Damn you all have some very nice German tools!
I’ll post a very sad, lonely picture of my German tools soon lol
I just ordered a bunch of wera stuff…
I’ll post once everything arrives.
Man I thought I was bad…you all have a sickness.
Speaking of sickness, just ordered some more Wera and Knipex last night 😀

Chad’s?
With points and a $8 off $20 coupon
Man, if I wasn’t so broke I’d have a ton of Hazet tools and a couple of sets of Gedore ratcheting wrenches…
Why are Wera Robertson drivers different colors while Phillips, flat, nut, torx, hex etc are all green series 300?

It has to do with the Robertson color scheme (color referring to tip size) that old man Robertson came up with. I think Wera added a second contrasting color to it because of the two component handle. I have never completely understood it myself. Look under Robertson head for more info.

Stupid Canadian, had to make things different. Makes total sense though, and I’m a bit embarrassed I didn’t think to google that haha. Thanks much KC.
To think, the world could have been spared the horrors of Phillips screws if Robertson was a savvier businessman lol. Who knew Henry Ford was a good horse to bet on 😛
Interesting topic. The strength of fasteners was shit back then. Phillips being designed to cam-out so as not to destroy the fastener was pretty smart for the time. Why we have freaking stayed with Phillips after fasteners strength improvement is the big question.
PS I would never bet on a Ford.

I don’t even use Kingsford charcoal, even though I must admit it was a great use of waste product.
Phillps is still used a ton but the other bits are starting to win out because they are so much better to use. I see more bit types at stores than ever now

Up here we dont call them #2 Robertson, #1 Robertson etc.
We call em Green Robbie (#1), Red Robbie (#2) and Black Robbie (#3), hense why the Wera screwdrivers are different color. I love how they even made the green robbie a different shade of green so you can tell the difference. European’s, gotta love them!. I just wish the green robbie was a little longer. And no laser etching on the robbie drivers, I think if they could laser etch them, it would be HUGE. Robbies tend to round out pretty easily, more so than phillips in my experience.
You must be in a different part of up here than me 😛 or you just use screwdrivers more often lol. Agreed though, Robertsons wreck the bit, Phillips wreck the screws lol.

Down here we don’t even get into colors. We just call them the square ones. Comp was the first person I ever heard use Robertson. I’ve only ever seen square deck screw. Everything is torx with the occasional Philips.
Just placed an order with KC Tool. Can’t wait until its here!
