I don’t know that they ever stopped. Lots of stuff made in China, but other stuff is Japan, UK, etc. One of the new brushless reciprocating saws is made in Japan.
Hrmm, I’m surprised I have watched a few news reports and its hard finding labor in Japan right now. They are actually bringing in main land Chinese people by the boat load to make up the shortfall.
yea i think they made the parts and that in japan and had china put them together but idk
A small Makita detail: all ‘high tech’ power Tools get their first production run in the Japanese motherplant.
Afterwarths it is decided in which manufacturing plant the actually tool Will be produced to the specs/tolerances decided in the Japanese plant.
The manufacturing plants are put against each other to ‘win’ the right to produce the tool. The plant of course needs the capability in the near Future to produce the amounts that are predicted too sell. And of course price also plays a part 🙂
thanks kornomaniac
Think some of their higher end stuff is Japanese made, but their BL barrel grip jig is
