Don’t know where this topic belongs. Do you need a certain amount of posts to post in the for sale section? Theres no option to make a post in there.
Yes we have a post count restriction on the for sale section. I believe its 25 posts or 50 I think its the latter number though. It’s just a way of protection hit and run scammers from the forum.
heres the link bro. Jason is dead on, 25 posts. Don’t be scarce, post away!!!!
Thanks. Thats what I thought. Il have get to posting lol.

I read that sticky a few times to wtf how did i not see that part lol. I bet i went over that about 5 times an missed the first paragraph.
Ah it’s alright that’s what we are here for!
It should be updated to say that friends and family payments are not allowed anymore. You should just add the percentage for regular paypal to cover the cost of people being protected from anything going wrong.

I think that’s not a bad idea. It protects the purchaser if an issue went unresolved though the guys here are fantastic and I don’t recall an issue popping up in the past. Still, not a bad idea.

The only reason I brought it up some Facebook sales groups have had problems with people scammers getting people to use friends and family. Luckily we have had some awesome forum members offering great deals on tools lately, I just don’t want to see anyone get hosed potentially.
True that Jason. Thank God there’s an ELITE group of MODERATORS deleting potential spammers at the drop of a hint! 😉

I updated the rules to say that gift payments are strongly discouraged

It’s only for posting an item for sale. People with less than 25 can read the posts.

Maybe it should stay hidden until the post threshold?

There’s nothing prohibiting a new member from buying Jimbo, just selling. Personally I think a higher post count should be implemented to establish some more credibility on the forum but 25 is the minimum. Regardless, a new member should have every right to purchase something on the forum as there is no risk to the seller.
I agree 25 posts is a mere drop in a bucket if you plan on ripping anyone off, however being able to see the posts is a good way to give incentive to post more as well…
I think a higher post count will definitely keep

Good one, didn’t see that one coming ???
So I just saw the southwire non contact voltage detector giveaway and I really want one, so I just read the no rules rules policy and I saw that you had to be over 18 and under 223 years old. Im only 15 and I love tools matter of fact i’m buying another Dremel rotary tool today(if my mom feels like driving to the HD). So can I still win even though i’m not 18. Can the crew just let me slide through this one because i’m really trying to win one of these.

Nate, the rules are established or adopted by the site owners probably with some direction from the sponsors who donate the tools for the giveaway. You could email Eric or Dan and ask directly.
@Eric – TIA

I think they have said if your under age its ok as long as it’s sent and addressed to someone over 18 . It’s just general liability you have to do with giveaways sadly.

This. If you don’t make your age an issue, they won’t either.
