Preorder from acme! Not too fond of the kit prices though…

We all know how the recent preorders went for everybody… Plus, in my part of town, it’s coming into winter

Not sure if it’s a pricing error, but the trimmer is $100 more for a 9.0 and a fast charger.  That’s a decent deal.

Doubt it they probably wanted to keep the bundle under 3 bills, sounds better than 329

Yup same here

Shit, just as I’m looking to invest in either the Makita 36 V , blower & trimmer, or the Ego 56V blower & trimmer, Milwaukee decides to screw with my head now….

I’m with ya already have a mess of batteries.

Yay!! I’m hoping they have better deals with the 9.0 like they do with the miter saw.

BremonMember since Dec 2014

I’m not convinced yet. I’m waiting on reviews.

khariVMember since Dec 2014

The string trimmer is really the only one that has my attention. I imagine I could get the blower for my deck, but the leaves and sticks in my yard proper would laugh at the CFMs and runtime that it pushes.

jeffmcmillanMember since Jun 2015

I hope they don’t fall in the same trap as Makita OPE.  Any of those bare tools you can get the EGO equivalent with a battery for the same price and open up a well established and more complete OPE line.

Edit: I misread prices so the hedge trimmers are the same price but I think the point stands.

I’m with you on that Jeff, I’m already invested in the Makita 18V/36V line, but have not made the jump to their 5ah/6ah batteries yet. The Ego line looks like a good product and to be honest I wouldn’t mind jumping into that battery platform to save some money.

Daniel JulianMember since Dec 2015

Good deal at AcmeTool.com… $10 off $150, $25 off $250, $50 off $300. If you get any of the OPE kits for $299 and add some small item to push it over $300, then you can get the $50 off and free shipping. Not bad! Promo code HOHOHO. And you get the free $20 gloves!

Hopefully they fulfill better than dewalt and festool pre orders

That string trimmer kit seems like a good deal, with sale pricing it’s going to be really reasonable. I’m not sure if they’ll compete with 56V EGOs, we’ll see…but if you’re not in the EGO lineup already, the Milwaukee coming close might be a good buy. I do wish Milwaukee would have store Makita’s X2 idea…but that may hurt the perception of the HD batteries.

MikeyBMember since Dec 2014

This really sucks, the Milwaukee OPE is very tempting. I got about $500.00 to burn up on some tools for this X-Mass and can’t decide on which blower & hedge trimmer to jump on…..

BremonMember since Dec 2014

It will be tough to decide between Ego, FlexVolt and Fuel but pricepoint and a lawnmower will do some talking lol.

BremonMember since Dec 2014

Anyone notice the famous Milwaukee 5 year warranty is 3 years on the OPE as listed on the Milwaukee site.

I see a 3 year battery warranty in the string trimmer but I can’t find anything on the tool warranty. The blower and hedge trimmer both show a 3 year tool warranty. Odd.

those are great deals for Milwaukee.

I noticed 2 string trimmer heads on acmetools.com. Trying to figure out the difference. One costs twice as much and I’m guessing is a quick loading head, where the cheaper one probably has to manually wrap the string around.

Got confirmation from AcmeTools that NEITHER is a speed-load head. The more expensive one is the entire head assembly and the cheaper one is just the inside piece.

Also, noticed today that the 2726-20, bare tool hedge trimmer shows up on homedepot.com, but none of the others (or kits). I’m sure they will pop up soon.

AcmeTools.com still has the better deals. Today only, you can still get the $20 off anything over $100 and free gloves with any Milwaukee OPE purchase, free shipping over $199 and no tax.

jtkendallMember since Dec 2016

I almost preordered the blower bare tool last night. I need a blower but between the Festool Pro 5 preorder fiasco and the fact that come January there will probably be snow on the ground I’m holding off until Spring. The blower and string trimmer are both on my to buy list though.

If your in Michigan you get shafted with sales tax at acme for some reason!!

They have sales people in Michigan that are actively selling to customers so they have to charge sales tax even though they have no physical stores there.

Q12. Will I be charged sales tax?
We are only required to collect sales tax for orders that ship to the six states where we either have stores or have salespeople actively selling to customers. Those six states are: North Dakota, Minnesota, Iowa, South Dakota, Michigan and Wisconsin.

So because they have a freaking sales guy in Michigan I get hit with sales tax that freaking sucks!!! We have 6% sales tax here so any %of gets screwed pretty hard already!! How do I encourage this person to leave Michigan?

Maybe if you bought the blower kit you could blow him away…if he’s sitting in a chair…and it has wheels…and if the ground was sloped.

Yep that sucks… Wonder if there are multiple sales people and where they are located…?

Lol!! Well if it’s only a salesperson, I doubt we’ll know where they do their business, if they’re employed by Acme and go to several different areas

DR99Member since Nov 2012

It’s a little too late for me I’m pretty well invested in Ego now 🙁

BremonMember since Dec 2014

Why so sad @DR99, Ego looks like great stuff! Plus the blower doesn’t have the same Tonka look the Fuel one has 😆
