question some decisions higher up. These men an women are putting themselves at risk to help us. Don’t they deserve proper Equipment? I know awd is more expensive but lives are at stake.
That’s just my two cents
We are on our last crown Vic. We have two Impalas that I think will be our last. Also have a Tahoe and a Silverado for squad cars. I think our experiment with cars is over. Every other department in the county has explorers. I think we are getting more trucks or Tahoe’s when the cars get replaced. The Vic isn’t the most nimble in winter. Usually park and sit unless I have to move when it gets that bad. Lol

If you want nimble might as well go with an awd hatch. Just need to add a beefy grill, engine upgrades, some lights, a siren, and a fancy police car paint job.
