That’s what i was thinking. If I was still in the market for a miter saw I would probably be placing an order!

Well this make my decision easier! been looking for a 12in miter and it being cordless might help me jump to Flexvolt over Milwuakee…..
That’s just the bare tool.
They must have finally had enough to start shipping out the preorders and thought, “uh-oh we cant just start getting people their orders now can we? Get rid of them all and do it fast before we have to fulfill our end of the deal.”

Bare tool with the 120v power adapter. I guess you could just use it as a replacement for the 780 and add batteries later if you wanted to go on the road.

Yep this is what I was thinking, it having the power adapter is huge in my opinion, and if they made a 60V adapter then I think this line will be hard to beat as they will always be relevant. I think these larger power cordless should all have this adapter option.
Or just buy the full kit from Home Depot for $479 with competitor coupons.

My depot doesn’t really take competitors coupons. I can sometimes get them to take a physical Lowes 10% off, but it’s a real hassle and no way will they ever take a HF20.
I posted this more because of the clearance status than the price point they gave it.
I think the fixed base just isn’t that popular
